At Least 57 Killed By Explosions At 3 Hotels In Jordan

"AMMAN, Jordan -- Jordan's Deputy Prime Minister Marwan Muasher said 57 people were killed in three suicide bombings at hotels in the capital of Amman.

Police said 115 were wounded in the almost simultaneous explosions.

A U.S. counterterrorism official said no one has claimed responsibility for the attacks. Jordan's King Abdullah said the hand of justice will get to the criminals.

Officials said they believe all three blasts were carried out by suicide bombers.

One police official said, "The attacks carry the trademark of al-Qaida." However, he added that "it is not certain," and that authorities are investigating the cause of the blasts.

The official said the Jordanian-born leader of al-Qaida in Iraq, Abu Musab-al-Zarqawi, has a dislike for Jordan and has used suicide bombers.

The triple attacks sent ambulances screaming across downtown. A black cloud of smoke was seen rising from a building in Amman's commercial district after the evening explosions..."

Zarqawi is the town Abu Musab is from about 50 miles from Amman Jordon...

It was only time until they started attacking one of America's friends in the region...

If the rumors are right, he is wounded and recovering in his home town, not in Iraq...

I'm hoping that Jordan, and a few other Mideast countries capture some of the terrorists. They don't follow the Geneva Convention rules on treatment of prisoners, so if there is information to be gained from prisoners, they will obtain it. Maybe we will just ship our captured known terrorists over to them, and then there wouldn't be a problem, on our treatment of terrorists.

There is already a thread for this topic. It is titled "Several killed in hotel blast in Jordan"

PS. What is going on in France has NOTHING to do with Al-Qaeda or terrorism. It is civil unrest much like the riots that spread through LA and several other US cities following the Rodney King verdict.

The French Muslims are rioting because they want better jobs and treatment; they feel discriminated against.

It is true the French were probably too lax in letting too many immigrants in, much as we are here in the U.S., but this does not have to do with Al Queda - although some Al Queda could come in and participate in the riots I suppose, just as they came into Iraq.
