FL FL - Miami-Dade Co., WhtFem 791UFFL, 18-25, exhaust burns on calves, Sept'79

the biggest downside I see to a match with Rebecca Dunn is that she supposedly had a large bump on the bridge of her nose which is not noted with the UID. not sure if that was a permanent bump or a temporary bump but it was certainly not present on the UID as they noted she had facial acne so they checked out her face for any unusual features.

I was a little dismayed initially that Sandra Boyd (ME for Miami) didn't follow up with me regarding this submission while I was literally talking to her about another case. However due to the fact that they (Sandra and company in Miami) enthusiastically replied to another submission I can only assume that if Rebecca was close she would have replied...it's not like I was a stranger to her at that point.

Doenet lists these women missing from Ohio who might roughly fit age and timeframe.

Yvonne Reglar, 1977, 5'10" http://www.doenetwork.org/cases/2475dfoh.html

Lori Jean Lloyd, 1976, was only 5'3" but she was also only 14, so could have grown another inch or two: http://www.doenetwork.org/cases/2116dfoh.html

Sharon Pretorius, 1973, 5'7" and 135 lbs, 13 when she went missing. http://www.doenetwork.org/cases/2116dfoh.html

Dorothy Madden, about 5'6" and 125-135lbs. She'd be slightly older than the age range, 25 in 1975 which would make her almost 30 in 1979. http://www.doenetwork.org/cases/1974dfoh.html She ran away from or might have been murdered by a violent husband.

The only "Tina" (including nickname Tina) I can find who was missing from anywhere before 1977 is Kristina Perkins, who disappeared from Arizona in 1975: https://www.findthemissing.org/en/cases/9037/54/ She would be at the upper end of the age range, she has brown eyes not gray-green, and the circumstances don't indicate she might have left for Ohio. If they're right about the name and dates, I think it's someone who was never reported missing, or at least never made it into the national databases. (I checked doenet, charley, and Namus.)

This may be a case where no missing person report was filed for this young woman, or it was lost or destroyed over the years.

I was thinking I had seen something either on here or Doe Network about a missing girl with motorcycle burn scars but I did a search on Doe Network for that and can't find anyone but this UID. I feel positive there was someone though.

You know, I remember that too? And I can't for the life of me find it.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who previously saw that, carbuff. Maybe whoever the person was has been found since then and taken off the website.

Maybe I missed something, but why do they believe she's from Ohio???

Authorities need help IDing woman found dead 35 years ago 5:35 p.m. EDT July 16, 2014 -
According to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, a new lead has come in, and it is believed her name was Tina and her nickname was Sheeba and that she ran away from Ohio in the 1970s.

She had strawberry blond hair and hazel eyes as well as noticeable facial acne. She also had burns on the inside of each calf, indicating she had possibly been riding a motorcycle.

Shouldn't be too hard to find. I would do a search on WS in the "missing" section for burns/scar. Should also be able to find it via google advanced on Doe net

I see that the UID lady has no DNA available, but there are fingerprints, and dental information is charted. I am wondering if the skull was held for a period of time and then the charting was done as there are a few "post mortem loss" teeth entries. Although the post mortem interval is not stated, the face was recognizable at time of body discovery, which makes me think that teeth would not fall into the category of post mortem loss that quickly, but I really have no idea (?)

That's what we're saying. We searched there and on the missing person sites and did not turn up the person we thought we remembered seeing in the past.

I went through Charley and looked at every woman I could find who went missing in that time frame who had a connection to motorcycles. I found four possibles, attached. I haven't checked for DNA status, etc. yet.

Cheryl Iacovone http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/i/iacovone_cheryl.html

Blonde hair, green eyes, height and weight in range, missing from PA in 1977, has ties to motorcycle gangs. Pretty good resemblance but hard to tell for sure because of the angle. I think the nose might be way off.

Rosemary Buck http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/b/buck_rosemary.html

She left on a motorcycle in 1973 and would have been 26 when the UID died, a year older than 18-25. She's a bit small at 5'2" and her eyes are listed as hazel, not green (I'd call that close enough) but good resemblance and she had relatives in Florida though they don't seem to have heard from her.

Phyllis Berry http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/b/berry_phyllis.html

Left on a motorcycle in 1975. Brown hair vs. blonde, though it's quite light, but otherwise in range on everything and not a bad resemblance.

Megan Emerick http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/e/emerick_megan.html

Missing in 1973, fits the parameters, except brown hair vs. blonde, and the circumstances indicate she was the victim of a serial killer when she went missing. Known to be fond of motorcycles. Reasonable resemblance.

Does anyone think she could be Myrisha Campbell? She vanished in Texas in 1958, and hasn't been seen since.
Or Diane Moon, who disappeared in North Carolina in 1962? She has similar hair to the dead girl.
Oddly enough, both girls vanished with their brothers. I hope this helps.

The burns could easily have come after the UID was missing but before death. I would not bank on finding a match where the MP already had burns on her legs.

I came across Phyllis Berry's Charley listing today and remembered this case and the motorcycle burns. Carbuff beat me to suggesting her, though.

She was last seen riding off on the back of a motorcycle. That is what brought this Doe to mind. Her ht/wt/etc essentially mesh, but I don't know if it could be her or not (due to distance in time/miles).

But her profile made me realize that reconstructions and age progressions can't always be spot-on. The two actual photos of her at Charley don't really look like a good match of one another, yet they are photos (not artist's conceptions) of the same person. Since I know that, I can kind of "see" that they're the same person.
If I'd been asked whether they were the same off hand, I don't know if I could agree to that.
