Now that Darlie's team has somewhat pointed the finger at Darin, saying the dna on Darin's jeans should be tested due to the possibility of holding incriminating evidence............... ..........just how nasty do you think it is going to get? To date, other than reading this document, I haven't heard those two turning on each other. The dna request has been ignored. Her appeal has been denied, but the original request for that specific item has just been ignored. If they do actually follow through with this request, can you just imagine what we are going to hear? I think Texas should at LEAST do that much. It wouldn't take a new trial for the additional evidence to be tested. And wouldn't it be INTERESTING if something did show up? :D OHHHH :D IMO...if this happens....they will turn on each other like wild animals. ;)

what imcriminating evidence could it hold? other than the boys blood which could be explained?? it certainly would be interesting to see them turn on each other- the only way the truth would finally be pieced together!

The type of droplets verses smears and transfers, etc, could be important evidence against Darin. I don't see how it would help Darlie though unless she is going to abandon him and point fingers at him being the killer, not her. They could use any evidence against Darin to free her but they would have to still prove how the blood evidence on her shirt got there in some innocent way. So far the defense has never even tried to do that, and I have never seen anyone prove it in any other case either. So I bet that will be the real demon in the fight to free her. Just using Darin as a scapegoat won't be enough to free her or convict him. They are going to have to really do something, really prove something to make it work. Right now it is just talk.

Well, according to D and D only one of the boy's blood should be on D's jeans. However, the stress of the dna tests actually ordered might send Darin into a tail spin....and then the cat dog fight MIGHT be on. As you point out, it is the only way to even get PART of the truth. I would like to see what a little push would do to the united front they put up. Bet it would look something like this....:croc: Also, I wonder why Texas is ignoring the dna request? Surely the protest will be horrible if they don't give her that much. Then if nothing pans out from the last ditch effort dna tests....we will soon be watching her on T.V. Not may are getting commuted to life down here. They killed Karla Fay Tucker....they will kill her too. They just killed Frances Newton.

No....they did request the tests. I saw the document. But, you are correct in as far as saying it is not going to free her. However, if they do start turning on each other, we might find out more of the truth....if either one can remember how to TELL the truth. LOL. Either way, I still would find it amusing to see the reaction of Darin. ;)

Right, they (the defense) have requested the tests, but the state won't cooperate. So they haven't conducted any tests yet. It will take the results of those tests along with some theories by experts and courtroom demonstrations to show exactly how the evidence against her now is incorrect. Or at least have another explanation as to how it could have occurred. Right now we have the state's experts and their demonstrations and tests unchallenged to prove the case against her. The defense has never shown us another explanation for that same evidence.

I agree with you that more of the truth might come out if Darin is used as a scapegoat for her. He doesn't strike me as the type with enough guts to take the heat over accusations that he is the real killer. He may play along for a while but as soon as it gets steamy, we just may hear from him about what did happen that night.

If he didn't have any involvement in this crime, he is a darned fool to pose as the bad guy and keep his mouth shut. The sooner he talks the better for him.

Another thing that has been kinda strange. He has been sooooo quiet all these years. No GF, no nothing. It is as if he has fallen off the face of the earth. I wonder what he will do after Darlie is gone. I think he is just laying low waiting for it to all play out. I am sorry.........I DO think he knows what happened.

O, me too. I think if he were not involved, he would have abandoned her long ago, no matter how much he loved her at one time. Killing a guy's kids, esp his favorite son, is a real love destroyer. At least it is for most guys.

I agree with you that he is laying low until it all plays out. Then I think we will hear the real story, via a book and possibly movie deal.

IMO.....helping her cover up the crime makes him guilty as well. If he has done this...his goofy butt needs to be in jail also. Both of them make me sick.

I don't know how involved he is, but I sure don't understand how he could be so cavalier about the death of his sons. Covering up for her was a major decision. Standing in his front yard throwing the toys he'd gotten off the dying wreaths well wishers had left in memory of the boys and doing it just 14 days after their horrific deaths is beyond the pale for me. People say he grieved more than Darlie. When? How do you go from supporting children financially, living with them daily, interacting with them daily, to the way he acted after they died? I really don't get him at all. My ex hated paying child support and didn't for the most part. He let his kids go without and was not a good father. But if anything like this had happened, he would have hated me with a passion or anyone else who had done it. He would have been so devastated, I can't even imagine how he would handle it. I hope someday Darin tells us why he did what he did. I sure would like to hear his explanation. I just don' know a man who would respond the way he has.

Good answer, AC!! Excellent. I hadn't thought of that. If her blood is on his pants, how does he explain it getting there if he went straight to Devon without touching her?

My guess is that he will stick to that story of escorting her out of the house with the paramedic even though we know he had to be across the street at the time. We might see a whole new bunch of editing on their stories if these tests are ever done.

Just adding my 2 cents here. The only way I can think of that it would show if he cut her or not would be ithe size and shape and location of the blood. And that is only if there is no other explanation for how it could exist there.

someone said they could be looking at the blood splatter--and i was just thinking that in the blood bath of the night- and dont understand how they can make heads nor tails out of it now- thinking if it had any bearing at the time, it would have been noted....goody- do you think darlie is going to turn on him?

I wish I could make a good educated guess. Surely by now she is realizing that she will never free herself by protecting him if that is what she is doing. Not to say that she is innoence and he guilty, but I am assuming that there is a reason she hasn't turned on him and what else could that be but her need to protect him for some reason? If so, turning on him is inevitable. Sooner or later it has to be every man for himself. Unless she is willing to be executed to keep him off the hotseat. I cannot see a self absorbed person doing that. So maybe it boils down to just how self absorbed she is.

that is a good point that she wont be freeing herself by protecting him--could she have one last ounce of "mother" in her that says she knows she did, even though he tried to help cover...but he does have drake to take care of?

Blood drops make different shapes according to how they fly off of an object or drip down from it, whether the object is moving or standing still, how fast or how slow it is moving, tails will point in the direction the blood was moving, telling an expert from where it came. I don't know what to expect on pants. Haven't seen that one yet, but we picked the blood apart on her shirt, on the floor etc and learned a lot in that process. So we will have to wait for the experts. Whatever the case, it will be more evidence to add to our sleuthing pile and that is always interesting.

the whole process sometimes blows my mind--I can understand a shirt with a Pattern...but just a "blood soaked piece of clothing" ---my god how do they figure it out?
