Former Orange-Osceola Chief Judge Belvin Perry, known for presiding over Casey Anthony's murder trial, will represent the family of a Maryland man who was fatally shot by a police officer after authorities say he reached for a gun, Orlando attorney Matt Morgan announced Thursday.

Belvin and Morgan are looking into a wrongful death lawsuit and considering the "suspicious circumstances" of 25-year-old Fednel Rhinvil's death on March 3, Morgan said.

Rhinvil's family has ties to Central Florida, Morgan said.
