PINELLAS PARK - Leaving a trail of blood as he climbed two sets of stairs, Richard Levo managed to make it back to his second-story apartment early Thursday and call 911.

Panting, he told a dispatcher he had just been beaten by two teenagers he caught trying to steal a neighbor's car.

The 51-year-old unemployed technician, known for his vigilance at the apartment complex, said he was losing a lot of blood. "Hurry up," he said, according to a tape of the 911 call.

In three hours, Levo was dead.

...Levo was stabbed more than a half dozen times in the back and more than a half dozen times in his chest and stomach, investigators said.

This is strange. Tiffany Mitchell testified against Aaron Cook in his trial in June, 2012. She previously received 22 years in prison in a plea deal.
What is strange is there is no mention in the news anywhere of a verdict or a sentence in the case of Aaron Cook. This article was written during his trial, just before the case was to go to the jury:

I can find no mention anywhere of the final disposition of the case against Cook. Perhaps some sleuthers with more searching skills could find out what happened to him.
