Soulmagent--I have to ask, did the detective happen to tell you how long they keep children's photos in the database? Our kids' pornographic photos have been floating around cyberspace for 12 years now and they've never been able to pin them down. They've never shown up in a bust. We KNOW they were taken. It was part of the investigation. We were asked, by the FBI, to provide formal and candid photos of each child. I've waited for a call every day since. That's 12 years. One of the survivors, my son who is 20, recently asked me if they'll ever find the photos taken of him. It just breaks my heart.
No Missizzy ,They did not tell me how long they kept those in NCMEC ,I thought forever though.
It helps them identify new victims in child *advertiser censored* and my understanding was all pictures like this get compared.
When you say pin them down you mean stop them form circulating ? or pinpoint the orginal orgin? Are you sure they are in cyber space?
If LE hasnt tracked them down maybe your children abuser did not distribute the photo's they had taken.
If the LE personal have seen the images on the web or anywhere ,they are known images of safe victims. Unknown victims are children yet to be recoved and whos identies remain unknown.
I feel for you children having that inability to walk from the past because any moment a photo could surface and jerk them back. It breaks my heart so many children have this burden.
Here is the news report of the case with the zune. I am the mother mentioned in the article. This teen who stole the zune was not my daughters boyfriend or a close friend he was just a kid she knew from school. The news people kinda got it mixed up , I refused to speak to the media. My daughter came to me and told me about this kid telling her about it he was upset by the images .I made my daughter hunt this kids down took her 2 hours and bring him to me. I gave him 50 bucks for the thing and I took it to the sheriffs. He knew I was going to turn it in an agreed it should be. He was polite and he felt stuck between letting this guy get away with it and not helping the kids he saw and not going to jail for thieft. He almost deleted the zune but wanted the guy caught. I have only met him 3 times onces when he was 12 . When he handed over the zune to me and once in court when we went to testify. The comments on the link from the article are amusing at best.http://www.fredericksburg.com/News/FLS/2008/042008/04022008/367979
