Is this some other poor parent’s Maddie? Police appeal for help identifying blonde girl, 4, found living on gypsy camp in Greece after charging couple with abduction
    By Simon Tomlinson
    PUBLISHED: 10:48 EST, 18 October 2013 | UPDATED: 11:01 EST, 18 October 2013

Who is she? Police are appealing for help identifying this four-year-old girl who was found on a gypsy camp in Greece after she was allegedly abducted
Greek authorities have requested international help to identify a four-year-old girl found living in a Gypsy camp with a couple whom they have arrested and charged with abducting her.
A police statement says the child was found on Wednesday near Farsala in central Greece during a nationwide crackdown on illegal activities by Roma, also known as Gypsies.
The case bears a disturbing similarity to theories about the disappearance of British toddler Madeleine McCann, who went missing on a family holiday in Portugal on May 3, 2007.
The girl found in Greece, who is blonde and pale-skinned, bore no resemblance to the Greek couple, who police said offered conflicting accounts - that she was found in a blanket or was handed to them by strangers.
A 39-year-old man and a 40-year-old woman have been arrested and charged with abducting a minor.
Police said today that DNA testing proved she was not related to the couple.

Police say they also found drugs and unregistered firearms in other parts of the settlement, which is about 280 kilometers (170 miles) north of Athens.
'Her features suggest that she might be from an eastern or northern (European) country,' regional police chief Panayiotis Tzavaras said.
Police have notified Interpol for assistance.
The police statement said the couple claimed to have a total 14 children, and had registered different numbers with authorities in three different parts of Greece.

Officers found three minors living with them in the settlement who appear to be their children - although that hasn't yet been verified by DNA testing.
Police said the child was found near Farsala in central Greece during a crackdown on illegal activities by Roma

The girl is in the care of the charity 'A child's smile,' which said today it has sought the assistance of European and global groups for lost or abused children in tracking her parents.

Charity director Costas Giannopoulos said the child was undergoing medical examinations.

'We are shocked by how easy it is for people to register children as their own,' he told private Skai TV.

Interesting story came across my FB today. Police in Greece are trying to ID a 4 year old girl who they have taken from a Roma (gypsy) couple who DNA has shown are NOT her parents.

    The child is blonde/blue eyed.

    More info at link.

That was my first thought too but she might be too old to be Lisa. They're saying she was probably abducted in 2009, and Lisa disappeared in 2011.

This photo is heartbreaking. I hate posting such a sad picture, but if it helps get the word out and lead to her identity...

    Who are you sweetie?

"We are shocked by how easy it is for people to register children as their own," he told private Skai TV. "There is much more to investigate, there are other registered children that were not found in the settlement, and I believe police will unravel a thread that doesn't just have to do with the girl."

I think the darker ends of this little one's hair are just dirt. the flyer looks like she got her hair washed and the ends are no longer darker. IMO

ETA: but being wrong in this instance is fine too. The ends could indeed be dyed. Beyond that - who are you, baby girl?
