A rampage shooting at a Miami nightclub Sunday at 1am, has left 15 people wounded, including an 11 year old child.

'A shooting sent terrified patrons scrambling from a Miami nightclub early Sunday and left 15 people wounded, including an 11-year-old-child. One person is reported to be in critical condition and five girls between 11 and 17 are amongst the victims - none of whom are over age 25.'

'When Miami police and rescue crews arrived at a club called The Spot around 1 a.m., they said they found chaos among the large throng of adults and teenagers gathered there. Rescuers found wounded people inside and outside the club, some too hurt to flee, Miami Fire Rescue Capt. Ignatius Carroll said'

'A hundred' rounds are reported to have been fired, by different guns. Investigators want to know why so many very young people were there in the early hours of the morning. No arrests reported yet.

Wow! So many questions! This is so scary in and of itself, but I find myself even more scared for the possibilities of why such a large number of young girls (and boys?) were at a club so early in the morning. :/

I saw this yesterday, but still haven't seen any explanation for all of the children there. Crazy.

Has anyone done any research to find out whether minors are allowed in nightclubs in Florida (and Miami in particular)?

'It's not clear whether the nightclub catered to teenagers. No public safety officials have explained why so many youths 16 and younger were inside a nightclub after the midnight Miami-Dade County curfew.
Authorities said the shooting happened about 1 a.m. at The Spot nightclub at NW 64th Street and Seventh Avenue.'

We know nothing, basically? I'd be concerned by this, if I lived in Miami. An 11-year-old, in a nightclub at 1am?

per this article (probably updated since you posted):

The club had recently begun to allow teen parties on the weekends

I was thinking some family rented it our for a party.

Not that I think it's appropriate, but it's better than I had feared, my biggest worry was that there was human trafficking going on.

MIAMI--The manager of a Miami business where 15 people were shot early Sunday morning has been arrested, reports CBS Miami.

Police say 31-year-old manager Tiffany Johnson was arrested Tuesday because The Spot is licensed to operate as a restaurant, but was allegedly functioning as a nightclub...

"The big question everyone had is, 'Is this a club or is this a restaurant?'" said City of Miami Police Officer Frederica Burden. "And the outcome was it is licensed for a restaurant which is to serve meals, alcohol, being wine and beer, with the meal."

However, agents with the Division of Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco found hard liquor behind the bar, CBS Miami reports.

On the wall inside the venue, officers found advertisements saying it also functioned as a club.

Miami police said a 17-year-old was arrested and charged for his role in a mass shooting at a business called The Spot.

Fifteen people, between the ages of 11 and 25, were shot September 28, police said.

“He took out a gun and shot that juvenile who’s in critical condition at Jackson Memorial Hospital, and then he also shot at the crowd as he ran away, hitting another 14 people,” said Miami Police Chief Manuel Orosa.

Police believe 17-year-old Will Campbell was the main gunman at the restaurant, but other accomplices are still being sought after.

Before William Devon Campbell opened fire in a crowded teen nightclub two weeks ago, Miami police say his friend Jamiroquai Young pointed out the rival he wanted dead.

On Tuesday morning, Miami police pulled Young out of Norland Senior High School, took him into custody and charged him with first-degree attempted murder and 14 counts of being an accessory after the fact.

Young, 16, was the second teenager arrested in two days in connection with the Sept. 28 shooting spree that outraged locals and stunned police, not only because of the sheer number of victims, but because of their ages.

Seventeen-year-old Will Campbell and 16-year-old Jamiroquai Young were arrested for the shooting at The Spot nightclub in Miami in September. The shootings, according to Miami Police, stemmed from a fight at Norland Senior High School.

Police believed Campbell was the triggerman in the mass shooting at The Spot. Campbell was charged with attempted first-degree murder and 14 counts of aggravated battery with a firearm. Newly-released video takes you inside the interrogation of a teen accused of shooting 15 people at a Miami nightclub...

“I don’t know Choch like that for him to be pointing out someone to shoot,” Campbell told investigators. When Campbell asked sarcastically if he looked like a hitman, detectives replied, “Yes, because everyone pointed you out as the shooter!”

In the interrogation room footage, Campbell's mother sat with him before the detective walked in, saying tearfully to her son, "Hopefully they have cameras in this club and everything and they can see what's going on because this doesn't make sense to me. You are my only child, I cannot lose you to these streets, as hard as I try. Will, you just don't understand how hard it is."

But when Detective Eldys Diaz entered the room, the mother's fears were realized. Diaz laid out still photos for Campbell to see, and asked him about what happened at the club. Multiple witnesses had already identified Campbell as the shooter, but Diaz wanted to see what Campbell had to say.
