FL - Chrissy Hughes, Linda Wood & Sebastian Meachum, 9, slain, Malabar, 11 June 2017

I wonder why it says not to approach them.

I wonder why it says not to approach them.

I don't get that either. They appear to have been the property owners. It seems sadly more likely that the local sheriff's office is correct as quoted in this article:

"But officials say it’s possible the family might not be missing.

“It’s certainly a possibility that they could be inside the home and there could be more victims inside since the fire department hasn’t searched that far into the house,” Goodyear said.

Sebastian Meachum, 9, is believed to be in the company of Tony Hughes, 39, and Chrissy Hughes, 39. If you see them call 911. (FDLE)

The Florida Missing Child Alert was established in 2003 to provide law enforcement with a tool to quickly disseminate information when a child is missing and believed to be in life-threatening danger, but there is no indication that the child has been abducted.

My guess is LE believes there is something "off" about the fire.

I'd like to think perhaps they've gone camping or something due to the beginning of summer break, and don't even know they're missing.

I wonder if the victim found in the burned house was a parent of the boy.

Abandoned boat found in ocean from Malabar, officials said

An unoccupied 18-foot boat found going around in circles 7 miles off the coast Sunday was from Malabar in southern Brevard County, a U.S. Coast Guard spokesman said Monday.Authorities haven't yet said if it could be connected to the search for a 9-year-old Malabar boy who is missing following a fatal house fire Sunday morning.
The Brevard County Sheriff's Office is to give an update on its investigation later Monday.

Sorry, title should say MalabaR.

More (awful) info: http://www.wftv.com/news/local/miss...e-person-died-in-malabar-house-fire/532273892

"The FDLE says Tony and Chrissy Hughes may be traveling by boat.

The couple's boat is described as an 18-foot 2012 Nautic Global Group model with tag number 3066PJ.

Law enforcement officials advise anyone seeing the Hugheses to not approach them and call police."

Actually now they're saying it's a Grady White, basically unsinkable boat, found circling in the ocean 7 m out. Challenging to go out that inlet (Sebastian Inlet) unless you've got experience. We live a block (over a mile) north of this house. Monday AM and fire, police and CSI are all there, road closed at intersection. Wish there was some way to get more news.

Awful, awful news:

"During a recovery search of the home, fire crews discovered the remains of an adult female and a child within the home.

Officials said a preliminary examination of the female victim revealed trauma that indicates the female was killed prior to the start of the fire.

According to witness statements, there have been some recent domestic issues between Tony and Chrissy Hughes."

The child's remains found in the house is female. Little boy still missing.

Per your article-
The Brevard County Sheriff's Office is continuing the death investigation into a fire that occurred Sunday at a Malabar residence.

I haven't seen any article that indicates the sex of the child found in the home. From the article I linked to: "During a recovery search of the home, fire crews discovered the remains of an adult female and a child within the home."

Maybe I'm reading the article wrong. It said female, child remains found. Instead of adult female and child remains found. I assumed the child was the out of state relative. It's the bold highlights in the article that threw me off.

"Officials believe the home was occupied by Tony and Chrissy Hughes, Chrissy's 9-year-old son, Sebastian Meachum, and an out-of-state relative. "

I wonder who that out of state relative is. Has anyone found out?

This sounds scary I hope the little boy is found alive.

the link was updated stating the boy is deceased in the burned home. and that the boat found circling had blood evidence. did he have a firearm? I am thinking murder/suicide off the side of the boat :(
