Ok so I did some digging and found the cases of two females who both vanished from St Augustine in 1993 and 1995. They were both the victims of serial killer, William Darrell Lindsey, he mainly killed women who were involved with drugs and prostitution, and due to that, it seems unlikely that he had anything to do with Martha’s possible abduction. I’m just shocked that I didn’t know about this when doing so much extensive research on Lambert. He does seem like a possible person of interest to be looked at though.

NOTE: He also killed in North Carolina and he killed from 1983 to 1996, Martha went missing right in that time line. He was also a native to St. Augustine so he would’ve know the area pretty well. I’d say that if he took Martha, it was for an opportunity

    My list of possible suspects:

    -Donald Leroy Evans

    -Ronad Stewart

    -William Darrell Lindsey

    -Delbert Mosher

    -Victor Wonyetye

    -Willis Rambo and his brother

NOTE: 3 of these suspects are considered in the 1984 disappearance of Marjorie Luna, they have the same MO which was young girls around Marjorie’s age. Then there is William Lindsey, he killed several females in St. Augustine and that’s where Martha went missing from. Ronald Stewart and Donald Evans are derail killers who killed in FL as well and they killed around the time Martha vanished. Out of all these possibilities, I consider Lindsey the most.

Can someone check to see if Martha is still listed as a missing person on the Florida Department of Law Enforcement website? For some reason the website isn’t working for me

I kind of wonder if she didn't run away because her home life wasn't too good.

Well I think that after all my research, I may have come up with a reasonable timeline for the day that Martha disappeared:

NOTE #1: the following is based off of details that have been shared about Martha’s case and it has not been confirmed that this is a TRUE set of events in Lambert’s case, I will try my best to include all sources pertaining to the information.

NOTE #2: The times are also based on speculation and on the times that have been given during the course of the decades long investigation into Martha’s disappearance. I got the time of Martha’s school dismissal from this site which displays the history of Martha’s school, Ketterlinus Junior High School, which is now named Ketterlinus Elementary School. The time 7:30 pm came from the St. John’s County Missing Persons section. This is the time that Martha was last seen by a friend as she left that house.

5:30 pm: Martha’s classes at the Ketterlinus Junior High School conclude and Martha goes to a friends house afterwards

7:30 pm: Martha leaves her friends home to go and walk to her own trailer home

7:35 - 8:00 pm: Martha and her mother go to a neighbors residence to attend a social gathering that’s been mentioned in several articles

8:15 pm - 8:30 pm: Martha tells her mother that she is leaving the gathering and would be back soon as in 5 minutes. She leaves the gathering but never returns

8:35 pm to 8:45: Martha goes to her own home and finds her father cooking dinner and David home. She has a small dinner with David and then proceeds to leave again. It’s been stated that Martha told him he was going somewhere and when he asked where she said it was none of his business and she left. The fact that she refused to divulge where she was going could mean she planned to go to a friend or acquaintances residence or that she simply didn’t want to tell him that she was going to their mother for whatever reason.

It’s possible that I between these times, Martha left her home and was on her way to a friends home or the gathering and that something happened to her in between these times and the distance of the houses.

8:50 pm to 9:00 pm: Margaret notices that approximately 20 to 30 minutes have passed and that Martha has not yet returned as she said she would. Margaret goes out to look for her and doesn’t see her anywhere so she goes up to the Lambert trailer to see if she went home and finds David in laughter coming out the door. She soon realizes that Martha is no where that she would know of.

I would like to assume that after Margaret found that Martha was no where, her and the family as well as neighbors started to search for her. They look around and in areas nearby but likely and obviously do not find a single trace of Martha. Her family alerts authorities after they found nothing.

    3:00 am on November 28th 1985:
Officers from the St. John’s County Sheriffs Office arrive at the Lambert trailer to take the family’s missing persons report for her.

    Details of Disappearance
Martha's was last seen in St. Augustine, Florida on November 27, 1985. She lived on Kerri Lynn Road off Holmes Boulevard. She has never been seen again.

Her family life was troubled. Neighbors said Martha was a friendly girl but that she was often dirty, her father was an alcoholic and there was a lot of loud fighting at their home. The Lambert children had been in foster care before due to child abuse, and her brothers had previously run away.

Her case was initially investigated as that of a runaway, but police eventually concluded she had not left voluntarily. Extensive searches of the area turned up no sign of her or her remains.

Although Martha's mother, Margaret (who now goes by her later married name, Pichon) believed she had been abducted from outside her home, authorities long suspected her older brother, David Allen Lambert, knew more about his sister's disappearance than he had disclosed. He was fourteen years old in 1985. A photograph of him as an adult is posted with this case summary.

David gave conflicting accounts as to what happened when he last saw Martha. Once he claimed she left home after dinner and refused to say where she was going, and that he saw her walking down the street towards Lil' Champ on State Road 207. Another time he said he saw her get into a black vehicle. Margaret noted that while she was looking for her daughter that night, she saw David laughing for no apparent reason.

In September 2009, David confessed in detail to having caused his sister's death. He stated it happened while they were playing on the grounds of the abandoned Florida Memorial College on King Street and Holmes Boulevard, near their home. They got into a disagreement over money and the argument turned physical. Martha slapped David and in response he pushed her. She fell back and hit her head on a piece of steel, which killed her. David stated he panicked afterwards and buried his sister's body in a shallow grave on the grounds of the college.

Investigators made considerable efforts to find Martha's body on the land where Florida Memorial College once was, but couldn't locate any remains. They don't expect to recover Martha's body, as Florida Memorial College has been razed and the area completely rebuilt.

David's statements were not made public until December 2009. Police believed his story, but no charges were filed against him, because he was a minor at the time of the incident and the statute of limitations for manslaughter has expired.

His 2009 confession wasn't the first time David had confessed to causing Martha's death. When he was arrested in 2000 for passing a bad check, he told police he was responsible for Martha's death and had buried her at a coquina mine on Holmes Boulevard. He wasn't charged at that time because investigators couldn't find Martha's body or any other evidence to support his statement.

After David's confession was publicized, his mother told the media she didn't believe it. She stated David often makes up stories to get attention and she thinks others were responsible for Martha's disappearance.

Shortly after Margaret voiced her opinion to the press, David retracted his previous statements. In media interviews he stated the police wanted to close Martha's case and he only told them what he wanted to hear. He said he is "mentally incompetent," has long-standing emotional problems, and has no idea what happened to Martha.

Investigators still believe David was telling the truth about his sister's death, however; they stated he became very emotional during his statement and appeared overwhelmed with grief. Cadaver dogs taken to the site where David said his sister was buried also showed a "change in behavior," although an excavation of the area turned up nothing of interest.

Martha is described as a trusting and happy person who wanted to be liked, but she had few friends at the time of her disappearance. She was a seventh-grade student at Ketterlinus Junior High School in St. Augustine, Florida in 1985. Her mother stated she wouldn't have run away, in spite of the problems at home, and that she knew not to get in anyone's car, even a friend's, without permission.

Foul play is suspected in her case due to the circumstances involved. It remains classified as a non-family abduction or runaway with most agencies.
