Thank you @NoSI . Makes me sad to think she was in this desolate place. Easy to see why this location has been used by others as well. Like everyone here, I’m just so thankful she was found. She deserves a beautiful place to rest. Her family needs to heal.

Barry needs to go to prison.
I agree! It felt heavy. Beautiful weather, light breeze, beautiful area, wildflowers, sound of crickets.... But felt heavy... Desolate, lonely... I don't know how else to describe it.

I tend to think he had the job planned for an upcoming weekday, killed her on impulse, and just used those work plans to create an alibi.
I heartily agree. That is in line with a scenario where he snapped and tranquilized/killed Suzanne on the 9th sometime after her last known communication (afternoon) and then spent the next 12 hours or so cleaning the house, disposing of her body, collecting evidence to dump the next day, and setting up his alibi (getting the extra helper, dumping bike and helmet, etc.).

As noted, the job couldn’t begin until the 11th so the only reason to go to Broomfield on the 10th was for a brief reconnaissance of the jobsite, which he apparently did for about 20 minutes, far less time than he spent on multiple dump runs. That there was no work to be done is clear from the fact that he spent most of his time that day watching a football game (his version) or frantically bleaching anything he’d touched in the last 24 hours (the likely version).

It begs the question of why one would arise at 5AM for 20 minutes of “work”, on Mother’s Day, with the children away and the “love of his life” tucked in beside him. The answer to that question, particularly in light of various other evidence, appears fairly obvious to me, but I am looking forward to an “official” answer at his retrial.

Well, as I recall, Suzanne always wore jammies.

Not only did Barry not realize the one dirty plate from "them sharing a steak" on the 9th would be trouble but he also left out a coffee mug on the counter. That's because Suzanne was already gone and wasn't present to eat, drink or clean.

Life Insurance does not pay out when the payee had been arrested and charged with the crime even though the murder is still unresolved. They'd hold it, imo.

Suzanne's brother made a statement in the beginning about the Puma Path house in that he felt it may be 7 years before Suzanne would be pronounced legally dead, hence, Barry wouldn't profit off Suzanne's demise. After 7 yrs, Barry would be free to absorb all of the marital assets.

However, Barry pulled a slick maneuver in Indiana by obtaining a power of attorney over his wife really quickly so he could sell their Indiana home, then since he held the POA, Barry was able to sell the Puma Path home also. He sold her RR. There's no way he would allow her gorgeous wedding rings to be scattered in the dusty desert in Moffat is there?

Well, he may say that "bad guys" stole the ring.

But...is the ring in the house, or did it disappear?

You know one could trace most gorgeous rings that were sold, right? Even in another country. Stones are appraised, where did SM keep the appraisal?

Plus, a ring is usually insured. Often on the home insurance. Interesting what happened to ring insurance? Was it still paid off after her disappearance, or not?

Can we know more about the ring? Photo? It was probably upgraded at a certain time. Suzanne's friends should know more about the ring.

Do we even know the rock is real?

Awful thought....BM sold the original and gave her a fake?

I am not so sure. SM comes across like a woman knowing how to manage the money. Ring is not an investment, but a family heirloom. I think she chose the stone, that it had GIA certification, that she knew where to order a setting. Some rings are upgraded after 5 or 10 years of marriage. Her family and friends should definitely know about the ring.

There was a bone of contention. Listed on Suzanne's recently written list of grievances was that Barry not only had copious amounts of women as FB friends but he also melted his silver wedding band. He's a scoundrel.

Who knows the value or if it had been traded in for a larger diamond in more recent years?

Police Found Tranquilizer Dart Cap in Suzanne Morphew's Home After She Vanished

A retired FBI agent wrote in an affidavit that he believes Suzanne Morphew’s husband, Barry, was "chasing" her around the house the day before she vanished

IIRC, the job to broomfield was put together early Sunday Morning, per MG's interview.

That whole interview says a lot, if to be believed, which I do.

BM's actions on Saturday, following their "leave early" work Saturday morning, he was going home to make wife "happy"--but was in town by himself, how strange he was acting, then the Sunday morning call to pick up other co-worker and head to Broomfield.
Where they walked into a room smelling of bleach, wet towels and no tools/equipment to do the job,
in a a town that has a "NO WORK POLICY ON SUNDAYS,.. much less on Mother's day.
MG hung up the phone and thought "BM has had the worst night of his life"

it wasnt BM -- it was SUZANNE, having /experiencing the Worst night of HER LIFE. IMO ‘I’m not the other woman’: Second contractor speaks out about Suzanne Morphew investigation
I also wonder if the replacement of the Bobcat blade played into sending his employees out of town.
Certainly they would have noticed the new blade and started to ask questions about why the original blade had been replaced.

Remember BM did not bring the Bobcat to Broomfield, though it was needed to complete the repair of the faulty wall.

"The day she went missing, investigators also noted that the cutting blade on the bucket of Barry’s Bobcat loading machine were newly replaced."

I am recalling Suzanne's neighbor friend from the arrest affidavit said that Barry was known to hide and spy on Suzanne or her and Suzanne when they were hanging out.

I also recall that Barry was seen on surveillance throwing away a camouflage jacket on one of his many trash runs Sunday.

I wonder what was wrong with the jacket that Barry felt compelled to throw it away in a random trashcan in a different town? Blood stain perhaps?

Hiding in the woods in a camouflage jacket to catch Suzanne texting her "boyfriend" he had accused her previously of having.

Does anyone know if LE recovered any of the items Barry threw away?

Just the thought that SM was found mere weeks before snow starts to fall in CO is mind-blowing. And the coincidence (or not) that she was found due to a search for another person is crazy. I just can't shake the feeling that someone tipped off LE. For the experts.....now what? What is a realistic expectation in your own opinion of what may happen next? All JMO

Unfortunately, they never were able to recover those items. As for the jacket, I think that's what he was wearing when he buried Suzanne's body.

But, this hold back from discovery is essentially the crux of her complaint. All of it. I see what you're saying but I wouldn't refile this case and attempt to try it again without having an answer for every single thing she pointed out/laid out, and for which the judge slammed the state for not disclosing, penalizing them so severely that they really had no choice but to file that motion to dismiss.

On the depos, he could still plead the 5th since he still has criminal exposure. However, this is typically admissible in civil cases from which a jury is free to draw (and usually does) an adverse inference. And, circumstances have changed in the past week now.

The judge granted the motion to dismiss in April; she filed suit May 2nd, and now suddenly, there's a body and a new investigation. Not insinuating she'd otherwise have urged him to lie, but the calculus is now different imo. This is why I think she's been a bit unhinged with the "social media statements". She started her train down the tracks. Now she has to figure out how to navigate this new development. I don't think he can come out looking good pleading the 5th. She'll be fighting to narrow the scope - something that may prove difficult with her bucketful of Claims and boatload of defendants.

All jmo
I predict BM and IE have a falling out before the year end.

I suspect it's going to take considerable time to analyze the remains, put a case together, and figure out who is going to prosecute it. My hope is that it's the 12th District, as I have no confidence in Linda Stanley. In any event, I don't expect anything to happen for many months.

Just Suzanne.

I'm not at all sure what might likely have happened to Suzanne's ring/rings. It's often difficult to get rings off one's own fingers, let alone another person's. But hopefully the recent discovery of her body will give us firm information about that.

All MOO .... there was nothing wrong with the jacket. He had to get rid of the camouflage jacket because he was probs wearing it whilst digging on Saturday night.
On alibi day he had lots of showers because he had to get rid of any trace of soil on him.
