Here's a story for all the hardworking single moms and dads who don't get court ordered child support payments. There may be hope from good judges like this one! The first link is the latest article and the rest are video's from the TV station. He was arrested in January and is still in jail looking at 3 years from the judge.

You know I just dont agree with putting then in jail....they cannot pay child support while in jail...I say develop a program that puts them in a work environment,(picking up liter on highways, cleaning animal shelters, whatever county work needs done) the money made goes to what is owed and once it is all paid back then they are free to go with the understanding that if they do not continue with the payments then they go to jail......

Better yet, put them in prison with work release during the day and all the money going toward their debt.

From one of the links above:

Quesada said the only remedy he has left is to turn Earley into a "poster child" and send him to prison as an object lesson for other deadbeat dads who face few consequences in the civil courts when they willfully fall behind in support payments.

My daughter has a dead-beat dad. I am actually going to file papers on him again tomorrow. The last time we went through this, the judge kept giving my ex time to find a job or get out of rehab and so on. Finally the judge sentenced my ex to a year in jail and my exes mom had to pay 25% of what was owed to me in child-support to bail him out. I have not gotten a dime since then and I am taking him back to court. If he wont work and I am not going to get child support anyway, he may as well be sitting in jail and getting sober. That is how I feel. I struggle, work 2 jobs and he collects welfare and lives with his grandparents all because he is an alcoholic. I do not feel sorry for him anymore. I feel sorry for my 13 year-old daughter who now just calls him a sperm donor and she didnt hear that from me.

Sometimes it takes alot to get them to straighten out. The children or ex wives don't deserve this. My father never paid a dime and we suffered because of it. Send them to jail.

This dad was a deadbeat extraordinaire. Men who have the opportunity to pay some CS but pay none, deserve to go to jail they should be jailed until they can pay 50% of the arrears. There are so many men that owe 50k+ in CS walking the streets. Anyone that owes that much will NEVER pay. For men that owe that much, they belong in jail because they will not pay anyways. Now, women need to be a little more selective on who they have kids with. Normally there are clear signs the guy is a loser long before the pregnancy happens.
