TITUSVILLE, Fla. -- There's hope that two new clues will help solve a mystery surrounding a woman found dead in a canal. A passerby saw the woman's body Sunday along State Road 50 near I-95 in Titusville.

The woman was wearing a necklace and a top. Brevard County investigators hope someone will recognize the items so they can identify her.

A driver actually spotted her body in the canal from the road.

"People who saw the body were in a Winnebago, they were pretty high up, and looked over and said, 'That looks like a body,' and called 911," explained Detective Gary Harrell, Brevard County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies said she was a white female in her late teens to early 30s.Investigators were waiting on autopsy results to determine how she died. They believe her body had been in the canal for several days.

TITUSVILLE, Fla. -- A man was arrested for dumping a woman's body alongside a highway in Titusville and his alibi is unusual.

Authorities charged 35-year-old Kevin Dial with tampering with evidence and improper disposal of a body after the body of 19-year-old Mary Beth Trowbridge was discovered in a ditch last weekend.

Dial told detectives she died while they were having sex and he and another man dumped her body in the ditch.

Investigators were still waiting for test results to determine her cause of death

Geez, someone else trying to use the excuse of "sex gone wrong". If it did happen that way it still doesn't answer the question of why he didn't call 911. Let's see...because he had been in trouble before or because they were using illegal drugs and he didn't want to go to jail.
