Instead of lamenting this poor woman's lack of support... are there any organizations in her area that can be contacted that could reach out and offer support to SW?

It is killing me to see this poor woman being exploited by the media and blamed by her own family.

The district attorneys office should appoint a victims advocate for her. Her baby was murdered and she was shot TWICE. !!!!

I'm fuming at the tactics of this attorney.

Who are the fathers of DE & DL? It is weird that we have only heard from mothers, a grandmother, a sister,and aunts in this case.

What evidence do we know they have against the boys outside of the mother ID? Unfortunately, it seems like defense will take the tactic of crucifying the victim by challenging her credibility so the stronger the forensic evidence the less they can do that,

So what do they have against boys other than ID?

Statements by mother to daughter will be left out in a trial bc they are hearsay but they could come in to impeach mothers credibility. The mother is not on trial so they would not be admitted as evidence of the truth of those statements. However, they could potentially come in to impeach the witnesses credibility, that is, the fact that she said about the life insurance could not be considered as a true fact, but I think it could come in to rebut the honesty of the witness.

They will do all they can to impeach moms credibility. They will likely ask her about psychiatric history, medications, etc and try to argue medications made her groggy, etc.

They will probably try to use dads statements about being mad at mom too. They will do all they can to show mom is some nut job

I only mean this to point out a couple things I noticed, no aspersions cast here just the occurrence of tragic events in Sherry's life.
Her older son was killed on March 11, 2008, her baby was killed March 21, 2013. Her son Shaun died in West Deptford, Gloucester County, NJ, her baby died around the corner from Gloucester Street in Georgia...The Ides of March leave us alone, you are not welcome here!

Ugh...so wrapped up in the story and the tragedy, I hadn't even realized that these were the parents' names. Feeling really stupid right now.

But can you please tell me about the father yelling at the mother? I think I did miss that part.

I don't have the link, but here is a summary. Luis was angry at Sherry for the route that she took with Antonio. He had apparently told her to not go down that one street. He was shouting and the police came and arrested him. He was later released.

One thing I have noticed for sure...browsing FB profiles of family members and associates, I have never seen more RIP tributes to people as I have viewing these profiles. I think it's safe to say this group of people lived a very hard lifestyle. My mind simply does not want to believe this type of lifestyle exists. Very sad.

Some bureaucrat in the Justice Department would have to answer that. Are Filipinos a "protected minority?" Is the Father also mixed race and then the baby might be more white and therefore "unprotected."

It should not have "exclusions." Good morning everyone.I read this late last night and got soooo mad I thought it best not to comment.

How could he call these lying women "ladies"? It doesn't matter if Elkins is from a large family or a small family, he is still charged as a baby killer.

As for his use of the word dysfunctional, that is quite an understatement describing the family. And why does he "wish them the best" when they have lied to law enforcement about a murder?

You would think after reading Gough's own Facebook page, promoting the Republican Party and talking as if he were a politician already, he would watch his words.

Also the very callous attitude of "I'd rather die in the streets", "Only God can judge me" etc. No regard for their own lives much less neighbors yet they revere those that have died. I struggle to understand any of this mentality.

According to The Brunswick News this morning Karimah Elkins (DE's mother) has been booked into the Glynn County Detention Center more than 50 times since 1995 on charges ranging from misdemeanors such as shoplifting on up to felonies such as aggravated assault. She was just released from a week long stint for theft of services on the day Antonio was shot. Katrina Elkins (DE's aunt) has been booked more than 30 times in the last decade for misdemeanors and felonies such as driving with a suspended license and aggravated stalking. These *cough* ladies are no stranger to the jail system.

Ok :furious:this is where I get really mad, now that I know what issues the mom has i totally sympathize with her, she needs a spokesperson it shouldnt even be legal for them to to question or media to interview her she needs REPRESENTATION NOW she is going to really crash when this sinks in and it wont be good, I think most of us that had some doubt about this mess, if we had known her diagnosis we wouldnt have doubted her story that seemed ......well odd, I really feel for her and hope someone helps she really does NOT need to be alone right now!
