Plead not guilty. $5M bond.
*Was in federal custody in his home state of Maine U.S. District Court where he is accused of illegally storing an arsenal of firearms; in total, Karun owned 34 pistols, 14 rifles, 11 revolvers & one 12-gauge shotgun. Plead not guilty.
*Charged (12/14/19 in Maine) with possessing a gun with an obliterated serial number, stemmed from allegedly owning a rifle that had its serial number filed away.
DNA Match; Karun faces a life sentence without the possibility of parole if convicted.

I just looked at this case... And im so glad that they have made an arrest! That poor little girl had a rough devastating last moments here on earth and finally she'll have some justice! It just goes to show that there are still some police willing to do the work no matter how long it has been! I tried to look his case up (i am in ct too) but i cant find it i believe he just went to court 5 days ago? I hope she gets the justice she deserves!

Maine man arrested in 1986 slaying of Connecticut girl walking home from school

... Public records show he (Marc Karun) previously lived in several towns in Connecticut, including Norwalk. The Bangor Daily News reports he moved to Maine about six years ago. He is listed on Maine's sex offender registry as having a 1989 conviction for sexual assault in Connecticut.

Norwalk police said two of their officers were in Maine on Wednesday to execute an arrest warrant for Karun but declined to give further details. Officials previously said they were reviewing evidence in the Flynn case using recent advancements in DNA technology.

Norwalk police said they had received numerous tips over the years as the case went unsolved. At one point, a flyer was made showing sketches of three white males with long hair who were seen near the school in a green vehicle with New York plates. But police said it was possible the men weren't involved...

Stetson man accused in 1986 Connecticut killing indicted on child *advertiser censored* charge

A man arrested in Stetson nearly two years ago as Connecticut police tried to solve a 33-year-old cold case is now facing a child *advertiser censored* charge in addition to the charges that he sexually assaulted and strangled an 11-year-old girl in 1986.

Marc Karun, 55, of Stetson was indicted for possession of child *advertiser censored* on Wednesday in U.S. District Court in Bangor. The charge he faces is a felony punishable by up to 20 years in prison.

If convicted, Karun faces up to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

Karun, a lifetime sex offender in Maine, had been convicted of sexually assaulting or kidnapping four female victims both before and after Flynn’s murder, according to court records. While there was no conclusive physical evidence tying Karun to Flynn, authorities noticed that his methods in those previous convictions were similar to those used in Flynn’s killing.
