The fact they are seeking surveillance video from 3 to 6am implies that they know where the suspect was before 3am, which implies they actually know who the suspect is.

3 to 6am is when the murder weapon and clothes were probably disposed of.

I still can't figure out how the surviving roommates thought one of the victims was just "passed out". It implies they weren't in close contact, maybe just looking in a bedroom window.

It's a 2nd floor window, so this is possible. Or else the victim was lying against the door which they couldn't open.

I get that. Truly being in earshot is the only way. But he would have to know all 4 were asleep IF his goal was to strike while they were asleep. Which means what? Checked both rooms first? OR what else could it mean?

I will throw out things I am thinking of.

The killer was previously chatting with one or more.
Killer had somehow incapacitated them all? Maybe a laced drink shared together?
Killer had been in the house before and planted bugs or cameras?
There were two killers?
Killer really didn't care if they were asleep and staged the scene and the coroner was incorrect?
Did killer expect 2 per room? Seems it didn't deter.
Was the target all 4? And that is why 2 per room didn't deter?
Was the killer just utterly nuts?
Was the killer already in the house?
I dunno.
My mind keeps going to the warm boiler room that someone mentioned earlier.
It would have provided safe shelter and a comfy place to hide out for as long as it took.
Pure speculation and no idea what the acoustics would have been like from this cave. Speculation only.

Too many questions and not an answer to be found anywhere from anybody at all..
where is he/she/they now and what is the likelihood of another strike and where is it most likely to occur?
That's where I got stuck.

Did he she or they attend the vigil?
I have a feeling not.
I expected they would but there are myriads of excuses not to without arousing suspicion.

I don't think LE know either and that's all overwhelming.

Looks like they did exhaustive evidence collection, precise elaborate DNA sampling over 3 days. That’s great! iMO

NEW in #Idaho4 case: Idaho State Police spox Aaron Snell tells me investigators have begun receiving crime lab results to analyze. He would not say if the results include info any about foreign DNA pulled from the scene. #IdahoStudents #MoscowPD #moscowidaho #MoscowHomicides

@JaimeInLA I am tagging you so that you have a link instead of responding because I don't think your post will stay.

Here is a link to the incident on the Band field. It is from 11-13-22

22-M09896 Alcohol Offense

Incident Address: TAYLOR AVE; Band Field

MOSCOW ID 83843

Disposition: ACT

Time Reported: 03:01

Cad Comments:

Officer requested a case. Report taken.

Thank you!!

Brian Entin was just on Ashleigh Banfield’s show and made the walk from the place where that 911 call was made, in the field between the Sigma Chi house, and the murder house. It was SO CLOSE!

This definitely cannot be a coincidence. I am back leaning in the direction that this had something to do with that party and the missing 4 1/2 hours.

It's not necessarily difficult either. The girls were both visibly intoxicated. If the first blow to the first victim in the bed is fatal they'd not necessarily make noise of volume enough to wake an intoxicated person who is asleep. Perhaps the victim just made that shock gasp for air upon the fatal blow, which killer could muffle with their hand. All this of course depends on the skill and/or composure of the killer. I'm speculating that X (and possibly E, though not confirmed) had 'defensive' wounds because perhaps she was not intoxicated or as intoxicated.
also, LE said that they weren't gagged and bound. LE did not say that their mouths weren't taped. Mouth could have been taped while sleeping, butcher, remove tape. only thing remaining is adhesive residue.

Just because cases get solved in an hour on tv, that does not mean that they do in real life. Two weeks is hardly a long time to investigate a crime of this magnitude, and despite what we think we have a right to know, or what we want to know, LE owe us nothing, other than to let their community know if they feel they are in danger.

I am certain that LE know a LOT more than what they are sharing with the public, or the families, many of which have been perhaps far too willing to talk to reporters. I do believe this week will be pivotal in the investigation, and would not be surprised to see an arrest, or at least a statement that LE have a POI they are pursuing, within the next few days. Felony Friday is coming. JMO
Of course le knows more and withholding info. That is normal. It could take months of investigation to close this case. They need the right evidence to put the *advertiser censored* away. Moo.

This is the official word on the asleep issue.

Autopsies were conducted on November 17th. The Latah County Coroner confirmed the identity of the four murdered individuals and their cause and manner of death as homicide by stabbing. The coroner stated the four victims were likely asleep, some had defensive wounds, and each was stabbed multiple times. There was no sign of sexual assault.

This isn't the same thing as an official coroner's or crime scene report or anywhere close. I stand by my original opinion that we won't know anything for sure until the official reports are released

Even if there is no suspect there should be a profile of the killer to help the general public. The FBI has agents assigned to this case and should be giving out info to make it look like they are on to the killer. I mean I would guess the guy is white, early to late 20's. An avid hunter who has tortured animals in the past and carries a big knife. He probably stands out as weird and probably has a problem with women. People out there fit this description, this aint Ted Bundy although the Chi Omega murders do seem somewhat similar. Except this guy stabbed 4 people to death without anyone hearing the first sound or seeing anything. I wouldn't doubt if he did wait in the house for everyone to fall asleep, insane, Crazy!
This early in the investigation it would actually do more harm than good to release the profile , both in a community sense and in an investigation sense. Everyone is going to look at a person that even somewhat resembles the profile with suspicion. Some people may take their suspicions too far and bully or attack innocent people. Conversely, if it is released, people might not call in tips on an individual because they don’t think it’s relevant since this individual doesn’t match the profile.

It is odd the University is publicizing that, but is it public record? LE is likely aware as I'm sure they're looking for any suspects/motives. Say, one of the girls turned in their sorority for violations for example? I think LE needs to know that information, but I do think it's weird that UI released it and MSM ran with it. MOO.
I used to read the report at my kid’s school-that college had a lot more information than what is listed on UI’s site. Really bad behavior. But common, nothing noteworthy on the face of it.

I wonder if the police will now confirm they shared a bed or just go the no comment route.
I doubt they will confirm but they may address it with some vague word salad. I think the original target statement may indeed be true-sometimes the first things you hear are closest to correct. I really hope they are farther along than they are making it sound. And pick a person to speak. One voice.

Lots of talk about technicalities of where the victims were in the house, who may have been with who, who may have fought, etc. Nonsense. We know nothing “officially” other than manner of death was stabbing, which only serves to identify a sharp object as the murder weapon. No information about use of ligature or restraints of any kind. No specifics as to how the sharp object/knife was used. Sloppy, rough, random, panicky stabbing would indicate a first-timer and possibly a crime of passion/obsession scenario. Precise, silent, and methodical indicates something else, like a pro, possibly a “sicario”.

So now they are walking back the WHOLE storyline that the murders were targeted. House and victims. Sigh.

Also, they don't appear to have much of anything.

Also, serial killer.

My opinion.

also, your post from the previous thread:

The protocol for local jurisdictions would be to call in SBI to assist if needed, not the FBI. Calling in the FBI on top of the SBI is a whole other thing altogether. At that time they wouldn't have even had time to process the scene or consider suspects at all, let alone suspects close to the victims, so that tells me something else was seen that greatly concerned them, and immediately. Indeed, that the FBI BAU was requested and on scene so quickly is telling.

100%. It sounds like they have nothing and are remessaging, but they've got nothing. I think either they'll have to wait until he does this again and/or they'll try taunting him out. Empathy isn't his thing, but ego may be.

yes, i certainly wouldn't. so it was a targeted attack, but until he's in custody i'm not feeling safe regardless of the motive. lets say he was infatuated with one or more of the girls ok so what's to say he hasn't moved on to someone else now? or maybe not a sexual motive but was angry ok so what if he gets angry at someone else? whatever the motive was, it could theoretically be transferred to someone else now which is obviously unsettling.

IMO, "no threat" can only be confidently stated once perp is in custody. MOO
You are right. The assailants might be mentally unstable and if he sees you talking to his ‘love’ you might be a target
