Elderly Jamaican woman missing after arriving at Florida airport
A search is underway for a 70-year-old Jamaican woman who went missing after she landed at the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport in Florida, United States on Monday.

According to reports from the Broward Sheriff’s Office (BSO) Missing Persons Unit, Caroline Woolery-Walters was last seen near 300 Terminal Drive at Fort Lauderdale around 6:00 p.m.

Woolery-Walters was traveling from Jamaica to visit relatives in Philadelphia.

It is said that she was last seen wearing a yellow head wrap, yellow shirt, and blue jeans.

Anyone with information regarding Woolery-Walters’ whereabouts is urged to contact BSO Detective Leonard Charla at 954-321-4274, or BSO’s non-emergency number, 954-764-HELP (4357).
*She’s been missing for several days. I’m worried about Ms. Caroline.

I fear that she ended up with a bad person who drove her to that location. Anyone familiar with US Customs at the FLL airport? Flying in from Jamaica would she have had to go to a different place before heading to her gate for the next flight? Maybe someone said they would help her, maybe even someone she met on the flight?

It's only a short drive to the 1500 block of SW 4th, compared to an almost 2 hour walk. It doesn't say, but I wonder if she was robbed?

thats a decently nice neighborhood.. as uber driver, use to drop a lot of tourists/visitors from airport to the days inn near that spot. the neighborhood directly north of that days inn are not nice at all... very run down and crime ridden...

and broward blvd (the main street before the river destination) is filled with criminals/rapists/bad people walking around day or night but mostly east of the police station especially around the bus terminal and downtown areas. theres even a little strip of homeless people (like a mini skid row) living across the street from the mcdonalds on east broward blvd. but this is 20 minutes walking east from the days inn.

Two questions/observations:

1. What are the currents like in that area? Just because she was found in that particular area doesn't mean she fell in or was left right there.

2. There are a number of direct flights from Jamaica to Philadelphia. Was FLL really just a transfer?
