Correction (?). I guess @Niner 's post was made on Wednesday, July 17th, as the poster typed in italics at the top of the post? Perhaps the hearing was yesterday (Thursday) July 18 at 1 pm, as written in the second line?
Still can't find any info on it.
UPDATE: Oh, good gravy, that says "2014" in the second line. Forget it. Not current.
UPDATE 2: Now I'm looking at the last line in green and I see that there was something on July 17 at 1 pm. Maybe the question is relevant.

On 5th Anniversary of Law Professor’s Murder, Parents Recall Dan Markel as 'A Light in the World’
“The Markels used to travel to Tallahassee to visit Dan and the boys at home — to visit their preschool, to attend music programs, and to play in the park together,” says Snyder. “Now, as they prepare to return to Tallahassee for the trial of some of Dan’s alleged killers, they will be forced to re-live the nightmare of Dan’s murder all over again.”

“They are counting down the days until justice is done,” says Snyder’s statement. “More than anything, the Markels want to reunite with their beloved grandsons — Dan’s young boys — whom they have not been allowed to see in more than three years.”

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — Justice for Dan Markel.

Friday marks five years since the father and Florida State University professor was killed. He was shot outside of his home on July 18, 2014, but did not die until the next morning.

As friends and family of Markel hope for justice on his behalf, one close friend started a Facebook page to make sure he's not forgotten.
    [...]
Jason Solomon started a Facebook page to make sure Dan is not forgotten. It's a way for his friends across the country to know they're not alone and they have a support system.

More than 2,000 people are part of the Justice for Dan Facebook page where they talk openly about their friend and hopes of finding closure on his murder.

Thank you for reintroducing the Justice for Dan FB page. I had forgotten it existed. Most everything I feel and everything I don't know (and do know) is encapsulated in the FB page.

Do you all think that this is a request from KM and SG to see each other/communicate in person before trial?

Jason Solomon, curator of the Justice for Dan FB page mentioned above, has written a really powerful article on medium.com, check it out here. He also organizes the Justice for Dan Twitter feed, which is here.

Jason is doing great work to keep this case in the public eye and to keep the heat on Donna and Charlie for their culpability. There's no lawyerly equivocation here: he calls out Donna and Charlie as the masterminds of the murder, and predicts their eventual arrest. (I'm more skeptical about the latter; not because I disagree about their involvement, but because I am more skeptical about whether the process will work.) For what it's worth, Jason thinks Wendi had no knowledge of the plot, and is adamant in his (limited) defense of her.

As someone who is very interested in seeing justice done, I truly appreciate Jason's courageous efforts to keep the flame alive. I encourage others who share this view to lend him their support.

Thanks for the article. It's impossible to know (at least at this point) what knowledge Wendi had prior to the murder, but it must be just as clear to her as it is to everyone else that her family had a role in Dan's death.

Wouldn't a normal person be aghast about this and do everything in her power to help put those responsible behind bars? Instead, she seems to be sitting back and enjoying the "fruit" of this situation - being able to be near her family and raise her boys in Miami.

Forgive me, but anyone who has read most of the facts (as we know them) and concludes that WA was not aware
or was not involved will not gain my support.

I think this is all on Charlie. Sure his mother knows now that is the case but it was her anger toward Dan that instigated this, IMO, could be wrong. Her daughter listened to Mommy instead of being a loyal wife to her husband and children's father. To me it's all so stupid. I wonder what the older son has to say about this.

You mean after the killing. To me, she was saying "wow someone did this for me after all my complaining. I didn't think it would amount to this, shocking, I didn't mean to have him killed!" That's my take on reading her police interview.

No, I was replying to FreddyG's response re Jason Solomon, who has kept Dan's case updated and kept it in the spotlight over all these years. That I can appreciate and respect but I won't support his current conclusion that WA wasn't involved. She knew.

After it happened she said she was scared for her and her children and I think she said she was going into hiding? I'm thinking initially she didn't think it was CA that did this.

Fair enough, her involvement is to me the only really open factual question in the case, and one on which I think reasonable minds may differ. Here's Jason's take.

I'm not convinced by his argument. For one thing, a lot of it consists of conjectures about how one would logically behave under certain circumstances. I've seen enough variant human behavior by both guilty and innocent people to buy such claims. People are different, and behave differently, often in ways that seem irrational to us, under all kinds of different conditions.

That said, I know that Jason knew Dan well and I think he also knew Wendi or at least had met her a number of times. This could cut either way. It could give Jason unique insight into Wendi; it could also mean that he feels loyalty to her and is blinded to the possibility of her involvement.

For me, the first proposition is that I simply don't know what happened, both in the trivial sense that I actually don't have the information about what took place, and in the more complicated sense that what evidence I've seen in following this case closely for years does not seem conclusive to me on her involvement one way or another. (MHO of course--many have seen the evidence I have and do feel confident concluding one way or another.)

So I think of the issue in terms of probabilities: I'd go about 75% Wendi did not know anything beforehand and was totally legitimately shocked; 20% she had some foreknowledge (ranging from actual notice to willful blindness); and 5% she was actively involved in planning.

Again, all JMHO, and in the presence of uncertainty I try to keep in mind all the biases and mental frailties we all share that cloud our judgment despite our best intentions. The above is also purely about WA before the murder; I think a lot of her behavior afterward is pretty terrible and dishonest but that is a different issue and not related to her legal culpability.

Thank you @FreddyG for your well reasoned and non emotional reply.

I, on the other hand, am emotional about this case and have been since the beginning. But I can't say I'm totally unreasonable.

There are too many instances in this murder that screams her involvement.
Reading excerpts from her book indicated to me, albeit the name changes, that she despised him. It was always a struggle for power and he had more than she did in Tallahassee and probably would have had in the long range plan of ambitions and familial contacts. Some of her anger I can understand.

I could list all the reasons but I'd rather not link them. Too difficult and I'll leave that to the prosecutors.

She has achieved what she always wanted. Home in South Fl, working for a well known immigration judge, single, near her own family, complete control over how the boys are raised...ridding them of everything that was DM's (the names, his parents), and no worries about him remarrying a woman who was probably better suited for him. No worries about shared custody, the possibility that the boys would have a 2nd mother they might come to adore, no long summer trips for the boys to Canada or anywhere else for that matter. Death for DM was the only way out IMO.

WA is smarter than her mother and certainly smarter than CA. Imagine achieving all the above and not having to answer for it. Better it be bro and Mom who pay the Piper.

    All just my opinion.
