The dead man was pulled from the water after 5 a.m. Saturday.
A fisherman on Anglins Pier, off Commercial Boulevard, called 911 when he spotted the body.
Waves carried the body close to the shore where deputies were able to pull it out of the water.
The dead man was thought to be in his 40s and was fully clothed, detectives said. His body was taken to the Broward County Medical Examiners Office for an autopsy.
