I totally understand what you're saying, but I think the error happened from an assumption that someone speaking Spanish is likely Hispanic.

I have no horse in this - I want accurate descriptions too. But I can see how this particular error happened.

I can see it too but that is where LE can really help a case by being careful in what is being said. Errors can cost big, I know because I work in a medical device company and have a lot of processes to avoid errors. I think it would benefit to learn from this error and avoid assumptions that can create delays in apprehending a suspect :)

"Mr. Stanga, in the bright light of day, attacked a child at a bus stop along a busy road with a knife and attempted to pull her into his car,” prosecutor Erin Ambrose said during the hearing, according to The Pensacola News Journal. “He's obviously a threat to this community.”

Ambrose also noted that Stanga was convicted in 2007 of child neglect, involving sexual allegations, although she did not provide any specific details about that case. In Miami, it is really not that big of a deal. Almost everyone speaks Spanish, and are all different shades. It would just alert police that this person is bilingual, or possibly only speaks Spanish.

The witness was 11. I wish we could cut some slack on this error.

Smart, heroic girl. Unfortunately FL is full of perverts if she was older I'd recommend CC for her.

Many years ago I witnessed an attempted abduction of a young girl it was at a light so by the time the light turned green, abductor in front of me moved after I leaned on the horn. I could only hope the kid made it home safely.

Another extremely good reason to get outta here...

If he is, a cement block and the Gulf is the best solution for him.
