WTF? They sure do not give you much to go on here - no details of the location, condition of the bodies, ETD, etc. Was this from a mass grave or what?

    Hi
I think I remember reading about this a long time ago. They are I think thought to be Haitian immigrants whose boat capsized off of Florida.I think I remember seeing this on the Florida vital statistics.I do not know much more about this.

This case sounds so mysterious because of the lack of details

Interesting, but I wonder why they give COD as "not stated".

Ohhhh, weird. I was looking for articles online but could find none. I guess if the bodies washed up on shore it might explain why the UIDs weren't wearing much clothing? How terribly sad.

Is there anyone who can give me info about 11 unidentified bodies (3 female 8 male) that were found in 1982 in Boca Raton? They were all african american and under 25, I think. They are the new hot cases on the Doe Network, but not much info is listed.

That seems to be what happened, as stated in the original link. The confusion over the incident probably results from cross-jurisdictions between three agencies: USCG, local LE and Immigration. COD appears to have been accidental drowning at sea and this should have been a USCG exclusive following ME's report. However the fact that other agencies appear to still be displaying some intesrest or the fact that the case is still open, could mean that criminal activity (such as piracy) is being considered.

Unless someone in Haiti still remembers who all were aboard the Esperancia this is going to be difficult to solve, I think. Missing persons from 1982 just might not be the greatest concern right now.

    The links have changed:
