I couldn't tell from the article if the gunman died as well? He sounds like the Virginia Tech shooter.
Here's a more updated article:
An 18-year-old gunman killed eight people at a high school in southern Finland on Wednesday, then shot himself but survived, police said.
Also, from the first article:
The video, set to hard-driving music, shows a still photo of a school that appears to be Jokela High School, where the shootings occurred some 40 miles from the Finnish capital, Helsinki.
The photo then fragments to reveal a red-tinted photo of a man pointing a gun at the camera.
It is entitled “Jokela High School Massacre - 11/7/2007″ and was posted by a user called Sturmgeist89. “Sturmgeist” means storm spirit in German.
Thanks. I wonder what his punishment will be under Finnish law. Too bad he wasn't successful at killing himself.
According to Wikipedia, they're pretty lenient in Finland. Probation after 12 years for life sentences, usually. People apparently only get a real life sentence if they are committed to a mental institution.
Steadfast, you certainly have all the answers for me today! Thanks.
They've updated your first link with a lot more detail so I'll repost the link:
Just saw this on the news--What a horror--If this worthless pig survives, its a shame that Finland doesn't have the death penalty, so he can't be executed
