Yes....burglary is a crime in relation to entering a protected location such as a residence to commit a crime. It is not a theft offense but a theft can be one of the crimes that fulfills the elements needed to prove it. So can any other felony offense.

Yes murder is a felony, but that does not mean it will be prosecuted in federal court. Most murders are prosecuted by the state. Being a felony has nothing to do with what court it is prosecuted.

Knowing what we know now, why did LE cancel the shelter in place so quickly and say the public wasn't in any danger??? BK was only 8 miles away for weeks. I think they just made an assumption based on the crime scene that it was a personal vendetta and not a random attack.

Their statements have made it clear that they were not on to Kohberger until about four days before his arrest.

BK fits the standard 'profile' of every nutcase serial killer. I personally find it offensive when people excuse the behavior of these perps by trying to use his 'being bullied, overweight, not socially included' as a reason why they do this.

Most people in life have been bullied, overweight, or socially excluded at some point in their lives. They do not go out and murder or mass murder because of it.

BK is obviously fairly intelligent, enough to be able to be starting his PhD studies in Criminology. He would have average or above reasoning skills and knowledge of right and wrong and the consequences of such. I personally think he planned to commit the 'perfect crime' because he thinks he's the smartest guy in the room, and because he hates everything E,X,M &K were.......which is everything he is NOT.

I'm not opposed to the seeking the DP in this case, but for some reason I think it would just continue to feed BK's ego. Maybe it would be better for him to have to live out his life day after day as just another convicted felon slogging through the penal system.

What would make this murder different than all others that are tried by the state? I can't see this being tried as a Federal Case-

He crossed state lines to commit the crime. The burglary is already a felony charge, per MSM. If he had NOT committed a federal crime, Moscow LE would be transporting him back to Moscow. He will come via US Marshall escort.

A few thoughts of mine are
A) LE knew of him for quite some weeks
B) how can his dad not have suspected a thing … did BK actually plan this to occur before he set off with his dad so he could “gloat “ about it in his head the whole way
C) how can a criminology student be so stupid as to use his own vehicle
D) if it’s set it’s his DNA that doesn’t mean there wasn’t another involved in some way eg vehicle driver who has yet to be revealed
E) he most definitely targeted and Set up
Those kids / the house yet he hadn’t scoped out the cameras on adjacent houses
F) the fact the uni server/ cameras being down still feels pertinent as does the drunk kids on the field - he chose that time to go in cos he knew it set up a red herring for cops to wonder if were linked
G) the Hudson thing was another thing he was aware of and therefore another avenue to target cops elsewhere than him
H) so many Google searches on those girls because he was seeking ways that cops might direct away from him

The knife will have been thrown IMO and cops tracking his car will find it … but he will have set the knife up with other DNA on it to create reasonable doubt against him

Exactly! I’ve said it before we can’t be so sure BK acted alone. He might have been the only one to get his hands dirty and actually commit the murder. But he might have had a lookout person/driver in the white Hyundai on the morning of the murders

I mean, we all have our opinions but that's just what they are. Opinions. We are here to share them & discuss different POV, not to judge people. JMO.

I think it’s reasonable. We all make judgments every day of our lives in order to keep ourselves and our loved ones safe. Or to avoid being ripped off.

I mean if I get a call from someone claiming to be the IRS, and they tell me I’m going to jail if I don’t send gift cards to them, I’m going to judge them pretty intensely. I think that’s both fair and reasonable.

Here we have a guy who was arrested after a serious investigation, ostensibly found via DNA evidence. I’m going to assume he’s guilty until proven otherwise. Because I’m not on the jury and I think my conclusion is reasonable.

By the way? Judging means to form an opinion.

Don't they have a female unit there? When I was a student nurse, every jail I went to train in had a completely separate area for women inmates and different times they could see the nurse and social workers.

Good questions.... My opinion, he was only targeting one of them. He only lived about 15 minutes away, and it sounds like Moscow was a popular place for students to hang out. The house is very well-known in the area. I think he may have seen one of the girls and perhaps became obsessed with her or perhaps encountered her at a restaurant or bar, or maybe saw her social media. I believe he acted alone. He's a narcissist, he kept the car and didn't ditch it, so I think he maybe also kept the knife. JMO
