'People should use trees to commit suicide instead of trains' People with suicidal tendencies in Botswana have been asked to throw themselves out of trees instead of in front of trains. The country's Minister for Works and Transport, Tebelelo Seretse, has advised people to use trees instead. She made the plea in a newspaper based in the capital Gaborone. "I am appealing to the people not to use the trains to kill themselves. If people want to commit suicide they should use trees not our trains," she said. "I am sick of these people who throw themselves in front of the trains. The drivers are people - why turn them into murderers?" She has offered counselling to drivers who have to dealt with suicides, says the South African Broadcasting Corporation.
