Where these charges or was this suspect ever convicted of these crimes? In the 80s, it would’ve been too early for widespread DNA testing. If this person has been convicted of a crime more recently, their DNA would have been taken. Perhaps now this family would have less political power in town. The fact that they have a DNA, and suspects, would lead one to believe that that DNA have been tested against those suspects. But perhaps back then that family was too powerful. Maybe not now?

She would not be on the Charley project page because she is not missing.

The clothes were neatly folded, but also "buried next to the body". The buried part could be a good thing as it would have protected any touch DNA from the elements. That is assuming that the clothing evidence has been stored properly.

I find it interesting that her remains were found in the area so near where she disappeared...and that they area would have already been searched. If she were buried, wouldn't the ground have been disturbed? If a large boulder was placed on top of her burial site, one that required moving equipment, wouldnt that hav been noticed or heard? I would think someone on the property would have noticed.
Were no dogs used to search for her?

I am trying to find if there were ever “official” suspects named , so that some “official” sleuthing may take place.

I submitted Margarets case to Cold Justice. There wasn't much room to submit details of the case. I am sure they research that all themselves. Also, the police have to be willing to let them help. Hopefully that will be so. Hopefully someone will get back to me and I will let you know
