GUILTY FL - Amy Patterson, 40, Bokeelia, 29 July 2011

Poor Amy!! Where are her friends, family, loved ones? Why didn't someone at the school question her whereabouts more? What did he tell them? This is so bizarre! It is also very sad! LE in certain cities are certainly on the ball more than other cities. Some LE would NOT have let this go one entire month prior to doing a MUCH better job investigating her whereabouts. Where is Amy?

Amy Patterson,

I saw this sad story on NG last night. I fear it's not going to end well either. :(

My question is, where is her family? Did he tell them that she died in a car accident? If so, wouldn't they have wanted a funeral and asked questions about where she was buried or where her body was for that matter?

Why was the son in Texas is another question I have.

BBM

Does anyone know if the son is okay and where he is?

The last I heard about this case was her mother on TV speaking about her missing daughter and that she knew her daughter had been beaten up severely by this man before. The mother in law apparently did not believe her son when he said she was visiting in son in Alabama or Texas?

Such a beautiful girl and so vulnerable I think......allowing herself to be abused in the past by this creep.

All I want, whether she's alive or dead, I want my daughter," said Salehi through tears. "I want to bring her back home. She needs to be back home with her family, needs to be with us...Danny is the only one, the only one who can tell us where she is."

Salehi recalled her daughter as a tender-hearted person who was an avid reader. Patterson quoted Ralph Waldo Emerson in her senior yearbook photo shot at Grissom High in 1988, when she was then known as Amy Guenther. Her mother said Amy always went above and beyond the call of duty as a teacher.

"She felt it was a crime that a child couldn't read properly," said Salehi. "So she would offer her time to help teach any student."

Mrs. Salehi described her former son in-law as a "nightmare", and accused him of habitually abusing Amy over a two-decade period. When asked how she felt when hearing the name "Daniel Proctor", she gave this chilling response.

Missing teacher feared dead; ex-husband is suspect

Sheriff's Lt. Ryan Bell said Thursday that details from their investigation indicate 41-year-old Amy Patterson is likely dead. He declined to offer more details.

Deputies are looking for 44-year-old Daniel Ray Proctor, who was last seen at a friend's home in Alabama.

Patterson was last seen in late July, a few days before school started. When she didn't show up for work at Mariner Middle School, officials there reached out to family and friends. Deputies say Proctor told school officials Patterson had died in a car crash.

Nationwide bulletin says Huntsville native likely murdered, calls ex-husband suspect

Daniel Proctor's mother said her son showed up at her Huntsville home last Thursday in Patterson's car. Joyce Rosenbaum told WHNT News 19 that she asked her son where his ex-wife was. She said he responded that Patterson had gone to visit relatives in Texas, but Mrs. Rosenbaum did not believe her son and called authorities. Media outlets in Florida have reported that Proctor told some people his wife had been killed in a car wreck.

Daniel Proctor is 5'8, 175 pounds with brown hair and green eyes. Law enforcement said he was armed and dangerous and should not be approached. The bulletin also stated that Proctor had stolen a handgun and left a note indicating that he was likely headed back to Florida.

Landlord to Patterson and Proctor speaks out

Patterson and Proctor rented a home on Pine Island. The home is now considered a crime scene. However, after Patterson was reported missing, but before the home was declared a crime scene, investigators let the landlord into the home.

Brian Schwain, the landlord, said it appeared normal. Schwain said everything was in its place. He even said detectives told him they "found no evidence of foul play in the house." However, something changed: some type of evidence was found in the house and now it's taped off.

What evidence was found still is unclear, but authorities are certain Patterson is dead.

Proctor is the prime suspect in the disappearance of Cape Coral teacher Amy Patterson. He's being held in jail on warrants from Alabama.

Daniel Proctor was again wearing a full body suicide protection suite. He appeared via closed circuit monitor from the Lee County jail and made no bones about it he wants to be extradited back to Alabama.

So relieved that he's in custody now - I was worried that he would try to commit suicide after stealing his friend's car and fleeing. I hope he will do the right thing and tell the truth, so her family can have the answers they deserve.

Amy's family deserve to know the truth and if she is deceased they deserve to bury her.

I can't help but "hope" maybe he has her hidden somewhere but that's not likely.

Patterson's mother Ladonna Salehi spoke with WHNT News 19 over the phone Monday, revealing new details about the search for Amy and her troubled relationship with Daniel Proctor. Salehi said Florida detectives recently took DNA samples from her in hopes that it will help in the search for her daughter. Salehi also said detectives informed her that Proctor was on suicide watch and had been uncooperative, refusing to answer any questions regarding the whereabouts of his ex-wife. He was being held at the Lee County, Florida jail most recently, but authorities declined to say when he would be extradited back to Alabama. Proctor is accused of stealing a car and a handgun in Madison County just days before he was captured in Florida by U.S. Marshals. He waived his right to an extradition hearing last week, a move that legal analysts call strategic.

Amy Patterson's mother reveals new details

Its been just more than two months since Amy Patterson was reported missing.

[snip]

She believes part of the puzzle is right inside their Pine Island home.. she says she found spent shell casings under the couple's bed and a yellow rain slicker stained with blood.

She says she talked to deputies who told her there was no evidence a crime happened there.

[snip]

Salehi says investigators also pin-pointed the time when the suspected homicide happened... saying it was between July 22nd and 23rd.. a month before she was reported missing.

My immediate thought is how sad, that Amy was so isolated from friends and family who cared for her. So often the case when one allows themselves to be a victim,/victimized in the past, they pull away from family and people who truly have their best interest at heart.
I see that the last time I posted on this case, back in Sept. I pretty much had the same thoughts as now.

Only now we know that she very possibly had been dead, long before anyone evern wondered :(

This guy, knew apparently, he had time to his advantage.........having successfully more then likely, pulled her away from all who loved her.

Amy was so beautiful....How tragic she is gone.
