Please continue discussion here in accordance with The Rules:

Quick rundown of reminders from prior threads:

Rumors are not allowed.

A thread specific decision has been made by Tricia to allow members to discuss Barry Morphew and to speculate about him based on how he is being publicly treated by LE, information from MSM and other WS approved sources (except rumors). Do NOT sleuth him or his business and do NOT trash him.

Do not sleuth or make accusations against anyone else who is not an officially named POI/suspect.

Preview your posts to avoid broken quotes.

Lengthy personal anecdotes are off topic. Stay on topic.

Discuss the case and not each other; state your opinion and move one without arguing or bickering.

Random youtube videos or blogs are not allowed unless approval is given by Tricia or Admin.

Approved sources are MSM, LE, Profiling Evil podcast, Lauren Scharf podcast or social media, Investigation Discovery, Crimeonline, Tyson Draper (only the interview with Barry Morphew),

Do not discuss removed posts or question/challenge moderation on the thread. Doing so is subject to an automatic Time Out.

MOD NOTE - THIS POST LANDS AT RANDOM

While speculation based on the facts of the case is certainly allowed and encouraged, speculation based on no known facts in the case, such as the yet unnamed suspect could also be responsible for the Delphi murders (or other cases), is not allowed.

Please stick to the facts in this case.

Thank you :)

MOD NOTE

Re: CM's twitter asking the public to speculate on the identity of the rando wigged e-bike search spectator...

OUR rules here are clear: we cannot speculate by throwing random names/initials of people connected to this case, by insinuating they might be some sneaky person, up to no good, sneaking around search locations.

This crosses the line of our VICTIM FRIENDLY policy, which includes family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, etc. Sleuthing/naming/insinuating is against our rules here. Please post accordingly.

ADMIN NOTE:

Websleuths does not allow sleuthing of random individuals (i.e. guy with a wig?).

Although PE is an approved source, if the content of any approved source is not in accordance with Websleuths TOS or values, please do not discuss it.

Sleuth away behind the scenes but don't post about it here.

We had very limited information come to the media from BM and/or his spokesperson but the rewards for SM safe return were announced separately.

Nephew TN announced the reward by BM during his initial contact with media -- before BM was ever publically identified, and known only as "the husband."

The following day (about May 15), the generous reward match by a family friend was announced, also by TN.

I recall the $10k was added much later but it didn't receive much media attention. This did not come from the GET.

If interested, I'm sure the date can be found in the media thread.

MOO

ETA: @GordianKnot above provided a link.

Thanks for this and thanks for @GordianKnot for the link. Much appreciated.
I still can see a friend/family matching the reward announced by their family or friend without having the need to correct the original terms. Just following along and supporting a friend/family in time of great stress. Also because it was announced by TN. Not that it matters in the great scheme of things.

I’m still not convinced re premeditation one way or another. I also have difficulty to imagine that after 2 years in town somebody would have such friends who will knowingly get into cover up mode for him. It’s not impossible of course, but it’s not high up on my list. In that case I would rather go with misplaced guys’ loyalty or the need of wanting to believe in BM.

I so want SM to be found and laid to rest with dignity to give some sort of closure to friends and family. May the responsible party be punished accordingly. And I meen throw away the key forever and ever...

Maybe. There was a case mentioned in this thread yesterday and if I read it properly, the evidence was mostly video. They didn't find the body until something like 15 years after the conviction (buried on the perp's property - which had been searched many times, I think they eventually had GPR). I don't think there was much or any blood evidence.

I'm probably just being pie-in-the-sky hopeful on this one though, which is hard to do right now.
In that ^^^Casino case, they had lots of video of the young lady sitting next to the suspect while they played poker. It appears they randomly met that night. After a few hours, she gets up to leave and he follows, speaks to her a few moments, then walks out the door to the parking lot with her...

As they approach the lot, at the end of the video, we see him pull her very close around the waist and she seems to be trying to pull away a bit...last images of her we see....

She is never seen or heard from again, her phone is turned off right afterwards...She never calls her fiancé, even though she told him she'd call when she was on her way home...

LE figures out who the suspect is from the videos...goes to his home..interviews him, family man, respected business man...he allows them to question him and they take look at his Cadillac....

Christie Wilson's body found on killer's property 15 years after teen went missing, family marks 'day of peace'
As Wilson enjoyed herself at the casino, investigators had noticed a man repeatedly trying to strike a conversation with her throughout the night, and eventually, leaving with her at around 1 am. Having identified him as Garcia via Thunder Valley's player membership system, they obtained a warrant on his car and uncovered physical evidence that seemingly tied him to her disappearance, including her hair and spots of her blood.

They also spoke to his co-workers, who told them that a day after Wilson disappeared, Garcia had shown up to work with scratches on his hand and a bruise under one eye that he claimed he suffered after falling out of a tree he was trimming. Nevertheless, without a body, the evidence against him was still circumstantial, which meant prosecutors had the unenviable task of convincing a jury that he had murdered Wilson without definitive physical proof.

They succeeded. In 2007, Garcia was found guilty of first-degree murder and possession of a deadly weapon, a collapsible baton that was found in his car, making the case the first in Placer County history where prosecutors had secured a murder conviction without a body.

According to this:
- The EVI info not matches the timeline BM provided
- SM was seen in town Saturday around 4PM
- Saturday at Midnight SM’s Facebook friended a lot of guys AM’s age, totally out of character for SM
- BM was texting, rambling on the phone on the way to Broomfield 4am Sunday morning to an employee about the assembling a crew (MG?)
- This is why AM thinks she was hidden between Saturday at midnight and Sunday morning at 4
