MY son once drew a picture f our family tree, and off me he drew a scribbled picture and wrote JC next to it, the asked what it was and he said " thats my mums best friend" the teacher responded " that is so sweet your mums best friend is Jesus Christ" and he said " no, its Jacobs Creek "

:giggle: that is gold

or he was 'dastardly' enough to leave his little children in the house alone while he dumped Allisons' body...

nope im banking that either one of the evils stayed with the kids or he stayed while the evils dumped her!!

It's a known fact that incarcerated narcissists attempt suicide.

Look at me!!! Feel sorry for meeeeeee!!

I recall that Adrian Bayley (Jill Meagher's rapist & murderer) had a self harm attempt in prison.

Interesting reading re: the judge's comments to the defence! I think it's an exaggeration to say the trial almost fell over, though.

Agreed, huge exaggeration. It didn't come close.

Yes, I remember Allisons dad caught the deal before I went through, I think there was some sort of 'stop' on GBC accessing her estate.

Yes, he caught it just in time, the house had already been sold but he stopped the transfer of funds to GBC, these funds as well as her insurance will now be able to be transferred to the children via the Dickies, though I can guarantee the money will be handled with astute hands with them, I hope the GBC clan are left with out so much as a new packet of razors!!!

I remember back in 2012 one of her friends came to WS and tried to defend her.... Hmmmm..... As I remember I 'went rancid' about it - but I digress, I'm wondering if she's still trying to clear her name, hoping for public sympathy. I think she's digging herself a bigger hole - MOO.
No she is playing the victim . Watch out all you married ladies at the Sunshine Coast. She's on the prowl again.

oh no out of the mouths of babes

How can people be (rightfully) saddened that Allison's voice could not be heard during this whole ordeal, turn around then berate someone under the same mans deceit for wanting to voice their story? I don't understand.

For all I know Toni is another victim of Gerard's corrupt plans, and that she truly loved him under the impression there was a legitimate future. Now all she is left with is her name and face all over the news, and getting thrown under the bus down to Gerard's level.

Sorry UHF - but you cannot put Toni in the same boat as Allison in regard to Gerard's "deceit" as you call it. Toni KNEW she was sleeping with a married man. She too was deceiving!! Victim schmictim!

If you choose to lay down with a married man - repeatedly, with no concern for the other woman or her children - then you are hardly an innocent IMO.

She threw herself under the bus.

I do hope so. The children need it more than his legal team.

what is the difference? It sounds like manslaughter? Alioop? Isn't all killing unlawful??

Yes it is unless the killing is authorised or justified or excused by law. Sec 291 criminal code Qld.

Here is Allison Baden-Clay's family's full statement:
"Today, we, Allison's family and friends, are relieved that we finally have justice for Allison. The evidence presented at this trial has proven that Gerard Baden-Clay is responsible for the murder of his wife Allison.
It has been a long wait over the last two years, and this result today marks the beginning of our long journey towards healing, and finally allowing us to mourn and grieve for this beautiful woman.
Today is not a win for our family, for it will not bring our beautiful Allison back. However, it is the closure of another chapter in this journey for our family. We have lost Allison and nothing that has happened here will bring her back. We as a family will grieve her tragic death forever, the memories tarnished by the fact that she was taken from us in such horrific circumstances.
We would like to thank the Queensland Police Service and the CIB officers involved in the investigation, the SES volunteers who searched night and day in all weather, the scientific experts and the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions who have all worked tirelessly to ensure that we have justice for Allison. We would also like to thank them for their compassion and support over what has been the darkest of times.
To all of our family and friends that have sat in the court each and every day supporting our beloved Allison, we thank you and hope that you too now find some peace from this result.
Throughout this time, those in the close knit Brookfield community and those in the media and wider public have shown us empathy and compassion for which we are enormously grateful. More so, however, we have appreciated your efforts to protect the privacy of Allison's daughters.
Our primary concern has always been and remains the emotional and physical well-being of Allison's three beautiful daughters. We will help them to rebuild their lives and ask for your support, cooperation and privacy in order to do this. We have a long way to go ensure that they will cope with a future without their mother.
Allison was a kind-hearted, generous woman, a loving wife and devoted mother whose legacy will continue if we all remember that life is precious and to take the time to be kind, smile at those who pass you by and live for today.
We, her family and friends, didn't get a chance to say goodbye but Allison will always remain forever in our hearts.
Thank you'

He has been sentenced to life in prison.

Baden-Clay weeps over children's pain
Gerard Baden-Clay wept and trembled as the mother of his murdered wife told him exactly what he'd stolen from his three young daughters.
The 43-year-old showed little emotion in the Brisbane Supreme Court as he was convicted of murdering his wife Allison in April 2012.
But his composure crumbled when Allison's mother seized her moment to tell him just what he'd taken from his own children.
"To have mummy put them to bed one night and wake up the next morning to be told that mummy is missing - what a situation to face," Priscilla Dickie told him.
"The girls will never see their mother again, not just now but for ever and ever.
"They've been condemned to a life sentence without the love and companionship only a mother can give.
Allison's father Geoff Dickie stared down his daughter's killer when it was his turn to speak

Ms McHugh also reveals the 'dark side of Baden-Clay' who is described as a man who 'lost all concept of right and wrong'.
The 60 Minutes piece will also include testimony from a witness the jury never heard from, who claimed Baden-Clay called her and asked 'I'm looking for someone to kill my wife.'
The program will also reveal details from Allison's closest friends, a 'heartbroken' cop, and in depth analysis from the forensic and detective team will also air.
The program has also obtained 'chilling' footage of Gerard Baden-Clay laughing, who then says 'everything is going to be alright', to the person behind the camera.

The Baden-Clays’ three young daughters remain in the primary care of their maternal grandparents, Priscilla and Geoff Dickie.
At the start of the trial, the Dickies made a single request of the media: “We hope you can imagine the ongoing impact of these events on our granddaughters – it has been devastating and will be long lasting.’’
“Our primary concern remains their emotional and physical wellbeing. We are trying to help them rebuild their lives and ask for your support and cooperation in this.”

At the risk of being 'booed':- remember the lies he told about Allison during the trial, I will bet my last dollar that he told outrageous lies to his mistresses about Allison, and painted HIMself as the victim - that's how his type operate.

amatteroftime. The B-C Family have proven to have hides thicker then a rhinoceros. I guarantee they will not move from the area, and will continue to flaunt themselves ..... and will continue to protest GBC's innocence. These are "born to rule" people with an ingrained sense of entitlement.

Yes it is unless the killing is authorised or justified or excused by law. Sec 291 criminal code Qld.

yes ali but isn't unlawful killing a lesser charge than murder like in a car accident for example

Bahahahahaha! I hope it was in Sunday School. :hilarious:

He goes to a catholic school, and he is prone to a laugh, he did it on purpose as he was playing up one day while I was putting some champagne in the fridge, and he asked me what it was and I told him it was my best friend....Needless to say, I was very red faced explaining it to the teacher as he had drawn our whoel family tree on a large cardboard and included Chickens, dogs, Guinea Pigs as well as comments..Oh, he was 6 :) God help me :) Or Jesus Christ help me lol

Hi UHF, I guess you may be referring to me.
You have an interesting take on that.
And yes, I can see that TM may be regarded as a victim in all this.
But she wasn't discarded like Allison and she was quite aware of much more than Allison was ever privvy to.
TM had many chances to play her cards a different way, where as Allison was only able to work within the confines of her marriage and anything her husband told her. Allison was the one here trying to do the right thing, yet she was the only one unable to have her voice be heard throughout.

Baden-Clay’s father Nigel Baden-Clay slumped in his seat on the opposite side of the courtroom, while Baden-Clay’s mother Elaine, sister Olivia and brother Adam, sat motionless

Elaine Baden-Clay left the courtroom shortly after the verdict was announced, appearing pale
