I am surprised with the skin infections that she isn't on bed rest.

And thank you for thanking Sarah. A truly thankless task she took on.

How could it possibly be misguided information to strongly encourage hikers who venture into remote areas to carry a PLB? For many, not all, the options will come down to being rescued or dying.

Well her intent was to go for a quick walk she traveled often. Don’t think it ever occurred to her she’d get lost doing something she’s done often. I have also wondered why she went off trail but maybe she didn’t hydrate enough prior and got over heated and needed to rest. At any rate, it appears she has learned many lessons to include always having her cell phone with her.

The fact is it’s easy to say “would of could of should of” after the fact. But its human nature for us to often learn things the hard way.

I believe the story is that she went off trail to meditate. For how long who knows. Not even sure which trail she followed.

Which is why education about these things is so important. Be prepared when you go hiking. And if you aren't prepared, DON'T.

Agree. But in this case her intent was not to go hiking. She has said she left her stuff in her car because she intended to go for quick walk on trail out and back. Something she has done often. The error occurred when she went off trail to rest, meditate, and nap.

This is so true. I teach Injury Prevention, and find many, many parents think it can't happen to them. (Anything, really, but especially hot car deaths which are sadly so prevalent right now.) :(

Poor thing. Likely all they could get their hands on on a holiday weekend.
So heartwarming to see all the hugs and smiles.

Another hiker in Hawaii has gone missing, sparking a search that comes days after rescuers found yoga instructor Amanda Eller, who spent more than two weeks lost in the island's Makawao Forest Reserve.

Noah Mina, 35, was reported missing on May 20 in the area of Kapilau Ridge Trail, also known as the Saint Anthony Cross, in Wailuku, according to the Maui Police Department.

Police and fire personnel are assisting in his search, the department said. Javier Cantellops, one of the rescuers who found Amanda Eller on Friday, said during a news conference over the weekend that he was meeting with Mina's family to put together a search team.

Anyone else watching her live press conference? I fully believe her story and dont buy any conspiracy stories but I don't think she is doing herself any favors today. People are very judgemental and critical and talking about psychics, spirits, etc etc is not going to keep public opinion on her side. Not that she NEEDS it on her side, the ordeal is over, but I think it would be wise to quietly recover maybe give a few select interviews but not ramble on like this. Already the comment sections are not kind while watching it live.
