NORDAHL LELANDAIS REFUSES TO SPEAK TO THE JUDGES, HEARING LASTS ONLY 10 MINUTES

20 Minutes.fr

The investigators were waiting to learn more. But Nordahl Lelandais would have preferred to remain silent, refusing to answer the investigating judges' questions. The former soldier, who confessed last week to killing Maëlys, was taken this Thursday morning to the Grenoble courthouse to explain the circumstances of the child's death.

According to France Bleu, the interrogation lasted only about ten minutes. The suspect categorically refused to speak on the subject. So the hearing ended abruptly.

Alain Jakubowicz, lawyer for Nordahl Lelandeis, did not wish to speak for the moment.

Just bringing this post from last week forward:

Not because he waits to know what the forensics will be able to prove, right? Is it wrong of me to think that he is waiting to know what traces were left after 6 months in order to adapt his "accident" story?

NORDAHL LELANDAIS 'NOT IN A STATE TO ANSWER QUESTIONS'

France Info.tv
https://www.francetvinfo.fr/faits-d...entendu-par-les-juges-a-grenoble_2623302.html

Nordahl Lelandais the suspect in the murder of Maëlys was "not in a position" to answer questions from the Grenoble investigating magistrates before whom he was presented on Thursday 22 February, according to information gathered by franceinfo from a source close to the case.

The ex-military arrived just before 10am at the Grenoble courthouse after being taken earlier this morning from the hospital unit in Bron (Rhône), near Lyon, where he has been hospitalized since last Friday.

His hearing on the circumstances of Maëlys's death at the end of August at a wedding in Pont-de-Beauvoisin, in Isère, didn't even last thirty minutes according to France Bleu Isère. Under medical treatment, the former soldier told the judges that his heavy treatment put him in a state where he could not answer the questions and, requesting some time, he explained that he would do so.

The judges wish to hear him before the autopsy carried out on Maëlys' body is completedle. Her remains were discovered Thursday 14 February in the Chartreuse massif on the indications of Nordahl Lelandais after he confessed to having "involuntarily" killed the child, but refusing to express himself on the circumstances of her death.

The ex-military left Grenoble on Thursday 22 February under escort to return to the specially equipped hospital unit (UHSA) in Bron, near Lyon in the Rhône, learned franceinfo from a source close to the file.

Since his confession, the former soldier, who has seen six psychiatrist experts, claims to be psychologically fragile
. The prison administration wants to avoid any risk of suicide attempts. He is therefore subject to special surveillance within this special unit.

Le Monde has a different take:

http://www.lemonde.fr/police-justic...use-de-nordahl-lelandais_5260967_1653578.html

Neither the public prosecutor nor the defence communicated at the end of the hearing, a judicial source simply stated that it was "not for health reasons"

COUNSEL FOR MAËLYS' FAMILY APPALLED BY SILENCE OF NORDAHL LELANDAIS

Dauphiné Libéré
http://www.ledauphine.com/isere-nor...s-est-arrive-au-palais-de-justice-de-grenoble

"I am appalled by the attitude of the suspect who refuses to explain himself as to the circumstances of the child's death," Mr. Rajon, lawyer for Maëlys's parents, told the Dauphiné Libéré this evening. He had just spoken with the girl's parents. And he added:

"The theory of accident does not convince anyone and obviously not the respondent himself either, since he is unable to give any explanation on this subject. This new silence is a blatant insult to the young victim's loved ones."

:banghead:

There are 2 cases in wich there is a link with Nordahl Lelandais:

Maëlys (indicted)
Arthur Noyer (indicted)

There are 2 cases under verification in which there is a possible link with Nordahl Lelandais:

Ahmed Hamadou (knew each other from sight, AH would have needed and accepted a ride)
Adrien Fiorello (his phone pinged ar Chambéry train station, near where NL lived at the time. Not known if AF was with his phone, he had no known reason to be there.)

There are two cases with possible links where families have requested verification:

Rachid Rameche (was possibly staying in the same institution with NL, unclear if they have met or knew each other, unclear if NL was hospitalized, may have been outpatient.)
Lucie Roux (was possibly staying in the same institution with NL, unclear if they have met or knew each other, unclear if NL was hospitalized, may have been outpatient.)

In all cases where verification is under way, it is not known what happpened to the missing person, or what happened to those who were found deceased.

IMHO calling Nordahl Lelandais a possible suspect creates some confusion. The reason that he is being investigated, has everything to do with the two cases in which he has been charged, and the verification process is started to find out if he has anything to do with other unexplained disappearances in the area.

Chances are that he has nothing to do with any of them, but for many families this is an opportunity to revive the search for their missing loved one.
On a political level, the French are pushing for a special department that registers and investigates all cases of missing persons. This is long overdue in France. Highlighting these cases shows the urgency.

Hope this helps.

Thank you for this detailed and well thought out post.

I do agree that bringing information about these mysterious killings back to the public eye can be very beneficial. These poor families should be given a chance to find the truth about what happened to their loved ones.

I hope there is a registry set up to help do so. I was surprised to find out there were so many missing or murdered victims in that beautiful country. I hope these families eventually get the truth revealed.

Thank you for the updates on today's hearing!

So, no "new" date for his confession?

TIA!

Oh, did you want me to change the "possible suspect" to "possible link" in some of those people on the list?

Hi Niner, I looked up the info about the disappearance of Arthur Noyer and IMHO it is the process of verification that precedes the (possible) link or (possible) suspect.

In the case of Arthur Noyer, an Audi had been seen on CCTV in the area where he disappeared. Nordahl Lelandais has an A4, but that is hardly conclusive because there are thousands in the region.
Then Maëlys disappears, Nordahl Lelandais is arrested and his phones are investigated. Somehow, someone decides to also check with other disappearances in the region. They choose the one of Arthur Noyer, compare phone records and bingo! they hit gold.
So through this verification, links were established and Nordahl Lelandais was indicted. First for sequestration without liberation and shortly after, when a DNA-test proved that the remains of a skull that had been found belonged to Arthur Noyer, also for assasination.

Same verification process is done for Estelle Mouzin. Results come quickly: Nordahl Lelandais was on another continent when Estelle disappeared and he is ruled out. There are no links, he is not named a suspect.

In other cases the verification process is under way, but the investigation will be far more complicated, it will take longer to establish links if there are some, and it will take even more to name or exclude Nordahl Lelandais as a possible suspect.

IMHO it would be better to note the verification without mentioning the 'possible suspect' since verification is not done because he is a possible suspect, but to establish if he might be.

The same goes for the possible links - there may be links between certain persons and Nordahl Lelandais, but these links may have nothing to do with a crime or with the disappearance.

For instance, if nothing puts Nordahl Lelandais near the Col de Tamié, then the fact that he and Ahmed Hamadou may have known each other from sight is indeed a link between the two, but not a link in the disappearance of Ahmed. The verification process must clarify this.

Haven't seen a new court date yet.

Found a reporter who is on the case and on twitter too and asked the question about NL being in prison when CM disappeared.

I hope he will answer ... might ask him more about the prison and the ankle bracelet. But not everybody who is on twitter is also active on twitter, many use it only as an automatic link.

:waiting:

The reporter has written a reply!

Here goes:

Me: Wasn't Nordahl Lelandais in prison when Coralie Moussu disappeared?

Helpful Twitter Individual: You don't know WTF. He was never effectively in prison, he 'served' 12 months with an ankle bracelet.

Reporter: Le Midi Libre published an article with the testimony of a friend of Lelandais. He tells that the latter regularly came to Montpellier to party between 2008 and 2012.

This does not quite seem the answer that we were looking for. ;)

Was Nordahl Lelandais able to party with an ankle bracelet? was he able to go to as far as Montpellier (370 kms)?

Coralie Moussu disappeared from her home in Vénéjan in the morning of November 6, 2009. From Vénéjan to Montpellier is 1.5 hrs by car, 117 kms. To (or from) Chambéry it is 2.5 hrs by car.

While the remains of Coralie were found a year later, her car is still missing.

How is this supposed to have happened? If Nordahl Lelandais was on his way to or from Montpellier or visiting relatives in the area, he would have been by car.
He somehow meets Coralie and murders her. He drops the body in the Rhone river and makes the car disappear. Assuming that he knew how to do this, how did he get back to his own car?

Disappearance of Coralie Moussu: the thesis of suicide ruled out

The autopsy of the body of the 32-year-old woman, found in the Rhône in December, reveals that she did not drown. The investigators are back to square one and are now focusing on the criminal track.

After eighteen months of anguish, Coralie Moussu's friends and family are starting to get answers. The young woman, who mysteriously disappeared in November 2009 in the Gard and whose body was found last December in the Rhône, would not have committed suicide. The second autopsy carried out by forensic doctors revealed that Coralie Moussu did not drown, Le Dauphiné Libéré reported on Tuesday.

The first autopsy revealed nothing because the body of the young mother had been in the water for too long. No suspicious traces had been noticed, suggesting that Coralie Moussu might have died a natural or deliberate death. The second autopsy, more meticulous, delivered an entirely different version that completely overturned the investigation: Coralie Moussu was most certainly killed before she was thrown into the water. We don't know for the time being how this crime happened.

Coralie Moussu's family has been defending this thesis for several months now. Since the young woman's body was found in the waters of the Rhone at Port-Saint-Louis-du-Rhône, very far from her home in Vénéjan, where she disappeared. "You don't go hundreds of kilometres to kill yourself," members of her family told Midi Libre. Especially since the young woman was doing well at the time of her disappearance. She was delighted with her role as a mother to a young Lou who was 2 years old at the time and with her career change.

The investigation is now starting from scratch. The gendarmes will have to carry out new searches, notably on the Rhone side. And start looking again for what could be a key element of the investigation: Coralie Moussu's car, a black Nissan Micra with 2899 YZ 30 registration. The young woman was last seen inside this vehicle on the morning of November 6,2009. She had just dropped her daughter off at her mother's house for two hours, while she was preparing the exam to take a CAP [ Certificate of Professional Competence ] early childhood.

The remains of Coralie Moussu were found where the Rhone river flows into the Mediterranean. If her body had entered the water near Vénéjan, it would have had to pass various barriers (hydropower plants!) in the river. Apparently, it has been determined that this did not happen.

Meanwhile, if the car still hasn't been found, it has possibly gone into the sea, or been shipped to Africa.

The study of telephony did not give anything for the disappearance of Adrien Mourialmé

"Among the other disappearances that interest the investigators, is that of Adrien Mourialmé, a 24 year old Belgian, who disappeared on July 5, 2017. This young man worked a seasonal job as a cook in Talloires. His disappearance took place a few months before Corporal Arthur Noyer vanished in Chambéry, on the night of April 11th to the 12th. And just like Arthur, Adrien used to hitchhike. He also often hiked around Lake Annecy. In the investigation concerning Arthur Noyer, the telephony investigation established that Lelandais' cell phone and the corporal's cell phone were confined to the same locations for almost an hour.

The study of telephony, in the case of the young cook, is completed. Paris Match has learned that it has given nothing. "Nor does it mean that Nordahl Lelandais was not on the scene," said Belgian family lawyer Stéphane Decamp. He could have turned off his phone well before the fact. Mr. Decamp hopes that the investigation will not be abandoned, despite this element."

Okay - I hope you all don't mind that I repost my list. I've made some changes. Possible "suspect" is now possible "link". Those are the ones in blue. Also added Coralie Moussu and on Adrien Mourialmé's description added a quote from the attorney for his family. Also, please note the comments in red. I've added some to it per the tweeter post. Should I leave it in?

Nordahl Lelandais in April 2001, he joined the 132nd dog battalion of Suippes (Marne). He had enlisted for five years, he only lasted four, and was struck off in April 2005. Re another article says: He will have had time to obtain a basic certificate of dog handler, to perform two missions of four month was stationed in Suippes (Marne), in the 132nd Army Dog Battalion, between 2002 and 2007.

The ex-military is "noticed" in October 2008, with two accomplices, engaging in a battle of eggs and fruits in a supermarket, by burning tricolor flags, and a restaurant in Paladru (Isère). He will be sentenced to one year in prison, but received a sentence adjustment. Under an electronic bracelet starting April 2009. He was released on parole in October 2010.
Per Twitter reporter: He was never effectively in prison, he 'served' 12 months with an ankle bracelet (April 2009 to April 2010). Reporter: Le Midi Libre published an article with the testimony of a friend of Lelandais. He tells that the latter regularly came to Montpellier to party between 2008 and 2012.
Wondering "what" day he was released from ankle bracelet, as Adrien Fiorello was killed; was he anxious to kill again on the 6th?

Estelle Mouzin, 9, disappeared on 9 January 2003 in Guermantes (Seine-et-Marne), around 6 pm between her house and her school. Nordahl Lelandais was 19 years old, he was at the military camp of Suippes (Marne), 150 kilometers away but was sent on a mission to the East at the time of the disappearance. In the Estelle Mouzin case, it was enough for the investigators to question the army to learn that he was on a mission in Guyana at the time of the girl's disappearance in 2003 in Seine-et-Marne. Excluded: File is closed.

Nordahl started his dog training business in Chambéry in February 2010, business can be placed near the Chambéry train station starting in 2010. According to Google Maps, it is only 550 meters away: a 7 minute walk, or a 3 minute drive. The Chambéry train station was said to be the last location where Adrien Fiorello's phone pinged. The head office of this company was located 317 rue Nicolas Parent - 73000 Chambery

In 2010, Nordahl Lalandais:
was in prison from .... to ... (not in prison, on ankle monitor)
was somewhere with an ankle monitor from April 2009 to April 2010
registered the start of his dog training company in Chambéry in February 2010
became depressed and passed a while in the psychiatric hospital in Chambéry OR was an out-patient from ... to ... ?

Rachid Rameche, disappeared in 2009 June, in Bassens (Savoie) while he was in a psychiatric institution. He might have been in the same institution as Lucie Roux, in Bassens. Request from family to investigate.

Coralie Moussu - the autopsy of the body of the 32-year-old woman, found in the Rhône in December, reveals that she did not drown. The investigators are back to square one and are now focusing on the criminal track. Coralie Moussu's car, a black Nissan Micra with 2899 YZ 30 registration. Nicolas Suppo, 30 years old, disappeared on 15 September 2010 near Echirolles. He disappeared during his lunch break. His coworkers saw him at work in the morning. Earlier: Probably not a suspect; same region as NL; preliminary investigation. Now on list of: possible link; verification under way.

Adrien Fiorello, a 22-year-old student who disappeared on 6 October 2010 in Firminy (Loire) while he was on his way to the university in Chambéry (savoie). The young man's cell phone last pinged in Chambéry (train station) at 5:37 p.m. on October 6, 2010. We don't know if it was ever physically located. Chambéry is where Nordahl Lelandais had a dog breeding business at that time. He was supposed to be in Saint-Étienne, not Chambéry, the day he vanished. Saint-Étienne is where he went to university classes. How his phone ended up in Chambéry is still a mystery. The two cities are about 150 kilometers apart. Possible link, verification under way.

Nelly Balmain was 29 when she leaves the family home of Saint-Jean-en-Royans (Drôme) on a scooter, without reappearing. She disappears on 8 August 2011. Earlier: Verification in progress; request from family to investigate.

Jean-Christophe Morin, 23, disappeared on 9-10 September 2011 during an electro party at Tamié Fort in Albertville (Savoie). Possible link; verification under way.

Kévin Fauvel, 27, on the night of 1-2 April 2012, left the community of Jansiac, located in Châteauneuf-Miravail, in the Jabron Valley. Since then, his family has no news.

Malik Boutvillain, 32, disappeared on 6 May 2012 in Echirolles (Isère). He was out jogging. Earlier: Probably not a suspect; same region as NL; preliminary investigation. New on list of: possible suspect; verification under way.

Hugo Raffi, 28 years old missing from Albertville since 15 June 2012.

Ahmed Hamadou, 45, disappeared in 7-8 September 2012 at Fort Tamié (Savoie). According to this 2012 article Yan and Ahmed (who knew each other since one week) arrived together in the car at 4am, then Yan got into two fights with the festival security, lost his cell phone and broke his glasses. He left quite hurriedly alone in his car, leaving Ahmed behind (4 witnesses confirm this). He arrived at a friend's place at 6am, telling him he went to the gendarmerie (for his cell phone?). They tried to call Ahmed but could not reach him. Then Yan left and disappeared for 15 days. Possible link; verification under way.

Lucie Roux, 43, disappears on 16 September 2012 while residing in the psychiatric centre in Bassens in Chambéry (Savoie). Request from family to investigate.

Stéphane Chemin, 33 years old, who suffers from schizophrenia, disappeared on 24 September 2012 in Bourg-d' Oisans region (Isère). Earlier: Probably not a suspect; same region as NL; preliminary investigation. New on List of: possible link; verification under way.

Florent Bonnet, 37 years old, who disappeared on 18 January 2014 in Bourg-Saint-Maurice (Savoie). He was on a motorcycle and his two-wheeler was found near the Siaix tunnel, with a helmet on it. Probably not a victim of NL. Request from family to investigate.

Eve Monteil, 49 years old, on 25 August 2014, in Bourg-en-Bresse (Ain).

Lucas Tronche, then 15 years old, had disappeared on 18 March 2015, at 5:15 p. m., when he was on his way to a bus stop in the commune of Bagnols-sur-Cèze. Possible link; verification under way.

Nordine Seghiri, 49, disappeared on 10 July 2015 from a hospital in Chambéry (Savoie). Request from family to investigate.

Anne-Charlotte Poncin, 30 years old, disappeared on 5 January 2016 in Ambérieu-en-Bugey (Ain). In the morning, she leaves her home to go downtown for work . Request from family to investigate

Antoine Zoia, 16-year-old teenager has not been found since 1 March 2016. He disappeared in Clarensac, near Nîmes, also in the Gard, during a stroll during which he had to go to a tobacco store. Possible link; verification under way.

Ilhan Sahingoz, 39 years old missing from Albertville since 11 April 2016.

Olivier Charpe, 59, never returned from a mountain bike ride on 12 August 2016 in Saint-Romans (Isère).

Georgette Amat Chantoux (Georgette Bonnet), 79 years old, residing in Lumbin. She was reported missing in October 2016, but her phone had not been active since 9 September 2016. Georgette lived alone and had little contact with her family. According to the neighbours, she used go to the mountains to pick blueberries (not mushrooms) in the Belledonne Massif. Het car was found there, in a parking lot. It had been there for weeks. "In the Bonnet case, the only reason for the reopening of the investigation is the geographical proximity (a distance of about 15 kilometers) between the area of [her] ??disappearance and the places of discovery of Arthur Noyer's bones, in Montmélian, of which Nordahl Lelandais is suspected of murder." Earlier: Probably not suspect; same region as NL; preliminary investigation. Now on list of: possible link; verification under way.

Éric Foray, 47, disappeared on 16 September 2016, shortly after noon, after he had recently done some shopping in Chatuzange-le-Goubet (Drôme). Request from family to investigate.

Arthur Noyer, 23 years old, disappeared in 11-12 April 2017 in Chambéry. The night of the young soldier's disappearance, the mobile phones of Lelandais and the corporal triggered several relays in the Chambéry region at the same time. This supports the thesis that both men were travelling in the same car, namely the Audi A3 from Lelandais. The vehicle was filmed by a video surveillance camera in Chambéry. Arthur Noyer disappeared as he hitchhiked around 4 a. m. to get back to his barracks after a night spent in a disco. The investigators said he got into Nordahl Lelandeis' car. Indicted on 12/20/17 for this murder.

Adrien Mourialmé, 24 years old, disappeared in 5 July 2017 on the shores of Lake Annecy (Haute-Savoie). The young man disappeared without taking his belongings. His bank account and phone have not been active since July 4th. He left most of his belongings at the hotel where he was working as a cook in Talloires-Montmin (Haute-Savoie), and vanished. 2/24/18: The study of telephony, in the case of the young cook, is completed. Paris Match has learned that it has given nothing. "Nor does it mean that Nordahl Lelandais was not on the scene," said Belgian family lawyer Stéphane Decamp. He could have turned off his phone well before the fact. Mr. Decamp hopes that the investigation will not be abandoned, despite this element Possible link; verification under way.

Maëlys De Araujo, 9 years old, disappeared at Pont-de-Beauvoisin in 27 August 2017. Indicted for this murder; 2/14/18 confessed to killing Maëlys "accidentally".

FANTASTIC work on that long, tragic list, Niner. :rose:

It is important that they are all listed, because they all deserve Justice and the truth. If it is not this killer, then let's clear him from that crime and find out who else to investigate...

It looks like there is another Serial Killer or two lurking in the region...

Hello,

There are 4 more people to add on the list of the missing :

Cyril Ribeaucourt, 25 years old, disappeared on 5 july 2012 in Sainte-Agnès (Isere) at a rave party. He has been seen at his awakening on sunday at 7am at this party but has been missing since.

Jade Pesnon, 23 years old, disappeared on october 2014 in Chambery. She has leave open the door of her Chambery appartment. She has left with her car (a white opel corsa with car plate BY-914-SW). Her phone was switched off. Before her disappearance, she was just leaving the Bassens (Savoie) psychiatric institution (so at Bassens as Rachid Rameche and Lucie Roux). The last evidence is found in Turin (Italy) where her credit cart has been used on friday 17 october 2014. Since nothing.

Thomas Rauschkolb, 18 years old, disappeared on the night of 26 to 27 december 2015 in Grésy-sur-aix after leaving the nightclub « studio 54 » (20 minutes in car ride from Chambery). His body has been found on 28 december 2015 in the river « Le Sierroz » (nearly 100 meters from the nightclub) at Grésy-sur-Aix (Savoie). Curious fact : after leaving the nightclub, he takes the opposite direction and follows a dead end passageway. At the end of this alley, he step over a fence as he was maybe trying to escape something. In his race, he loose a shoe and fall 14 meters below. His belt was found caught in the grid on the garden side. Why has he taken off his belt ? There were marks on his phalanges. As Jean-Christophe Morin, he seemed afraid of someone.

Lucas Sandrini, 18 years old, disappeared on sunday 23 april 2017. His hometown is Irigny (Rhône). His car (a 206 peugeot) has been found on 25 april at Autrans in the Vercors (west of Grenoble) at the entrance of the Mortier tunnel (tunnel closed years ago). His body has been found on 21 may 2017 at the foot of a cliff, after hikers have found his backpack. This cliff is located between the locality of Autrans and Noyarey. No suspicious injury found on his body, only from the fall. So an accidental death was preferred until now. But two days after his disappearance, his phone has pinged at Châbons (Isere) located between Bourgoin-Jallieu and Voiron. Nordahl Lelandais was an amateur climber. And on 25 april, Nordahl Lelandais has searched on internet (on his phone and not on a computer) how a body decompose and how to make it disappear. Châbons locality (near Paladru Lake) is only 34 kilometers from Domessin (where Nordahl Lelandais was living in his parents home after his double herniated disk).

And Coralie Mousu body was found butchered in the Rhône one year after her disappearance.

On Nordahl Lelandais life :

He has been apparently molested at his middle school as a teenager. He has been at this school briefly for practicing sport while studying and left suddenly after only one year there.
The school principal has later been jailed for sexual assault on students.

In 2004, he accidentaly set on fire his bedroom (maybe drug consumption related).

He also claims to have lived in Bangkok in 2012. His Facebook pictures show him on vacation in Thailand. (But he’s a known liar so…)

In february 2017, double herniated disk after a job as a storekeeper/forklift. So he has been on sick leave since and jobless was living in his parents home at Domessin.

(Sorry for my bad english but if it can be helpful.)

Bonjour Tea15 and welcome to Websleuths!

Thank you for your list. Do you have links to MSM (Newspapers, Police) for the info that you provide?
Are these disappearances being verified in relation to Nordahl Lelandais? Or has verification been requested?

I was aware of the disappearance of Jade Pesnon, and disappearing in Italy does not seem to point at any involvement of Nordahl Lelandais. Why would that be the case?

Lucas Sandrini fell off a cliff. His phone was geolocated before he was found. I cannot find any MSM source that links him with Nordahl Lelandais, and nothing that indicates anything other than a fall.

In 2014, Nordahl Lelandais and a friend find a body while walking in the Chailles canyon ("les georges de Chailles" in French). They reported it to police. Later, they have learned that it was a romanian man who has fallen while trying to escape from a burglary. This friend also reported that Nordahl said to him : « Ha ! I know how to hide someone definitively » It sent chills up his spine.

« En 2014, nous raconte un ami du suspect, on a trouvé, lui et moi, en se baladant, un corps dans les gorges de Chailles. On l’a signalé, on a su ensuite qu’il s’agissait d’un Roumain qui était tombé en s’échappant d’un cambriolage. Nordahl m’a dit : “Ah ! Je sais comment dissimuler quelqu’un de façon à ce qu’on ne le retrouve jamais.” Ça m’a fait froid dans le dos. »

This 30 minute investigative report (Envoyé Spécial ) goes over other disappearances that might be linked to Nordahl Lelandais.

They do mention the case of Thomas Rauschkolb in this video. There are no subtitles, but it is interesting.

At the end, Grenoble prosecutor Coquillat admits he may have made a mistake in the Malik Boutvillain case, hence its recent re-opening.

Here is part of an article written in December 2015, about what happened to Thomas Rauschkolb:

"This Sunday (December 27, 2015) around 4:50 p.m., the father of an 18-year-old man contacted the gendarmes to report the disappearance of his son. The latter was last seen around 2:30 a.m., during the night from Saturday to Sunday while leaving the "Studio 54" nightclub in Grésy-sur-Aix.

The young man left the nightclub, leaving behind his jacket. The gendarmes immediately established a search perimeter around the nightclub, especially to the bridge that spans the Sierroz at this location."

Thomas R.'s body was found the next day, in the river.

Grésy-sur-Aix is about 25 minutes north of Chambéry, by car.

This is interesting on so many levels! The programme presents Maëlys' case more or less as the odd one out - the focus is on the disappearance of the many young men (and a few women) in the area. Sad to hear that even more cases than those already known weren't investigated at all - because adults would have the right to disappear :( yet no one has the right to make someone disappear and how can you tell the difference if you do not investigate?

IMHO Thomas Rauschkolb seems a possible trip gone wrong, or a psychosis. (As with J-C Morin.) But how can one know if nothing is investigated? Thomas' father should forget about the prosecutor of Chambéry and write to the one in Grenoble.

Very good that Jean Yves Coquillat issued his apologies on camera - showing others how it should be done.

IMHO the main aim of most families is not Nordahl Lelandais per se, but to move the case of their missing loved one step nearer to conclusion.
