Stateline native missing after Hurricane Michael hits Florida

Stateline native Tim Strand, who lives near the Florida panhandle devastated by Hurricane Michael, has been missing since early Wednesday morning.

Strand, who grew up in the South Beloit and Rockton area, is the head chef of a restaurant in Mexico Beach. He last talked to his brother Matt Strand on the phone around 7:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Matt says his brother did not want to leave the area and abandon his two dogs.

This is EXACTLY why people should be able to take their pets to shelters!
