Blurry photo / image of car around 3 a.m....

LE have a blurry photo of what might be NL's car around 3 a.m. The photo was taken from a business ' surveillance camera in Pont-de-Beauvoisin. The driver cannot yet be identified. In the passenger seat, a small white silhouette can be seen. Little Maelys was wearing white the night she disappeared.

Investigators are also going over other images / video from the car wash. NL is seen cleaning the inside passenger door and handles meticulously. He uses wipes / towelettes to do so, then is seen placing the wipes in a bag that he takes with him when he leaves, instead of throwing them away in the various trash cans on site.

UGGHHH----that is so maddening because it might allow him to get away with this horrid crime.

Et s’il assure qu’il envisageait de vendre sa voiture quelques jours plus tard, afin de justifier ce minutieux nettoyage, le trentenaire n’aurait cependant pas briqué certains éléments de carrosserie ou encore les optiques avant.

Even though he claimed he was selling his car, and that is how he justified being so meticulous about the cleaning, he didn't spend nearly as much effort and time on other parts of the car's body, or even on the front headlights.

SNIFFER DOGS SPECIALIZED IN THE SEARCH FOR HUMAN REMAINS ON LAKE AIGUEBELETTE

Le Dauphine
http://www.ledauphine.com/isere-nor...erche-de-restes-humains-au-lac-d-aiguebelette

Since this Friday morning, very specific investigations have been carried out at Lake Aiguebelette in order to find the slightest trace of Maëlys.

According to information from the Dauphiné Libéré, this new investigation involves a team of sniffer dogs from the Gendarmerie's national dog training centre based in Gramat. This team is specialized in the search for human remains. The gendarmerie has only four dog-handlers trained in this type of investigation.

With the help of eight gendarmes, this dog handler will search the two islets on the lake. This operation should last all day.

MAËLYS CASE: LELANDAIS WILL HAVE TO EXPLAIN THE WHITE SILHOUETTE IN HIS CAR

Linternaute.com
http://www.linternaute.com/actualit...rebondit-un-element-troublant-sur-le-suspect/

Nordahl Lelandais has not seen or spoken to the gendarmes or judges since he was indicted and imprisoned. He has not yet made a statement about this photograph in the hands of investigators, that seems to show a "silhouette" on the passenger seat of his car. Investigators have established, through precise work on video surveillance tapes, that the "white form" next to the driver is not an optical effect. If it is not Maëlys, what does this form correspond to? The man suspected of being responsible for the girl's disappearance will have to explain himself before the judges on this point at his forthcoming hearing.

Perhaps NL forgot to mention, in all of his previous stories, that he was using his stained pants to cover up his drug supplies? Or, no, it was the the drugs themselves, laying on the seat?

http://www.websleuths.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=123535&d=1506115130

We all know there will be (more lies) in a story he keeps writing in his brain. All IMO and speculation on his response, of course.

Poor little Maëlys, I pray you did not experience too much terror, at the hands of this monster :tears:

Do we know the date of his upcoming hearing they mention in the article?

:tyou: all for keeping this thread updated!!!

Thursday October 19. ;)

The lawyer of NL cancelled that hearing because he had not received all the documents. I have not seen a new date.

The suspect's hearing postponed at the request of the lawyer

Moreover, the public prosecutor of Grenoble has indicated that Nordhal Lelandais, who has not spoken to the investigators since he was imprisoned, will be heard by the investigating magistrates. He was summoned for an interview on Thursday, 19 October, but his lawyers had this hearing cancelled because they did not have all the information on file.

The hearing of the main suspect Nordhal Lelandais was postponed this week, at the request of his lawyer Alain Jakubowicz. The respondent has not seen the judges since his indictment on September 3. Alain Jakubowicz refused to accept any communication at the moment and asked for the hearing to be postponed because he "was not in possession of the entire file", according to the Grenoble prosecutor.

THE GENDARMES HAVE A PICTURE OF NORDAHL LELAINDAIS' CAR WITH A SHADOW THAT INTRIGUES THEM

Le Parisien
http://www.leparisien.fr/faits-dive...lle-20-10-2017-7345986.php#xtor=AD-1481423553

It's a blurred outline image with a disturbing white reflection on the front right passenger side. Like a drop shadow. But this piece is undoubtedly a determining factor in advancing the investigation into the disappearance of Maëlys de Araujo, 9 years old, on 27 August from a wedding party in Pont-de-Beauvoisin (Isère).

The gendarmes have had this clue since the first days of their investigation, coming from a video-protection camera of a public establishment in this commune shared between Isère and Savoie. The document is "speaking" for those who have viewed it. This "digital recording" clearly shows a three-door Audi A 3, a dark-coloured three-door model corresponding in every respect to the model owned by the suspect, 34-year-old Nordahl Lelandais, whose arms are visible and recognizable since a piece of jewellery has been identified on one of his hands.

What was Nordahl, the last minute guest of this wedding, doing on this photo taken between 3 and 4 o' clock in the morning at Pont-de-Beauvoisin, on the Savoie side? Just when everyone was looking for Maëlys. But the strangest thing about this document, of which the initial quality is not very good, is the white shadow that emanates from inside the vehicle, a shadow that is not a reflection due to external lighting.

It turns out that Maëlys was wearing a white dress that night, as the call for witnesses testifies. But to make a direct link from there between her supposed presence in the Audi cabin and the abduction, that step has not yet been taken. This information has not been denied this time by the Grenoble prosecutor, Jean-Yves Coquillat. It is an information that had to be protected, even if it meant making a pious lie so as not to make the existence of this image known, the nature of which was not to be revealed too early," according to a judicial source.

For weeks now, the gendarmerie technicians at the Institut de Recherches Criminelles, but also at an external laboratory, have been trying to "reassemble" the precious image in order to refine the contours and find out if this shadow can correspond to the silhouette of Maëlys. A delicate work of digital reconstruction has been undertaken. But the quality of the image seems to be a handicap in clarifying this difficult task. An obstacle that may only be temporary.

This clue was to be the key card for the two investigating judges who were scheduled to hear Nordahl this week. A hearing was finally postponed until October 27th, at the request of his lawyers, to obtain undigitized documents.
Maëlys's parents' lawyer, Me Rajon, always considers himself optimistic and believes that "when reading the file, things are moving forward". But nearly two months after her disappearance, the girl remains untraceable despite almost daily searches in forested areas and water bodies in the region.

LEAKS IN THE MAËLYS CASE: MOTHER OF THE SUSPECT BLAMES THE GENDARMES

Ouest-France.fr
https://www.ouest-france.fr/faits-d...-mere-du-suspect-charge-les-gendarmes-5337516

Christiane L., the mother of the main suspect in the case of Maëlys' disappearance, reacted to the opening of an investigation for violation of investigative secrecy in the face of numerous leaks in the press. She showed her support for the public prosecutor's office in Grenoble and blamed the gendarmes.

Exasperated by the leaks in the press of many elements of the Maëlys case, the Grenoble prosecutor, Jean-Yves Coquillat, decided to open an investigation on Tuesday for violation of the secrecy of the investigation. This task has been entrusted to the Central Directorate of the Judicial Police (DCPJ) and to the Interregional Directorate of the Lyon Judicial Police (DIPJ).

When interviewed by RTL, the mother of prime suspect Nordhal L., applauded the decision. "He's absolutely right, we have to put an end to this. He did his job very well, I think he's an honest man," says Christiane L, in a report aired on Wednesday. According to her, "gendarmes are involved" in these leaks. "From whom might this originate? " she questions.

This investigation for violation follows a complaint on Friday by Alain Jakubowicz, the new lawyer for Nordahl L., who is suspected of kidnapping the 9-year-old girl at a wedding in Pont-de-Beauvoisin, Isère, at the end of August. The 34-year-old former soldier, who denies involvement despite disturbing evidence, was indicted and jailed on 3 September for kidnapping and forcible confinement. DNA from the girl's DNA that was found inside his vehicle.

The prosecutor also formally denied information according to which the suspect's hearing by the investigating magistrates, which had been postponed at the request of his counsel, would take place on Friday.

Jean-Yves Coquillat said he was overwhelmed to "see every day in the press all the details of the investigation, including those that the public prosecutor's office does not know, and things that do not need to be known" and that hinder the smooth course of investigations. According to him,"the leaks are at the local and Parisian level, at the level of the gendarmerie's management, the Section de recherches and the IRCGN (Institut de recherche criminelle de la Gendarmerie nationale).

The director general of the gendarmerie (DGGN) considered the peremptory accusations made by the magistrate "scandalous ".

Two months in, there is no 'new' news and little Maëlys remains missing.

Let's keep our fingers crossed that the forensic experts are making progress, and the news is only lacking because there are no more leaks to the press.

The great concern about these leaks to the press happens against the background of 'L'affaire Grégory' in 1980, a case that is haunting France even today. This young boy, aged 4 was abducted from his home and later found murdered. In 1985, his father shot and killed the alleged suspect who had been released. The murder of Grégory remains unsolved though there are recent new developments.

It is absolutely harrowing the number of lives that have been destroyed due to Gregory's murder and the investigation into it. I feel so sad whenever I read about it.

Bumping for Maelys, hoping for news soon!

SUNDAY NOVEMBER 5 IS MALËLYS' NINTH BIRTHDAY

LeDauphine
http://www.ledauphine.com/isere-nor...de-maelys-un-lacher-de-ballons-pour-ses-9-ans

For over two months now when the drama that began in the night of 27 August in Pont-de-Beauvoisin (Isère), Maëlys has been missing. The little girl, who was preparing for her re-entry into fourth grade, would have been 9 years old on 5 November.

Symbolically, this is the date that her family chose to organize a balloon release. It will take place on Sunday morning (around 10.30 a. m.) at the Abrets-en-Dauphiné football stadium, in Bisso Park, at the halftime of a game and in the presence of her family and friends. Hers is a close-knit family, still waiting for the truth about what happened to their child.

Balloon release for the ninth birthday of Maëlys, who remains missing

Her mother speaks:

We, your parents, your sister, our family our friends, we are all here for you today.
We hope that the truth will be revealed as soon as possible.
We thank everyone who has come here today and who supports us in our misery.
We love you Maëlys!
Happy birthday my sweetheart!

Every day that goes by the more and more convinced I am that Maelys is a victim of child sexual trafficking. I think NL took her from the party and handed her off to someone who was waiting.

I hope that the gendarmes will not stop trying to find her or ease up on NL. Any child is one too many.

My heart breaks for Maelys and her family.

MAËLYS: LAWYER OF NORDAHL L. PLAYS THE PROCEDURAL CARD THAT BLOCKS ALL FURTHER QUESTIONING

France Soir
http://www.francesoir.fr/societe-fa...isissement-parquet-pont-de-beauvoisin-enquête

This weekend, the threshold of 11 weeks of the disappearance of Maëlys de Araujo will be crossed. It was in the night of August 26-27 that the child vanished in the parking lot of the Pont-de-Beauvoisin multi-purpose hall, during a wedding party. Massive searches of almost all the water points in the region have yielded nothing, and the investigation focuses mainly on suspect number one, Nordahl Lelandais, who was indicted at the beginning of September and claims his innocence from his cell in the Saint-Quentin-Fallavier prison (Isère).

Several elements are indeed overwhelming for the former military man described as violent, addicted and occasional drug dealer. A DNA trace of the child was found in his car and he had to admit, after denying it, that she got into his car. A car that he cleaned with extreme care the next day, which casts doubt on the motive for the sale of the vehicle (which is correct). Finally, unexplained round-trips, including one at the time of the child's disappearance, point to the 34-year-old man who lived in Domessin (Savoie) and came to the wedding for dessert after having participated in the wine of honour.

However, after a long silence since the first hearing by the judges, Nordahl Lelandais' defence has decided to go on the offensive. At the end of October, a motion for a declaration of invalidity was filed by the defender of the former military officer, Alain Jakubowicz. Obviously well reasoned, it is this procedure that has made it possible to suspend any further hearing of the principal suspect who has not had to explain himself before the investigation since the day of his indictment on 3 September.

The defence's request is based on article 64 (1) of the Code of Criminal Procedure, which states that "hearings of persons placed in police custody for crime, carried out on the premises of a police department or unit or gendarmerie carrying out a judicial police mission, shall be recorded on audio-visual tape", which would not have been the case when Nordahl Lelandais was first detained. He was initially detained for 20 hours by the gendarmes before being released, then put under investigation and remanded in custody 48 hours later when a DNA test certified Maëlys' presence in his car at a time of the evening.

According to a source quoted by journalist Vincent Wales of the Ebra group, this application, which is to be examined by the investigating chamber, "is not considered suspensive. However, due to the seriousness and sensitivity of the case, however, the judges will not take the risk of questioning the respondent on points raised during these three initial hearings, as there is a risk that they may be void, and thus lead to a cascade of invalidity of the interrogation."

Even after the examination of the application, probably by the end of the month, there is no indication that Nordahl Lelandais will be interrogated quickly. Alain Jakubowicz could then file a motion for dismissal following the investigation opened by the Grenoble Public Prosecutor's Office following the alleged leaks by the gendarmerie in the media. If there is no clear evidence to exonerate the presumed innocent, the defence plays the procedural card and puts pressure on the investigation in this particularly sensitive case, in which tension does not recede. The girl, however, remains untraceable and no large-scale searches are currently underway.
