Then there is this study by the University of Maryland:

IHV Researchers Use Climate to Predict Spread of COVID-19

“Based on what we have documented so far, it appears that the virus has a harder time spreading between people in warmer, tropical climates,” said study leader Mohammad Sajadi, MD, associate professor of medicine, UMSOM, physician-scientist at IHV, and a member of GVN.

Good. If your governor balks, tell him KY is making changes. He can confer with Gov Beshear, lol.

BREAKING NEWS: US Rep Mario Diaz-Balart is the first member of Congress to test positive for coronavirus

The Florida Democrat said in a statement that he has been self-quarantining in Washington since Friday and has not returned home to Florida because his wife's pre-existing conditions put her at exceptionally high risk.

The congressman said he developed a fever and headache on Saturday evening and was notified 'a short while ago' that he tested positive.

Atlanta today...I'm in the grocery with mask and gloves....not another sole in the place had anything. They were crowding each other and there is barely anything in the store.......no dairy, no eggs, no beef, no sandwich meat, no canned fruit, very little canned vegetables.
Plenty of fresh produce, cookies, cereal, and pop tarts though.

I’m going to go and pick up some more pet food for my menagerie and have my last cafe latte for a long time (I think I’m addicted) :(

Awesome. The hard part for me would be picking a dog. I’d want them all.

Nice thing you’re doing. Enjoy. .

I'm going to guess that date was chosen because that is when Florida school spring breaks would have ended and the students have resumed school. It's not the locals that are abusing the beaches, in my social circle anyway. There are actually a number of areas that I can think of along both coasts that you can only park 3-4 cars, walk through the palmetto bushes and be on a deserted beach. (I won't reveal those locations so don't ask. LOL!!!)

My friends have done the following with their kids since spring break started: visited the botanical gardens, hiked state parks, kayaked along the bays, and my own 26 year old went fossiling up the river. I told my friend today that she should start "Emily's H.I.T. Program - Husbands In Training Program. She's been doing hands on activities with them. It was so cute to see their happy grins making homemade caramels today. They are teens (13 & 17).

Well poptarts last forever, IIRC. I bought a huge amount of quinoa, (which no one was paying attention to), since it is low on the glycemic scale, has balanced protein and lots of minerals and goes great with everything from cereal to dinner to smoothies. The best advice I've read so far (maybe on here, I am reading in so many places) is the following. Just pretend like you are defensive driving, try not to get hit by others, yield instead of rage reacting, just stay back and let the silly unprotected people alone, if you can.

I did that this morning. My local and small business coffee shop shut down this afternoon. Sad for me. Sadder for them.

And Chewy.com delivered kitty rations today.

This has probably been shared already, but it was my first time seeing it and it bears repeating.

When there are too many people who need respirators, and decisions have to be made about who should have treatment, it will be the partiers rather than the older people who were careful.

Numbers won't do it. Neighbor went to large Costco that was only allowing 600 in store. (He was in the 600.) People ran through the aisles, stripping all they could carry.
