Let our members know about any crime-related TV shows that are being aired this week. This thread requires a brief description of the show along with a link to information on when and where the show will be aired. A link to the Websleuths case thread is helpful, but not required.

Thank you to BetteDavisEyes for this idea. :highfive:

The Positively True Adventures of the Alleged Texas Cheerleader-Murdering Mom (1993) (TV)

The title is almost a summary itself. Based on the true story of a Texas mom who tries to hire a hitman (through her ex's brother) to kill either or both a cheerleader and her mother. With the intended victims out of the way, Wanda's daughter gets the chance to become a cheerleader. When the media get hold of the story, Wanda's trial turns into a media circus. Written by Rob Hartill.

When her daughter Shanna is disqualified from competing for her Junior High School cheer leading squad, Wanda Holloway tries to get her ex-husband's brother, Terry Harper, to hire a hitman to incapacitate Shanna's rival or the girl's mother. He wants nothing to do with it and after several unsuccessful attempts, finally manages to convince the police that Wanda is serious. She is eventually arrested and charged with conspiracy to commit murder but when the media get hold of the story, it becomes a sensation, making front page news around the world. Based on a true story.

Today at 2:00PM (EST) on Lifetime Movie Network: Murder on Pleasant Drive.

After Fran Smith disappears one day in mysterious circumstances, Fran's daughter Deanna and Fran's sister, Sherrie endlessly search for her with enduring hope. The most likely suspect in Fran's disappearance is her husband John, but without a body, neither Deanna or Sherrie can prove that murder, much less a crime, has even been committed. With the support of Sherrie, Deanna embarks on an eleven-year search to trace John's past, eventually uncovering a 25 year-old case of a missing person that involved John's first wife, who too, disappeared under suspicious circumstances. Using this lead, Deanna and Sherrie must use all their evidence to bring John to justice. Based on a true story.

My Sister Is Missing: Bringing A Killer To Justice
Sherrie Gladden-Davis (sister of Fran Gladden-Smith)

Overview
On October 1, 1991, Fran Gladden-Smith disappeared without a trace from her home in Princeton, New Jersey, and suspicion immediately turned to her new husband, John David Smith III. In a highly unusual move, the police allowed her family to be involved in the investigation — as long as they didn't interfere with law enforcement. Over the next several years, Fran's sister Sherrie Gladden-Davis played a deadly game of cat-and-mouse, tracking Smith and his activities across the United States. She could go where police couldn't — and she dedicated herself to helping authorities get the evidence they needed to unravel the mystery of her sister's disappearance. My Sister Is Missing is Sherrie Gladden-Davis's harrowing account of the search for her sister's killer, and the inspiring story of her extraordinary path to justice.
