GEORGETOWN, Del.- A Lewes pediatrician is facing more than two dozen child sex charges after being accused of videotaping himself forcibly performing sexual acts on girls, ages 3-months to 13, at his practice, according to court documents obtained by WBOC.

On Friday, Delaware State Police arrested Dr. Earl Bradley, 56, of Lewes, for the second time this week. He now faces eight counts of first-degree rape, three counts of second-degree rape, 14 counts of sexual exploitation of a child by photo or film and endangering the welfare of a child, police said.
....

Court documents say multiple videos were filmed between Aug. 7, 2009, and Dec. 13, 2009, and found on computer thumb drives or in digital format. The videos, which range in length from 20 seconds to several minutes, were filmed in an exam room, in the basement or a separate building, not attached to the main office, where Bradley took patients for treats, the documents say.

Delaware crime: Previous concerns led police to doctor
Pediatrician arrested after third allegation

Police received complaints from the parents of at least two other children who were patients of Lewes pediatrician Dr. Earl B. Bradley before allegations from a third this month led officers to move in and file rape charges against him.

Investigators actively looked into the two earlier allegations but found there was not enough evidence to support any criminal charges or even request a search warrant, said state police Cpl. Thomas Guarini.

More charges filed against Lewes pediatrician in rape case

State police detectives today filed additional rape charges against a Lewes pediatrician charged earlier this week with raping a 2-year-old patient.

Dr. Earl B. Bradley, 56, who was released from jail Thursday, surrendered to detectives this morning at Troop 4.

He was charged with four counts of first-degree rape where the victim is less than 16-years-old, one count of second-degree rape, three counts of sexual exploitation of a child by photo or film, and endangering the welfare of a child -- all felony offenses.

IMO, there should be laws that double or triple punishment for pedo pediatricians -- locking them up & throwing away the key doesn't seem like enough :furious: :furious: :furious: :furious:

Why else would a busy pediatrician take a child out of the examination room to another room? I mean every dr that I took my kids to, the doc didn't even give out the treats, the nurse did. But even the nurse would bring the treats to the exam room or the kids picked them up at the desk.

I mean I don't have a problem with doc giving out the treats, I think it is a good idea. But why remove the kid from the room? Most docs I ever met were too busy to take the time to even interact too much with the kids or escort them here and there.

It has gotten so you can't trust your child with anyone. Not the dr, the preacher, the teacher, the neighbor, the neighbors kids, the grandfather, the father or the mother. Really it seems like everyone is dangerous any more.

Texas Mist and Mysteriew--You know me. I always have something to say. I don't. I just want to fall on my knees and smack my head on the floor.

Babies?? How could he? He knows all too well about the developing child. He violated these babies and their parents' trust. I'm really shaken by this.

Are we going to be constrained to raising our children in a "bubble" with a 24 hour/day surveillance system trained on their little bodies while they play with their toys?

I'm not happy tonight.

I hope his MD licence is considered an aggravating condition in his sentencing. Just for the reasons Missizzy describes. At least he probably has assets and bank accounts that can be nicely drained to pay for therapy for the children :(

I highly doubt his antics were limited to his patient base.
Think of his own kids, grandkids, nieces, nephews, is he active at church, any other community groups (most doctors are if not for the marketing alone).

And he is out on bail?
Very nice, he should be executed and every penny he owns distributed to his victims.

What's frightening is that I don't go looking for these stories!! :shocked2:

After reading about & seeing his Mickey Mouse jacket in that pic, ITA he probably has more vics than his patients.....this is one twisted, evil monster.

I hope the state of Delaware can keep him locked up forever as he's obviously a dangerous predator who will forever be a menace to children who come within 10 ft of him.

Has anybody worked in a doctor's office? How could nurses that worked there not have a clue that something wasn't right about this freak's actions?

Please we had to look at this POS's ugly pastey face on the news tonight.

One child was a few months old. What kind of freakin treat was he saying he was going to give an infant?

As horrific as this I don't think we should judge the parents although I caught myself saying "No freakin way would I have let my child go any place with this guy without me there". We're unfortunately still conditioned to trust people in certain professions. Some people still revere Doctor's and think they are the closest thing to God on earth. So it's possible the parents or whoever took the kids to be seen figured it was no big deal. I'm just guessing.

Now we need our list. Don't trust the clergy, the Doctor, the camp counselor, the mail carrier. I mean pastey face just proved that wolves come in sheep's clothing. PLUS, you're doing the right thing trying to care for your child's health and ya get this backward, a*s. I hope he suffers and suffers, and suffers.

I find it very strange he was able to take the children somewhere else without any adult present. Didn't this doctor have nurse assistants and would they not notice he was taking little patients somewhere by himself? I would think that should have raised an alarm right then and there.

Any time I've been to a male doctor, there always was a female nurse assistant present. I find it very strange this guy was taking children somewhere else and no one raised an alarm just based on this alone.

This freak is scary looking, alright.....he looks nothing like any pediatrian I've ever seen....in fact, lots of little kids are very scared of men with lots of facial hair....poor little things.

And poor you Filly for having to see "it" on TV.

The list is getting longer -- bus driver, day care worker, day care worker's son, swim coach, track coach -- just *any* body.

I wish people were as aware of the pandemic of child predators as they are of H1N1.

Lock this pervert in a room with the fathers.

Guarantee you, if it was my kid, this vile, slimeball bastard would be praying for jail.

We can't blame the parents. We just can't. We are all conditioned to trust to some degree....and I know some will jump in and say that they NEVER leave their child alone...but that's not healthy in the least IMO. We have to trust or else our children will never learn to trust and will not become social beings. Actually, these children did the right thing and their parents did the right thing. They communicated. It took far longer than anyone of us would like, but he did get caught. The babies spoke up and their Mommas and Daddies listened and got help.

This guy actually has a very dangerous victim base. Toddlers are not known for their ability for keeping secrets or for being intimidated into silence. I wonder if that excited him even more? I agree that even the name of the clinic is creepy. But think about it, if another parent had recommended this guy or you read a decent review or he was convenient and the staff was friendly......why not?

Most of us, until we've been badly badly burned, are a trusting lot. We want to trust. We want to believe that everyone is good. Really, would life be very fulfilling if we went around constantly on guard? That's how I imagine parents living in Mogadishu and I don't blame them. I also don't envy them. But this was Delaware, for heaven's sake.

When a man goes through 10-12 years of med school and has a clinic, your antennae are just not going to be up...especially if he's making your toddler giggle and being charming and kind. Remember, the SO's are not vile looking creatures...not until we rip their masks off.

My female doctor has a female assistant present for any physical contact. I am not blaming the parents on any level but I would hope that the vast majority of parents know that there is no reason for your child to be taken out of your sight during a routine exam. This is not an emergency situation where they whisk the patient off to an area where you will not only be traumatized by what they need to do, you will be in the way and prevent them from doing their job.

In the dental office which had no closed off areas that were not visible the parents were invited to accompany their children through every step (though it was easier in some cases if they chose not to). Even for xrays where everyone stepped out of the room they were literally feet away and could hear everything going on.

I am not trusting by nature and I hope that some of the trusting parents out there see this story and know that a doctor who wants to take your child out of your sight for a routine procedure should set your spidey senses in to high alert. I think some people are too afraid to offend someone else, especially someone they see in a "superior" position.

Right? Thanks Texas. Yep they had his face all over the news up here.

More importantly I want to agree with MissIzzy in that we shouldn't blame the parents. Again, I can tell you there is no way in he*l I left my child with any Doctor male or female alone. Then again as a survivor of child sexual assault I let it dictate how I raised my child. If you ask her now and she's 20 she will tell you it was awful. I mean I trusted only my parents. Not siblings, teachers, coaches, neighbors, and of course not the random nut job trolling the streets. I didn't let my child stand out back in our own yard when I'd go in to put a load of wash in just six feet away.

Sorry for the tangent. As a victim though I know my own mother who by the way was one of the "over protective" parents and my father bless his soul a cop/Detective would have never, ever, ever let someone harm me. It takes a mere few minutes and poof the rest of your life and the lives of your offspring and family are dictated by one monster.

Texas Mist was correct in people know more about this flu then Doctor Pervert. I've found as well parents who are aware often don't take percautions anyway.

The evil creep in all of this is this jerk. He's been in practice a long time too. God forbid. I saw a link about an advocate group that helped the little 2 year old. I'll go back and try to find it.

what a sick SOB

<snip>

In 2001, when Dr. Earl Bradley opened his pediatrics office on Route 1, he said he wanted to create a place where people would feel like family.

The office featured a theater where cartoons were shown and a Disney-themed examination room, and Bradley told the Cape Gazette he liked to distribute bumblebee snugglers to his tiny patients. One room he said he was fond of was dedicated to painter and illustrator Norman Rockwell.

“One of the things that attracted me to pediatrics was the old Norman Rockwell depiction of a doctor,” Bradley said. He also said he “wanted to have people wonder what crazy Dr. Bradley will do next. I want kids, as they grow up, to have all different memories of coming here.”

His patients are likely to have memories, but some may not be the kind Rockwell depicted.

....

According to court documents, in an interview with the Children’s Advocacy Center, the victim, three months shy of her third birthday, went to visit Bradley’s office Dec. 7 for a checkup on a condition she has had since birth. Bradley examined the victim with her mother in the room. After the examination, Bradley carried the victim out of the room. Her mother stayed in the examination room because she trusted Bradley as her child’s doctor.

Bradley took the victim to a toy room in the basement of the office, something he often did to allow children to get a toy or candy after an examination. The two returned to the examination room two minutes later, and then headed back down to the basement, according to court documents. When they returned, the child had candy.

After lunch with her mother, the victim told her mother Bradley had hurt her while in the basement. The mother called the father, who said his daughter had complained of the same thing after being examined by Bradley Oct. 28.

How annoying that the first two allegations didn't even rate an investigation or search warrant. If this was alleged by two different families who didn't know each other, then why the heck wasn't it enough? This type of thing will never stop unless the good ole boy network doesn't stop. Taking children to a different building or basement and the secretaries didn't notice anything? Yeah, right. They should have been searching those locations for blood or other suspicious items and watching that pervert.
