Yes, and at least once for every procedure!

Wouldn't surprise me at all if there was some kind of medicaid/medicare fraud going on there.

    MOO.

LOL Vinny just called Miss Ruby the star of the show today. I wouldn't want to argue with her.

Probably has to recess because it's the witnesses' nap time.

Uh oh, here comes Sunny with her amazing insights...

Sadly, I think their loyalty to CM is because he was so personal with them, taking his time, etc. So much of the service we receive from doctors, dentists, salespeople (never around when we want them to be & often not very knowledgeable) is hurried and impersonal. I'm sure OTOH, some of us are fortunate enuff to have a good doctor or dentist.

I think, with the folks at the Acres place in Houston -- senior citizens, many on Soc Sec or welfare, accd'g to the witness -- they have had problems in obtaining good care, especially if they had little or no $$ to pay. CM apparently did take these type patients which says a lot about that side of him.... underlying reason? -- I suspect so, but that's kinda mean-spirited... So when these folks found CM, they were in medical heaven, in their thinking, so even Santa Claus would take a back seat. Understandable.

I wondered, watching CM today, if he wished he could go back there and never have had his fling with bling...

And if this is the best the DT has, then it's over for CM, too.

My handsome neurosurgeon sent flowers and a coffee cup with candy after both of my brain surgeries. And called me, too.

Glad I don't need to see him enny more, but I sure miss him! Saved my life & was a hunkeroo to boot!![IMG] (Aneurysms - left & right sides. Very scary)

I have IS on and Vinnie just said this is the best day so far for defense. How sad is that?

If this is the best day, they are sunk. Vinnie did not mention that.

    And another thang:

CM is putting multiple stents in these folks (13 in one of the witnesses). Sounds like a lot of 'em to me -- I am such an authority - hah! -- but I yam gonna ask my DH who has been in cardiology research for over 30 years & see if that's "normal." He's not an MD, but he knows his stuff & works with these folks every day.

CM stated that he was an interventional cardiologist, & this is what they do, and stents are used very very often, but 13 in one heart seems excessive. I dunno...but I'll check...

You raise an interesting point. I read an article in the NY Times a few years ago about how cardiac surgeons' incomes were decreasing with the increased use of stents in patients. Obviously, if a patient can be treated by stents rather than have bypass surgery, it's better for the patient. And there are some patients who are in such terrible health (age, diabetes, etc) that bypass is not an option. IIRC, the dude who had the 13 stents was not that old, and he testified that Murray said he couldn't do a treadmill stress test. But then he said he had something done in a hospital, with an entire team present, which I suspect was a chemically induced stress test. Meh, to me it says that Murray took better care of these folks than he did the guy who was his only patient at the rate of $150,000/month. It shows that he knew better than to do what he did with MJ. I'm sure the People will paint it that way in their closing argument.

Also, the tee vee folks are saying the defense is expected to wrap up their case tomorrow? I wonder if they only expect Dr. White to be on the stand briefly? :floorlaugh: And what about their "addiction specialist"? Hard to believe they could get two expert doctors on and off the stand in one day.

I wish I could recall where it was, but I read that a nurse at one of the hospitals said that CM was not liked by hospitsal staff.

DT should call a few nurses as character witnesses to get true testimonies regarding CM's character re him as a doctor.

IMO, Nurses are the best judges of what constitutes a good doctor.

Plus, they make the best recommendations, based on what they know about a doc...
how well he performs procedures, how quickly he respondes to pages, whether he has the "God Complex"... etc.

I was under the impression Dr. Murray was able to obtain Propofol for Michael because he is a licensed medical doctor.

Did Nurse Lee testify that her nursing credentials gave her the authority to obtain propofol when MJ told her he wanted some for personal use in his home?

My Opinion Only: These elderly patients from Acres Home may have been poor - but their medical care was being paid by someone.....probably Medicare.
I don't believe for a moment that Dr. Conrad Murray was treating these patients for "free" or that he was paying the hospital expenses for these patients out of his own pocket.

Maybe I am jaded because of my profession, but Miss Ruby didn't make me glad to be alive. She actually struck me as someone who wanted to tell the jury what they should do, and that, IMHO, is not an admirable quality.

Now the tee vee talking heads are pushing the story that CM may want to take the stand. It would seal his fate if he did. I remember the great orator, Dr. Fred Neulander, who thought he could talk his way out of a murder conviction. It got him a hung jury the first time, but he now sits in a NJ prison for the rest of his sorry life. If CM does take the stand, it's got to be because he wants to tell a different story than he told the cops. That, alone, will destroy his credibility. And who knows what other dirt Walgren has on him?

They won't if Flanagan is doing the questioning. On the other hand, he might get shot down quickly if he is going to ask questions that are not in their area of expertise. We can only hope.
