GA - Ex-POTUS Donald Trump and others indicted, 13 counts in 2020 election interference, violation of RICO Act, Aug 2023 *4 guilty* #3

I don't see why the jurors names should ever be made public.
My guess is because we have open courts and proceedings are not done in secret. It does seem uncomfortable for names to be public, but secrecy could lead to potential problems too.

The solution is - don't threaten or harm jurors! Wish we could count on each other to do at least that.

Attorneys for Donald Trump have notified a Fulton County court that the former president will not seek to have his Georgia election interference case removed to federal court.

The move comes three weeks after a judge denied a bid by co-defendant Mark Meadows, Trump's former chief of staff, to have his case moved.

I'm not surprised either but gotta admit, I wonder if it's a stall tactic?? Will Rudy claim the case can't go forward because he doesn't have a lawyer at the moment? idk

Nevermind. Rudy still has lawyers for the GA case:

Just in: Rudy Giuliani has lost one of his local Georgia counsel in the Fulton County 2020 election conspiracy case. David Wolfe filed notice with the court that he is withdrawing from the representation. He still has Brian Tevis and John Esposito left.

9/23/23 Update: Judge McAfee calendar. There will be a Calandar DAR call on 10/11/23 for specially set trial for Powell & Cheesebro. Next case management hearing for both on 9/29/23.
9/25/23 Update: The identities of the Georgia jurors who will hear the election interference trial against Trump will be kept secret until the end of the trial, Judge Scott McAfee ordered. Those jurors “shall be identified by number only in court filings or in open court during the pendency of trial,” Judge McAfee wrote in the order in Fulton County Superior Court. Parties in the case are barred from disclosing the names, addresses, telephone numbers or identifying employment information of the jury or any prospective jurors, McAfee wrote. The judge also barred videos, photographs or any other images — including drawings made “in a realistic or otherwise identifiable manner” — of those jurors. But audio recording will be allowed when the jury’s foreperson reads a verdict, the order noted. The judge’s ruling follows violent threats made against officials in Fulton County that prompted an FBI investigation.
9/25/23 Update: DA Fani Willis files brief at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit opposing Mark Meadows's efforts to move his criminal charges to federal court. Meadows "can point to no law, no constitutional provision, and no lawful duty which authorized him to take the actions he did," Willis writes. Conclusion: For the foregoing reasons, because Appellant Meadow's arguments fail to demonstrate that the District Court erred in declining to apply removal jurisdiction, the State of Georgia respectfully requests that this Court affirm the District Court's order filed by F. McDonald Wakeford, Chief Sr. Asst. DA.

State's response to defendant Chesebro's general demurrer to the indictment based on 1st Amendment protections. Guiliani's affirmative waiver of his procedural right to file a demand for Speedy trial under O.C.G.A. 17-7-170 in exchange for severance filed by John S. Esposito. State's combined response to defendant Chesebro's Motions to quash counts 9, 11, 13, 15, 17 & 19. State's response to Defendant Powells general demurrer & motion to dismiss count 1(RICO). Powell Special Demurrer. Motion to dismiss for Prosecutorial Misconduct.

The caucus announced Thursday that it was indefinitely suspending state Sen. Colton Moore of Trenton, who represents a district in Georgia’s northwest corner.

“Sen. Moore has a right to his opinion,” the caucus said in a statement. “However, during his advocacy for his ill-conceived proposal, Sen. Moore has knowingly misled people across Georgia and our nation, causing unnecessary tension and hostility, while putting his caucus colleagues and their families at risk of personal harm,” said the group, which has 32 of the Georgia Senate’s 56 members.
