Salazar, 25, disappeared from Albuquerque, New Mexico on March 26, 2004. Her fifteen-year-old cousin, Jamie Barela, went missing with her. In November 2009, Salazar's body was identified. Her skeletal remains were found at a construction site in the West Mesa area of Albuquerque in February, along with the bodies of ten other victims. The West Mesa murders remain under investigation and Barela remains listed as a missing person

APD said Tuesday it has been informed by The University of North Texas that the 11th victim's identity is Jamie Barela. Barela was reported missing on April 3, 2004, and was last seen leaving a family gathering with Evelyn Salazar.
Salazar's remains were also among those found at the West Mesa site and were identified in November.

There is so little out there to be found about these poor girls...I hate to see their threads so empty

their connection to each other might be the key to the case--not easy to take 2 at once--they must have known previously the person they went with?

I agree that it would be difficult to take two victims at once unless they knew, and perhaps, even trusted, whoever it was. And you are right, the connections between the girls are definitely the key to the case. I just wish there was more information out there to find about them and their routines, habits, etc.
