CT - Jennifer Dulos, 50, New Canaan, Media, Maps, Timeline, *NO DISCUSSION*

Dulos has arrived at Hartford Superior Court for the start of the civil trial. Fotis is expected to take the stand & testify at some point. Defense attorney Norm Pattis is also here to ensure his client isn’t asked questions about his wife’s disappearance.
@News12CT

Dulos has arrived for the civil trial at Hartford civil court accompanied by his sister from Greece. Three of his attorneys are present right now including Norm Pattis.
The expectation is that attorney Richard Weinstein will call Fotis Dulos as the first witness to get his story on the record before he lets Dulos see what other evidence he will present.

@SpencerSays
We also learned last night that a deposition for a former Dulos bookkeeper and Nanny focused on some questions in the criminal case. Nanny was asked several questions about where she was when Jennifer disappeared, as well as the children’s bodyguards and if any were Albanian.

@davealtimari

Trial underway and Weinstein calls attorney John Schmitt who was executor of Hillard Farbers estate but is better known as Bill Cosby’s lawyer.
Weinstein was using Schmitt to just get some documents into evidence including Hillard Farbers will and a new trust that was established in 2019 after Jennifer Dulos disappeared.

    Next witness in the Farber/Dulos is the accountant who prepared the tax returns for the Fore Group, Fotis Dulos’ home building business.
    Accountant testifies that the 2016 tax return included notation of a 2 million dollar loan from Hilliard Farber, Jennifer Dulos’ father.
    He then goes through the Fore Group’s previous years’ tax returns, which also note loans from Hilliard Farber

    estate lawyer testified that Hilliard Farber set up trust in his will to collect unpaid loan amount from Fotis.

    loans from Farber fluctuated between $2.9 million and $1.7 million from 2007 to 2017

    Accountant now testifying that Fore Group (Dulos' construction company) listed $2.24 million loan from Farber on tax returns
  2. Joseph Urbanksi the Dulos accountant said in 2017 when he showed Dulos the tax return dulos asked him to move the $1.74 million loan amount from accounts payable to equity and when Urbanski refused he found someone else to do the tax return.
We just heard from Fotis Dulos’ sister Rena. She said her brother could not have harmed Jennifer.

Accountant also concerned because Dulos listed himself as 100 percent owner of Fore every year. Then he wanted 2017 return to reflect someone else having equity to remove outstanding loan
2nd Accountant testifying now he couldn't find backup documents to verify some payments Dulos claimed he made

@davealtimari

Dulos apparently built a guest house on the Farbers Pound Ridge, NY that he is now saying he was never paid for. State police searched the Pound Ridge property in days after Jennifer Farber Dulos disappeared

@AishaMbTV
So far Farber’s attorney has called up the co executor of Farber estate, Fotis Dulos’ company accountant, trustee to loans and now para legal at Weinstein law firm.

    Accountant managing trust for outstanding loan payments "willing to accept" $1.74 mill as the amount Dulos still owes to Hilliard Farber's estate.

    Accountant: payments and remaining balance on loans need to match outstanding from the previous year's tax returns.

    Accountant says in 2017, Dulos wanted unpaid loan to Farber changed, becoming equity. Accountant said he refused, and Dulos hired new accountant for Fore group

    So far, an estate lawyer testified that Hilliard Farber set up trust in his will to collect unpaid loan amount from Fotis.

A paralegal from Weinsteins office who reviewed Fore Group bank records from 1/1/18 through June of 2019 testified that Dulos paid himself more than $2.2 million during that 18-month period.

    Dulos being called to the stand by his attorney. Weinstein rests after submitting nanny Lauren Almeida’s deposition. Judge is now explaining to Dulos that he has pending criminal charges against him and can confer with attorneys if he needs to.

Her quote: We just heard from Fotis Dulos’ sister Rena. "She said her brother could not have harmed Jennifer".

PS. If one of the members of the Press in attendance today could confirm the NAME and Relationship of RENA to FD for the record it would be appreciated as we have seen at least 3 names used! Fotis Dulos says Jennifer's father, Hilliard Farber, was "like a second father to me," incredibly supportive of the business, and encouraged him to start the business.
@News12CT
Dulos says the arrangement became more relaxed with “no obligation” to repay.

Back and forth between Gloria Farber’s attorney and Fotis Dulos about documents defense says were recently discovered and not part of initial discovery. Involves invoices that would reduce balance of money given by Farber family to Dulos
@WTNH

Judge sides with defense, says new records are permitted. Fotis back on stand now
@WTNH
Fotis Dulos testifies that I’m the beginning, the money arrangement with Hilliard Farber contained promisorry notes. But the relationship changed as Farber gained more confidence in him. In 2010, “there was no obligation to pay any of the funds that were advanced.”

Fotis Dulos testifies at civil trial in financial dispute with mother of estranged wife, Jennifer Farber Dulos, missing since May
Dulos testified that his father-in-law, Hilliard Farber, was like a second father to him and encouraged him to start his own building business, which later became The Fore Group Inc. The Superior Court trial before Judge Cesar Noble could decide whether Dulos owes the estate about $2.54 million.
Attorney Richard Weinstein, who is representing Gloria Farber, Farber Dulos’ mother, is arguing that loans made to The Fore Group between 2004 and 2016 must be paid back to the estate while attorney William Murray, who is representing Dulos, will argue he owes nothing because the money from his then-father-in-law were gifts to help him with his business.
Before his testimony began Judge Noble made sure that Dulos understood that he was facing criminal charges and his testimony could be used against him. He also said if he had any concerns about a question he could consult with his criminal attorney, Norm Pattis, who was present in the courtroom.
Pattis said he was at Tuesday’s trial because he wanted to ensure that Weinstein did not ask his client questions about the disappearance of Farber Dulos.

Dulos' attorney again asks Fotis about how the business relationship between him and Hilliard Farber changed. Dulos says in 2010, after the birth of his 5th child, Farber told him that in the future, "any advancements were not loans." @News12CT
Defense attorney and Gloria Farber’s attorney continue to battle over SURPRISE invoices Fotis Dulos’s attorney has now presented in court
@WTNH

@AielloTV

Trial has resumed after mid-day break. Dulos says plaintiff has mischaracterized payments made for construction of Farber guesthouse when tallying what he allegedly owes.
@davealtimari

Attorney Murray going through series of invoices for work Fore group did on Pound Ridge guest house that appear to show several of what Weinstein claimed were loans actually just payments to Fore group for work done at Pound ridge. Already laid out about half million in invoices.

Dulos' attorney has produced invoices that show this--invoices that appear to be a surprise to the plaintiff's attorney, Richard Weinstein. He says those were never turned over to him until this morning.

@SabinaKuriakose

“That’s his problem...”—Fotis Dulos says the invoices should not be a surprise to Farber’s attorney, & that they were not required in discovery. Plaintiff’s attny Richard Weinstein is irate
@WTNH

10 min break for Farber’s lawyer to decide his next move re: new invoices
@WTNH

The Greek real-estate developer looked confused and concerned — and his lawyer put his head in his hands — in Hartford court as a witness revealed that Fotis bought flights to Fort Lauderdale and Miami in Florida, Argentina, Puerto Rico and the British Virgin Islands for himself, his gal pal and her daughter as far back as December 2015.
As part of a forensic examination of Fotis’s finances, a paralegal employed by Farber’s lawyer told the civil-court judge that the real-estate developer lived a lavish jet-set lifestyle with his mistress.

In December 2017, Fotis purchased JetBlue tickets for him, Traconis and her daughter, Nicole, the court heard.

In March 2017, he bought American Airlines tickets to Miami for him and his lover, who were off again to Argentina in August 2018.

In December, he splashed out on a room in the St Regis in Florida and bought flights for him, Traconis and her teen daughter.

Later that month, Fotis also purchased tickets for him and his lover to San Juan in Puerto Rico and St Thomas in the British Virgin Islands.
