Kramer had gone into the evacuated Kapoho area the day prior, June 18, circumventing blockades on Highway 137 with the intent of resupplying an acquaintance who had remained within the evacuation zone.

His last contact was during a phone call in which he related he was lost on a hardened lava flow, communications ended when his battery died.

Kramer never reached the residence within the evacuated area and had not been heard from since.

Mark Kramer also has an outstanding warrant of arrest which is pending service.

This is the oddest case, family/friends had a closure ceremony nov 13 on Hawaii. Where in the heck did this guy go? His warrant was just for a traffic thing. He's got like 5 kids. Grown. Did he jump into the lava to commit suicide? Did he slip into the lava accidentally? He was traveling next to the Lava River. Did he fall into a lava crevasse? How does a human just disappear on an island with no anything? Not a single followup by LE since the day after he went missing.
