My apologies if this has been brought up before, but I'm trying to catch up on the threads. Does anyone know or seen any mention of BK's family having any tracking apps on their phones like Life360? Or an iphone sharing with his parents or siblings? With him living so far from home the parents may have wanted to be assured he was ok living across the country and potentially driving back & forth? Does anyone know if he drove out there at the start of the school year by himself or if his parents helped him move?
I don't see that as a consideration because he moved there in August of 2022 to begin his studies and was apparently there to do so, without any extended absences that have been noted by any MSM to this point.

I realize this has likely been mentioned before, but I thought LE stated the victims were asleep when they were murdered. I'm struggling to understand how someone could order DoorDash at 4:00a.m.,be watching TikTok, and then be so asleep a few short minutes later that they were murdered without making a sound?, This all took place within approximately 25 minutes? Also, how could one of the other victims state that someone was in the house, playing with a dog, and then be so sound asleep within a few brief and killed? It just doesn't seem like there would have been no screaming, etc. And why the roommate waited several hours to call...in shock or not, that is hard to understand.
Re thinking LE stated the victims were "likely asleep".

Per Moscow PD FB page:

The coroner stated that the four victims were likely asleep, some had defensive wounds, and each was stabbed multiple times.

The coroner was just doing his job without all the info LE had.

Also, I've seen MSM say that LE said they were likely asleep which is someone misinterpreting the information they read.

Here is a snippet of that incorrect info from this CNN article:

The four University of Idaho students who were found stabbed multiple times in their off-campus home were “likely asleep,” before they were attacked, Moscow, Idaho, police said in a Friday evening update.

But, if you click on the link for the Friday evening update (the word update)... it takes you to the same Moscow PD FB page with the quote I mentioned above that "The coroner stated that the four victims were likely asleep".

Stuff like that just causes confusion! I can do that very well all on my own. I don't need help with confusing me. LOL

<modsnip - off topic>

<mod note - VANS> seem kind of like an odd thing to wear to a quadruple homicide IMO.

I've wondered if she was in the bathroom, so he came across E in the room first and then her when she came back in.

But I do tend to agree with the people who've noted the order of the victim names in the affidavit, which suggest E was killed last. In that case, maybe she was up in the room, at the door, when BK came in and E truly was sound asleep.
DM mentions hearing crying from X's room two times. I kind of wonder if maybe he started with X, but then suddenly had to deal with E, which was the 4:17 thud, and then he came back to injured and crying X with the "it's okay, I'm going to help you" line. He left very soon after. Jmo.

Sounds like Mr. Rocket Scientist alleged killer is planning to mount a rigorous defense. It figures. Drag everybody through even more excruciating pain rather than plead guilty. Grr.
I was thinking the same thing - it really annoys me +++
I wish that people who are guilty and have the evidence stacked up against them for something premeditated would just plead guilty because they just drag out the torment for everyone involved - victims, families, LE, court, prisons, society.....and cost us all a fortune.
But that is why they do things like this - they have no concern for others. :(

I’ve been wondering, BK defence team halted the clean up of the crime scene the day he was arrested.
Is it possible BK will visit the crime scene? Before a trial. He might insist on seeing it for himself - would he be allowed? Can’t help but think he’d want to go, and probably enjoy seeing it. Ugh
I don’t think so unless he pleads guilty and says he’ll lead LE to specific evidence in the house. MOO

Wow. Not only did he help them get home that night, safely in the early hours (I know, only for BK to take that away ugh) but he also sent it in with tips to police??

I can’t figure this piece out. I agree the thud was likely E or X falling to the floor.

Plastic on the seats is probably not enough. The pedals, under knobs, some nook or cranny of that car... all it takes is a tiny speck of DNA anyplace within that car. JMO, but I think there's a chance.
100% agree. Was just referring to the knife. I think that car will light up the night when LE uses luminol on it.

So I am reading the affidavit and it says "Also in the room was a male..." Ie both were found in the bedroom

Everything of any sober source I have read says Ethan and Xana were found in bedroom. Is there some source to contradict he police saying both Ethan and Xaa were found in the bedroom?
Not that I am a grammar Nazi but was there a comma after the word also? I know it seems like a crazy question but usually affidavits are grammatical correct and a comma can make a difference. I myself miss commas all the time

It is a valuable tool, if only for that one time "someone gets it right." Off topic but to your point, a doctor (MD) took to "crowd sourcing" certain medical phenomenon to persons and specialists around the world, in order to help patients with diseases and illness that their doctors had been unable to diagnose. Her innovative strategy led to many people having their illnesses diagnosed and successfully treated.

That's a good example of inductive reasoning, and a perfectly valid way of doing research - when you can test your hypothesis and prove it.

But we can't run tests to find out what was in someone's mind when they decided to do a, b, or c, or not do x, y or z. There is the big question of why someone would kill 4 people, IMO that's a reasonable question to ask why, but of course that's purely personal opinion and conjecture, and based on personal views about good and evil, etc.

They updated the PCA and the page is no longer redacted. There is no new info though, so it was likely just and error

Wow. THANK YOU, Gardenista! This makes much more sense to not have a whole page redacted after mentioning the sole deceased male in the affidavit. It really gave me pause. Thanks for posting that! I'll get rid of my bad copy. :)

Iirc, when reading the AA yesterday I noticed BK’s last name was typed as Kohberg, which is missing -er at the end. I know typos and mistakes happen, it just stood out to me because my brain is annoying and I notice little stuff sometimes.

Humans are wild and unpredictable. I can understand why people might want to reserve judgment in this case, but I am guessing that things will change after the preliminary. It's already gotten less "BCK is innocent" since the PCA, of course.

I am confident that BCK will be convicted and the strands of evidence and the story that could be told a trial will hold even more shocking facts. OTOH, he might wiggle out through a plea bargain - not every criminal is required to tell all to get a plea bargain, either (I believe Rader was; DeAngelo wasn't),

I still think BCK wants to have his memoirs out there, even he has to use someone else as main author - that person will show up.
Please share where you see body outlines on the mattresses.

No comma. Which lends further support to the interpretation that both were found in the bedroom.

If BK is the one who said that, it's like he was telling her he was going to put her out of her misery, which is why I wonder if he hurt her initially before E. Clearly, E was a possible threat, though. SG said there was a battle going on in that room, so who knows how he knew that, or if it's accurate. But it seems DM heard X crying immediately right before the killer left, so that tells me she was last. :( It's all so horrible.

No. After clearly placing zkernoodle in the bedroom in paragraph 3 of page one, it even reiterates it in graph 4, placing her in bedroom a second time with: "Also in the bedroom was a male."
I have to admit that on first reading of the AA I thought she was in the hallway in front of the bedroom door because of the mention of the bathroom door immediately before the description of the officer seeing the body. I read the next paragraph that started "Also in the bedroom..." but failed to connect it with the previous paragraph. On second reading, I agree, her body was found on the floor of the bedroom but I can see how someone could be confused based on the construct of para. 3.
