The action was started by the Teller County Division of Human Services on December 20, 2018, signed that evening by the same judge who signed the arrest warrant, and served on PF during his arrest the following morning. Under Colorado law, a deceased parent still has parental rights that must be recognized and addressed, such as a posted will that named a legal guardian (if she had one). The Colorado Judicial website doesn't have a format that can include all of that in "Dockets", so it listed KB and PF. As soon as those issues were introduced in the closed portion of the hearing, Reference to KB disappeared from "Dockets". Her interest is still being represented by the temporary legal guardian, which is the Colorado DHS. A lot of legal ground is covered in a first hearing, but it was the same judge and she could cut short some of the formalities, which made for a shorter time behind closed doors. Maybe one of our attorneys can explain it better. IMO

    She's guilty as sin. IMO.

The more I think about KK and her likely level of involvement, it does not strike me as being very plausible that her only involvement in the crime came after the murder. Not at all.

I don't see PF picking up the phone after he's killed KB and asking KK to drop everything and high-tail it to CO (and oh, yeah, to be sure to bring her scrubs and a bucket of bleach with her).

The <modsnipped>who was reportedly solicited multiple times in the months leading up to November to commit said murder is the one who transported the dead woman's cell phone to another state and sent some texts from that phone posing as KB to make it look like she was alive and well.

She is in this up to her neck. JMO.

If he tells where he body is wouldn't that be considered admitting to the crime?

    Sure would.

He can’t know where her body is, unless he was involved.

    He was. He knows.

Yep, this is the conclusion I have come to as well.

I think she's the weaker of the two and once she cracks and opens her pie-hole to LE things will come to light.

Hypothetically speaking, she may have viewed KB as a rival and felt flattered that PF would enlist her help to get KB out of the picture, so to speak, so that her and KB could live happily ever after on mommy's ranch to horseshoe, breed dogs and hee-haw at rodeos.

There is a huge difference between a sealing and a limit on news coverage (or gag order).
No one objected to the news coverage plan, which calls for one camera and one live reporter only, with pool sharing. The primary reason for it is that the century old Teller County Courthouse building will only handle a limited number of people. That order of the court is not going to change, unless the trial venue is changed to some county that has a much larger building.
If it is necessary to reveal information that is sealed, the judge will ask the camera person to shut it off, and a bailiff will escort the newsperson out of the courtroom to a holding area.

BBM: Correct. It wasn't scheduled before her killing. It was bad reporting.

While we can only speculate right now, it is a statistical certainty that the DA has PF dead to rights for this murder. They brought these charges forward with lightning-quick speed.
PF must have done the equivalent of leading them on a high-speed chase right up to his front door.

IMO, the DA also likely has the motive established.

While there was no custody hearing scheduled prior to the murder, my own speculative thinking is that PF was not living up to his parental obligations with regard to financially supporting Baby K in a stable and/or substantial way. If KB did in fact decide to broach the subject of pursuing formal child support and custody arrangements via the courts, this would have completely sent PF into an inchoate fury that fulminated in the murder. IMO.

Yup, no one tells PF what to do.

He doesn’t strike me as the type of guy who takes kindly to any pushback, especially when it is coming from a woman.

I agree, this guy really screwed up. I think that once we hear some of the evidence against him, we will realize that he’s even dumber than we’ve thought.

    If that’s possible.

    I couldn’t agree more! IMHO ....

Oh, how I wish we could hear something new - I feel like we keep rehashing everything trying to be patient until there’s more we know about this case.

I keep wondering how baby K is doing, but I have no doubt she’s being loved and well cared for.

makayla, I'm right there with you on the frustration scale re: nothing new to see here.
Having said that, though, what impresses me about that is it means both LE and the DA have really kept a tight lid on the case...no leakage whatsoever, and that's a good thing!

So, while I'm feeling impatient, I'm also reminding myself that our wait will be rewarded eventually.

We'll get a treasure trove of information once the DA does release the hounds.

Yes, LE and the DA have been amazingly quiet ... it’s a pleasant change from having too many things leaked which could jeopardize the case. We don’t want anything to get in the way of convicting all those responsible.

It is possible KKL has given up all information to LE and is a protected witness but I don’t believe that and I am still waiting for her arrest. I don’t see her as someone who would open up. I think she would be a hard person to break. Now, compare my view of her to the one the R’s gave in their interview about her telling all to her bff and her fearing PF and nothing about KKL makes sense.

Consider the fact that we saw a total of about two minutes out of 45 of the R’s interview and no follow up explanation. It is as if they all dropped off the face of the earth. I think the R’s were trying to cover for the bff’s involvement somehow and LE or FBI told them to shut up.

So where is KKL? I think when LE gets enough to lock her up, they will.

But Dave that doesn’t mean the laws are on the minds of the every day CO citizen and they may not think as you do.

Agree. IMO, her innocence left the first time PF solicited her and she did not call LE and report him. And there is no way you take another persons phone somewhere and discard it. You just DON’T!

    Nope.

You don’t do that when you are unaware as to why you are doing it, and you certainly don’t do that when you know full well what is going on.

The 19th can’t come soon enough.

LOL! So did she help in the planning or in the cover up, or was she there to facilitate PF in disappearing KB? We know she is guilty but we aren’t sure of exactly what. In this bizarre case, guilty of the least is guilty of the whole, IMO. Is she stupid or is she evil or both?

This info gleaned just from watching Dateline and shows like it: Sometimes they cut a deal with the perp that he can lead them to a body and not have that fact used against him at trial. MOO
