I wish DDP would release surnames of all Does that they are struggling to identify.

I have never read anything about this doe that was dropped off of DDP's list. The new composite is terrible, no one has all their features in the middle of a very circular face with a very square jaw.

The National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs)

Also, my family has been in OH/KY/IN for more than 200 years (some longer due to being Native Americans). We are not Amish or Mennonites, we're Dunkers (German Brethren) and that information could possibly help with identification.

IIRC The two Snohomish County JD's were dropped due to heavy bacterial contamination with DNA.

The genealogical research for Sultan Basin John Doe was done by somebody else (the single genealogist from Portland), DDP was not involved in it:

“DNA-based family trees created by an Oregon genealogist suggest the Sultan Basin John Doe has deep roots in Texas and Louisiana on one side of his family. On the other side, he has genetic ties to Plain people — as in Amish and Mennonite communities — in Ohio and Indiana. And certainly he has relatives elsewhere”

Ok, it is a DNA DOE case that was stalled. I don't understand the point that you are trying to make.

The West Manchester Township Police Department has released a new reconstruction, created by Jenny Kenyon, of what West Manchester Township John Doe 2013 may have looked like.
Investigators previously thought that he was white, perhaps Hispanic, but based on his ethnicity admixture the DNA Doe Project determined that he is of 75% sub-Saharan African descent.
"This means our victim was black and may have had a Caucasian great-grandparent or great-great-grandparent in the family line," a police news release states.
DNA relationships show distant family in the North Carolina area and surrounding states, but his closest connections are in Washington County, North Carolina (specifically Roper & Plymouth) that are connected to the following surnames: Downing, Bembery, Spruill, Lee, Gaylord, Johnston, and Fields.
Other potential locations and surnames based on most recent common ancestors between his matches include:

The West Manchester Township Police Department has released a new reconstruction, created by Jenny Kenyon, of what West Manchester Township John Doe 2013 may have looked like.
Investigators previously thought that he was white, perhaps Hispanic, but based on his ethnicity admixture the DNA Doe Project determined that he is of 75% sub-Saharan African descent.
"This means our victim was black and may have had a Caucasian great-grandparent or great-great-grandparent in the family line," a police news release states.
DNA relationships show distant family in the North Carolina area and surrounding states, but his closest connections are in Washington County, North Carolina (specifically Roper & Plymouth) that are connected to the following surnames: Downing, Bembery, Spruill, Lee, Gaylord, Johnston, and Fields.

I'm not sure if this was always listed this way or if it were changed after the DDP's findings, but Apache Junction Jane Doe is listed as "Hispanic/Latino" on NamUs rather than mentioning the proposed Native American genealogy that was ruled out last year.

I have a very very far fetched theory about Jonesport John Doe, which may not work because of time differences. But I wonder if somehow, it’s possible that he was a victim of the 1999 crash of Egyptair 990 that went down near Nantucket, Massachusetts. It would be a 7 month difference rather than a two month, but I wonder if investigators could get a flight manifest of who was on the plane and compare any missing persons slightly matching the description to him.

I cannot wait for this case to be solved. I lived near where he was found and I have wondered for so long who/when/why?
I'm so grateful that Sno Co is helping to give back the names of all the IUDs. It is an important mission to them.
