Federal prosecutors claim it was roughly two months later, in September 2000, that Johnson drew a map for a jailhouse informant and inadvertently pointed government authorities to the bodies of five people missing since 1993...

U.S. authorities say Honken, a 35-year-old Britt native and methamphetamine maker, was facing a 10-year prison term in July 1993 when he and then-girlfriend Johnson talked their way into the home of Lori Duncan.

Testimony last year showed that Duncan and her two daughters, ages 10 and 6, were abducted on July 29, 1993, along with Greg Nicholson, a former drug dealer for Honken who had recently turned federal informant. All four bodies, all shot at least once, later turned up in single grave in a field near Mason City.

Angela Johnson of Klemme, described by prosecutors as a ruthless accomplice in the execution-style slayings of five people in 1993, was sentenced to death today on eight of 10 counts in her federal murder trial.

Johnson was given the same sentence as her former boyfriend, Dustin Honken, who was convicted last year of killing the five people, including two young children, to disrupt an investigation into his methamphetamine enterprise.

Jurors deliberated about 10 hours over two days.

Iowa does not have the death penalty, and the cases mark the first time since 1963 that a death sentence has been considered in the state. Federal prosecutors sought the death penalty for Johnson because of the killing of federal witnesses and children — and the heinous nature of the crimes.

A woman was sentenced to death Tuesday for helping her former boyfriend kill five people, including two children, in an attempt to thwart an investigation of the man's methamphetamine business...

U.S. District Judge Mark Bennett said last week he was bound by law to issue the sentence a jury recommended in June, but was "troubled by the lack of certainty in the record concerning the precise involvement" of Johnson in the crimes.

Nicholson, Lori Duncan and her daughters, ages 6 and 10, disappeared in 1993;[/b] prosecutors said Johnson had posed as a cosmetics saleswoman to gain access to Duncan's home.

"One of the first five inmates scheduled to be executed in 2020 as the federal government resumes capital punishment is former Britt [Iowa] resident Dustin Lee Honken.

Honken and his then-girlfriend, Angela Johnson, strangled Kandace and Amber Duncan, ages 10 and 6, their mother, Lori Duncan, 31, and Greg Nicholson, 34, at Duncan's Mason City home in 1993 because Honken thought they could be potential witnesses to his multi-state drug ring...

On Thursday, Attorney General William P. Barr directed the Federal Bureau of Prisons to resume capital punishment by changing the drugs used in the federal death by injection protocol, according to a press release issued by the Department of Justice. The protocol had called for a three-drug procedure, but the addendum issued by Barr's office changes it to one -- pentobarbital.

In addition to Honken, four other inmates who have exhausted the federal appeals process will have executions scheduled."

Former Northern Iowa man who killed 5 as part of drug ring cover up, scheduled to die

According to the DOJ, Honken shot and killed five people, including a 10-year-old and 6-year-old girl.

“On Oct. 14, 2004, a jury in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Iowa found Honken guilty of numerous offenses, including five counts of murder during the course of a continuing criminal enterprise, and he was sentenced to death. Honken’s execution is scheduled to occur on Jan. 15, 2020.”

5 inmates to be executed after US attorney general resumes capital punishment following 2 decades without it

I feel like I'm missing something here. Who is the fifth victim of this pair of monsters? The news articles only mention four victims.
