Kingman man charged with killing of Debra Lynn Childers

A 35-year-old Kingman man has been arrested and charged on suspicion of killing a 64-year-old woman and concealing her body in a duffel bag for several months, the Kingman Police Department said Saturday.

Police arrested Brett Daniel Puett at around 5 p.m. Friday on felony charges of second-degree murder, abandonment and concealment of a dead body, and fraudulent schemes in the death of Debra Lynn Childers.

Kingman man charged with killing of Debra Lynn Childers

A 35-year-old Kingman man has been arrested and charged on suspicion of killing a 64-year-old woman and concealing her body in a duffel bag for several months, the Kingman Police Department said Saturday.

Police arrested Brett Daniel Puett at around 5 p.m. Friday on felony charges of second-degree murder, abandonment and concealment of a dead body, and fraudulent schemes in the death of Debra Lynn Childers.

I hate that this happened to poor Debra, but am SO glad that the murderer admitted it instead of taking the regular deny, deny, deny route.

"Investigators later learned that Puett and Childers met each other last summer when they both lived in their vehicles and that Childers had been shot and killed at some point in November when the pair were sharing a room at a Kingman motel, police said. The department said their relationship appears to have been platonic.

Police said Puett admitted involvement in the murder, concealment of Childers' body and the bank withdrawals."

The incident began on May 12 when 64-year-old Debra Lynn Childers was reported missing to the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office by her son who lives out of state and had not heard from his mother in several months but knew that she lived in the Kingman and Golden Valley area of Arizona.

It may be a huge coincidence, but there's a Debra L Childers who had an addy in Kingman. This same person lived many places including SC, NC, WV and at one point Florida. That according to whitepages.

Sympathy to her son who had to find out his mom was murdered.
