If you find out a status changes like Located SAFE, can you change the status or does a moderator verify and do it? Thanks!

It is the work of the mods to verify/ check the source and accordingly change and move the thread.

Hiya Mods! I'm used to sorting threads alphabetically to narrow down by state, but some of the newer threads are missing the 2-letter state abbrev duplicated at beginning (redundant but so helpful!) ... Is this a mod preference?
It means that once the "prefix" updates from state abbrev to "found safe" the state abbrev disappears & can no longer be sorted alpha by state. Please set us straight, many TIA!

I'll echo this! I cannot reliably sort alphabetically by state now. :( Also wondering if this is a new preferred format or unintentional? Thanks!

I will come back on this on the weekend, i did already see the question!
As you may observed the high frequency of inflow this week, which is part of the answer, this keeps quite busy and time is sometimes limited during the week.

I'm guilty. I have not added the state on threads I started because it was already there. I'll keep it in mind if I happen to start any new threads

    Hi!

How do I edit the subject line of a new thread created for a missing person?

    Thanks!

Go to the 1st post in the thread; at the bottom left of the post you'll see report, click on it and tell them you'd like the title changed, also add what you want it changed to.
