Drug lord El Chapo's daughter launches new clothing line in Mexico (with clip)

    July 20, 2019

"As drug lord Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman got life in prison, his daughter launched her own clothing line using his likeness.

Alejandrina Gisselle Guzman Salazar launched "El Chapo 701," a reference to Forbes naming her father the 701st richest person in the world in 2009.

The line is being debuted at IM Intermoda, a fashion expo held in Guadalajara.

It appears at least some of the items in the clothing line are being made in a Mexican maximum security federal prison from where El Chapo escaped in 2001...."

Mexico: ‘El Chapo’ Guzman clothing line launched in Guadalajara

    Jul 20, 2019

"A clothing and accessories line launched in the name of drug kingpin Joaquin 'el Chapo' Guzman was presented in the Mexican city of Guadalajara, footage filmed on Friday shows.

The brand, which was named 'El Chapo 701' and was helmed by his daughter Alejandrina Guzman Salazar, pays tribute to the number the drug dealer reached on the richest men list by Forbes Magazine.

Sweaters, shirts, caps and other accessories such as belts were showcased.

'El Chapo 701' spokesperson Adriana Ituarte explained that an online auction would take place for special edition items from the new brand.

"There will be 700 pieces for the general audience, and piece number 701 will be made in gold and auctioned. All the earnings go toward Alejandrina's charity to help people with addictions."

Alejandrina Guzman's collection comes at a time when 'el Chapo' has regained popularity after being convicted of international distribution of heroin and cocaine as well as use of firearms and money laundering in February."

Drug Kingpin El Chapo's Daughter Launches Fashion Line Inspired By Her Father

    July 21, 2019

"Ironically, some proceeds are going toward addiction treatment.

Alejandrina Gisselle Guzmán Salazar, the daughter of Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzmán and his first wife, Maria Alejandrina Salazar Hernandez, has started her own exclusive fashion line inspired by her convicted drug kingpin father. Last Wednesday, Guzmán was sentenced to life in prison for running the bloodthirsty cartel that moved tons of drugs into the United States. He was also convicted of unlawful use of firearms, including machine guns. The exclusive “El Chapo 701” line dropped this week at the Intermoda fashion show in Guadalajara, featuring T-shirts, sweatshirts and flashy blazers, all inspired by her drug lord father. What else is there to know about her and her brand? Who is Alejandrina Gisselle Guzmán Salazar?..."

‘El Chapo’ lieutenant seeks only a decade in prison, rather than life, citing torture after capture
Jesus Raul Beltran Leon was a top man in the Sinaloa cartel and pleaded guilty to drug conspiracy. Now, he now could face a new allegation that he offered to pay to have a witness beaten.

    Jul 23, 2019

"A top lieutenant in Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman Loera’s Sinaloa cartel again is making dramatic torture allegations in a court filing that asks a judge in Chicago to give him a prison sentence of no more than 10 years — the minimum required by law — rather than the life term he faces.

But Jesus Raul Beltran Leon could also face new allegations at his Aug. 5 sentencing, including a claim he offered to pay thousands of dollars to have a witness severely beaten.

Beltran Leon pleaded guilty in April in federal court in Chicago to drug conspiracy, scuttling a trial that would have followed Guzman’s conviction earlier this year in Brooklyn....

Prosecutors say Beltran Leon once worked with Guzman’s sons Alfredo Guzman and Ivan Guzman to smuggle massive shipments of drugs into the United States. He is related to El Chapo by marriage and, authorities say, once bragged he was “one of the first people” to see Guzman after the druglord escaped a Mexican prison in 2001...."

Colorado’s Supermax prison now occupied by El Chapo is “worse than death,” ex-warden said
    Prison deemed escape-proof, gloomy

    July 27, 2019

"...Guzman has proven to be a wily prisoner. In 2001, he was smuggled out of a top-security Mexican prison in a laundry basket. In 2015, he escaped from Altiplano prison in central Mexico, where he slipped into an escape hatch beneath his shower, and rode a motorcycle through a mile-long, hand-dug tunnel to freedom.

“Clearly the federal government is very concerned about his ongoing contact with just about anyone, since they fear he will send messages related to drug smuggling. So his isolation will be extreme,” said Dr. Terry Kupers, a psychiatrist who wrote a book about the psychological impact of long-term solitary confinement at Supermax.
After a quarter century of operation, no one has ever escaped from Supermax. Prison inmates have been diagnosed with insanity while incarcerated there or already existing conditions of mental illness have worsened, according to a 2012 class-action lawsuit against the U.S. Bureau of Prisons. Prisoners have been known to interminably wail and bang on the walls of their cells, the lawsuit claims....

Supermax has an ultra-secure unit, so-called “Range 13,” a four-cell wing in the prison’s disciplinary unit, where prisoners have virtually no human contact. They are under camera surveillance 24 hours a day and get one 15-minute non-legal phone call a month. Yousef lived in Range 13 for more than seven years, the Amnesty International report said.

Former Supermax inmate Jack Powers spent nearly 10 years in the disciplinary unit. He bit off both pinky fingers, severed his earlobes and cut off a testicle and his scrotum, the class-action lawsuit claims. The lawsuit has led to reforms related to inmates’ mental health but is still pending.

It’s a “no brainer” that Guzman’s new home is one of the Range 13 cells, Hood said...."

Leader of Mexican cartel drug ring operating here gets prison

    August 14, 2019

"Jose Ruben Gil says it was his one-on-one meeting with Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman that led to one of the largest drug rings to ever operate in Western New York.

During a trial last year, Gil took the witness stand and testified that, blindfolded and surrounded by armed guards, he was taken by helicopter to an undisclosed location in Mexico and a mansion on a hill.

He also told the jury that his meeting there with Guzman and other leaders of the Sinaloa Cartel, one of the world's most powerful and violent organized crime organizations, increased the flow of cocaine coming his way.

On Wednesday, U.S. District Judge Lawrence J. Vilardo sentenced the convicted drug trafficker to 12 years in prison.

In sentencing Gil, Vilardo pointed to the drug organization he headed, one of the largest – if not the largest – to ever operate in Western New York, and its role in bringing fentanyl and heroin into the region...."

El Chapo wants his $14 billion dollar drugs fortune to be given to Mexican indigenous communities rather than the United States - as he insists the cash 'belongs to my homeland'

    5 September 2019

"Joaquín 'El Chapo' Guzmán wants his fortune distributed among the indigenous communities in Mexico

United States prosecutors estimated his fortune to be worth $14 billion and asked him to pay back $12.6 billion made through the sale of drugs in the U.S.

Shortly after El Chapo's July sentencing, Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador argued the money belonged to Mexico and not the U.S....

Meza also added at Wednesday's press conference that attorneys are working on having El Chapo returned to Mexico to serve the remainder of his sentence.

Juan Pablo Badillo Soto, who also forms a part of El Chapo's defense team, said the trial should be nullified because he was never tried in San Diego, where he was wanted by authorities, and instead faced a jury in New York, where the attorneys argue he was never wanted.

Soto added that the extradition documents clearly pointed out that 'if the accused is not made available to the authorities who claim him in the first 60 days, he will be released immediately.' ..."

Mexico's rival drug gangs battle it out over El Chapo's lucrative tunnels which helped the Sinaloa Cartel ship $12 billion worth of drugs across the border with the US

    7 September 2019

"The underground tunnels once used by El Chapo's Sinaloa Cartel to traffic $12billion of drugs across the border have become central to a new cartel war...

Despite his own fall from grace, Guzman’s tunnels continue to prosper as a profitable and viable passageway to flood the US with drugs

Criminal organizations are working both in tandem and in opposition to one another over the lucrative routes - said to cost between $1M-$2M each ..."

Any police member or govt official who genuinely attempts to investigate will be signing their death warrant (& possibly their families also). Even during the mafia wars they respected family, but re: the cartels, no one is off limits.
