Thanks for the detail, but i should have made clear that i was just posting pics of RH in a bathroom, the point being that it is a gross place to take a selfie for tinder, made more disgusting that it is a supposed 'family man'!

The other bit was in response to a comment about bathroom renovations at his home, in particular installing a larger door, imo.
Okay, no problems. I assumed you were saying it was literally the same room, my bad.

I don't think a bathroom selfie is that weird. I've never done one, but you see dozens of them on instagram and the like. I think it's because they're generally well lit and have a big mirror.

Great lighting is exactly what an alleged SK looks for when he takes a selfie, lol, bold vain man, never thought he would be caught! imo.

The door apparently had to be enlarged to accommodate RH's height.
Hey, what could possibly make for a sexier tinder date profile, than a very large, pot-bellied middle-aged man posing in his family bathroom?
speculation, imi.

THE alleged Long Island Serial Killer used a fake name on Tinder and bathroom selfies to lure women before he was finally arrested this week, court documents have revealed.

''Heuermann allegedly made several Google Pay transactions for a Tinder account in January 2011, according to American Express records that were obtained from a subpoena.

The account owner used the name "Andy," with Andrew Roberts also showing up associated with the Tinder profile.

Andrew is Heuermann's middle name, according to court docs.

The email address used for the Tinder profile was under the name "John Springfield" and had a zip code from Astoria, Queens in New York City.

A search warrant was obtained to investigate the email address, which turned up several selfies that appeared to have been taken by Heuermann.

The photos were allegedly sent to people in the hopes of soliciting and arranging hookups, which investigators believe links Heuermann to the "John Springfield" email address and Tinder profile.''
But... why mention that the door was altered? It has nothing to do with its being removed, right?

I suspect they found a tremendous amount that might be very important, or not at all important.

it takes a long time to determine which.

there must be thousands of pieces of evidence that Rex was at such-n-such location at such-n-such time via reciepts and spending records, that tediously have to be added to some time line data base and compared with crimes.

there must be hundreds of stains suspected to be blood that have to be compared to his family members, which takes time. Then compared with known victims if any is not family. Those leads get more tedious if blood that is not family or known victims is found. That co7ld be extremely important or rather mundane if, hypothetically, someone like the collegue who spoke to the press about having to measure around the vault door room, happened to cut herself and leave blood, that can be another long trail.

The above also applies to other forensic evidence; there must be so many hairs that have to be determined family or not.

they will want everythin*they can find that exculpates or eliminates others Rex might try to blame the murders on. What if the murders occurred in his home, and Rex claims he left the victims after the "date," and told the victims to go home. And that Rex didn't know what happened. LE has to be prepared to debunk "other guy" attempts to create reasonable doubt.

I am sure LE found a tremendous amount of evidence. Receipts to support CAST analysis of cell phone location in case Rex disputes it, for instance. But the evidence is probably mostly tedious, IMO.

If they found anything super dramatic, like a belonging of a victim, it's more likely to have been secreted out of the house.

I think LE presumptively believed there was something big in the bathroom. From the limited views of photos we saw, no floor was treated like the bathroom floor.

AFAIK, no door was was removed except the bathroom door.

I'm not sure what to make of the media report that a new friend and advocate of Asa's apparently reported not only that the door was removed, but that it was customized for a family member that will not be living there again, IMO.

wouldn't the trauma of the bathroom door being missing and needing a curtain be the relevant part? Who cares about who needed a modification of the door previously? why mention it?

Any part of house that looked modified?
Thinking that they wanted to examine the entire floor, including the part under the “saddle” at door frame, and under bath. The parts of the floor where liquid would travel but not reached in cleaning.
But... why mention that the door was altered? It has nothing to do with its being removed, right?

I don't know if this was mentioned, but do we know how the baby was killed? I wonder if peaches was still alive when the baby was killed...
There is no known cause of death for the child. She was found over a decade after she died, so she was completely skeletonised, and had no visible trauma to her bones.

Empathy and sympathy are not zero sum games. This forum does a great job of keeping the victims first. The reason the focus of the discussion is Ellerup and kids is because that's where the new information is coming from. We've mourned the 11 people associated with this case for years. Now that justice is tangible the news is about the new information.

She seemed a lot more coherent and spoke with more clarity than an interview I watched her do with Nancy Grace. I do believe her story and I’m not trying to discredit her but she doesn’t seem 100% in a clear state of mind in some of her interviews. MOO
Agree. She seems more out of it in some videos, and not so much in others. In the TMZ interview she was very Anna Nicole Smith out of it as another member referred to it as (that might even be you, I don't remember)

A new series premiering on Hulu is focusing on the Gilgo Beach serial murders case and suspect Rex Heuermann, who sits behind bars charged with the killings of three women on Long Island and who is the prime suspect in a fourth murder.

The streaming network has just launched the all-new series "TMZ Investigates: Gilgo Beach Serial Murders," analyzing the decades-long investigation revolving around the infamous series of killings between 1996 and 2011.

Episode 1 centers on missed warning signs in the case, including an interview with a roommate of one of the victims who gave police a detailed description of Heuermann and his vehicle, a distinct-looking Chevrolet Avalanche, more than a decade ago that was not pursued until the Suffolk County Police Department launched a task force to investigate the case in 2022.

The episode also features an interview with an escort and stylist who says she dined with Heuermann in 2015 and sensed she was in danger when he asked her if she knew about the Gilgo Beach killings.

An investigator with the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office in South Carolina said Monday he was looking into claims that a missing woman, Julia Ann Bean, was last seen in 2017 with a man who looked like Gilgo Beach serial killer suspect, Rex Heuermann.

“We’ll be looking into it on our end,” Investigator Scott Bonner told PIX11 News, confirming that Bean’s friend, Heidi Kovas, drove to Sumter County on Sunday to share information she had gleaned from the missing woman’s daughter.

Kovas had posted on Facebook over the weekend, telling PIX11 News Bean’s daughter shared texts with her that she recognized Heuermann from the last time she saw her mother, then 36, in late May 2017, shortly before her high school graduation. Kovas said the daughter had Googled a recent photo of Heuermann.

I just started watching that special on Hulu. So many women came across this SK. I do think many more women are finally being paid attention to and will find their remains somewhere.
*I’m behind, been sick. Anyways, I skimmed earlier and I thought I read something about pigs…?

eta:
"The first few days of course, very quiet, laying on his bed, looking at the ceiling," Toulon said. "But now he's participating in religious services, he goes to our rehabilitation center to take books out."

Although Heuermann has no contact with other inmates, aside from his attorney, it has been reported that he has received one visit from a non-family member. Asa Ellerup, his estranged wife, has confirmed that they have spoken on the phone. However, the extent of his communication with others remains undisclosed.

It's been mentioned that RH was a big hunter. Having a ton of guns doesn't make you one nor does target shooting.

In Louisiana, many guys don't plan major events such as weddings, etc on the opening day of hunting seasons. There are tons of seasons such as duck, dove, deer, alligator, turkey, boar, and squirrel. You have to climb up blinds, carry your animals, trudge through mud with boots. It takes stamina. RH looks too lazy for it.

I agree with that assessment - especially large game, such as bear which he supposedly went to Alaska for. With large game, it has to be field dressed (stories he loved to tell apparently) then hauled out of the wilderness to the vehicle. However, you can do something once and talk about for the rest of your life. I've wondered how much actual hunting he really did and how much was talk as a cover for other activities. We would waterski a couple months for a few summers but have gotten great mileage from the stories over many years . . .
