The sheriff's office is now urging anyone with information to call 911, and NOT call the desk phones, non-emergency phone lines, or leave tips via email or social media. They say the quickest way for information to get to the search teams in the field is by calling 911 and letting the operator know you have information regarding the missing person Carol McHugh from Citrus County.

In a video released on the CCSO Facebook page Monday afternoon, the sheriff's office showed the rough terrain and dense brush crews are dealing with as they search for McHugh.

CCSO says their teams have gone door-to-door and conducted grid searches of large wooded areas, such as Flying Eagle Preserve, Tsala Apopka Lake, and Fort Cooper State Park. Teams have also re-checked several areas where McHugh is known to frequent.

Mrs. McHugh was a wonderful woman everyone loved it has been said of this nurse . And I believe it 100 % . Her life spent serving others should have meant someone would take the initiative to put at least those hookneye latches at the top ( and sometimes the bottom too ) of the doors and have someone with her at all times . Many families do not understand that there is the danger of anyone doing anything to someone who has alzheimers or dementia and that the disease can change them at any time without notice and one day they never come home . <modsnip> Mrs . Mchugh lived in an area known for lakes , gators and general Fl. more rural type area . Say a prayer somehow she is alive after this many days . She was missing one week from this last Thurs . May God reveal where she is and if anyone was involved may they accidentally prove it . <modsnip>

"One year after Carol McHugh of Seven Lakes went missing, there has been no progress finding her.

Despite a search involving Citrus County Sheriff’s deputies and volunteers, investigators are no closer today in learning what happened to the then 72- year-old former hospital administrator than they were a year ago."

Fate of missing Seven Lakes woman still unknown one year later
