Early on, the media let it slip out that one of the victims ( Melissa in my opinion ) was found with a ligature still around her neck. They quickly retracted the story, probably because LE asked them to, but I'm positive that ligature was the belt. I don't believe that belt belonged to him, though. I believe it belonged to one of his victims. It may have even belonged to Melissa, since she offered BDSM services. No one puts there initials on a belt, strangles someone with it, and then leaves it on the body. Unless, of course, it was just another way to degrade the victim or it simply didn't matter if he left it because there was nothing to tie it to him in the first place. LISK makes some careless mistakes when he drinks ( calling mothers, tormenting little sisters, etc. ), but I don't believe he would allow himself to be sloppy drunk on a kill and just forget to remove evidence that could lead back to him.

All just my opinion, of course. Gut feelings about a guy I've spent far too much time with over the years. :(

Hi @Mountain_Kat ! It's great reading your thought provoking posts, as always. I totally agree with the last sentence of your post...I've also spent too much time with this guy over the years.

Please refresh my memory here. Wasn't an arm bone one of one of the gilgo ladies given to her mother by police at a memorial? Do you recall which victim? I'm just curious if it was ever decided if it was due to animal activity or dismemberment. TIA

It's great seeing these threads active again!

Good lord ! I don't recall the story of the arm bone, at all ! What an odd thing for LE to do, if true. I mean, I can understand a medical examiner releasing the remains to the family once they have gotten all the forensic evidence they can get...but to present the family with an arm bone at her memorial ?! And JUST an arm bone ?! Why ?!

It's interesting to me that Valerie was last seen by family members in Port Republic, NJ in the summer or 2000. Port Republic is only something like a 30 minute drive from Egg Harbor, NJ , where the AC4 were discovered in 2006.

Not placing a ton of value in that information...but it is kind of interesting.

Thanks to @Blueeyedbrowngirl for jolting my memory. @Mountain_Kat, the bone was in a box and given to the Mother when the memorial was over. I thought it was weird and very sad.

I recall an interview in which Melissa’s mom, Lynn, said law enforcement contacted her after Melissa was found and said they’d discovered additional remains belonging to Melissa. If I’m not mistaken (and I could be because it’s been a longgg week), law enforcement at some point asked Lynn to refrain from sharing that information with the public. It hasn’t yet been disclosed whether the arm was separated from Melissa’s remains post-mortem by animals or if it was the result of intentional dismemberment.

    My feelings on the belt:

Why do people label their clothing? Well in the UK we label them for our children. They all wear the same uniform and lose it all the time so we have to, it’d cost us thousands otherwise.

In the U.K., l it’s incredibly unusual to label clothing once school is done.

The only people who continue to label after school are those who wear a uniform or scrubs for work, doctors, nurses, police, firemen. That is particularly the case with small items like belts, crocs. I’m sure in the USA you also frequently see nurses or doctors with felt tip pen on their crocs saying their name, is that right? So they don’t get mixed up?

My feeling is that he stole the belt from a locker room and the initials weren’t his which is why he didn’t care about leaving it.

    Again, just a gut opinion.

Agreed, I don't know if it Is a locker room or by other means but I don't think the initials are those of a relative, friend or his own. I feel it was acquired in such a way, that there would be no trace of it. It could've been bought with cash at a flea market in another state. Could've been found in a heap of a trash, a goodwill store.... the possibilities are endless. I don't think the initials are going to be linked to him directly.

Now if there was some obscure connection like someone identifying the belt as their fathers and it coming to light that the father had a caretaker back in the day, that seems more plausible but still so highly unlikely that unfortunately, I feel the belt is not what will crack the case.

Hope I'm wrong because it is a significant piece of evidence.

I agree about the serial killer theory , but I believe the killer is a police / law enforcement but also a pimp or driver for prostitutes possibly undercover as law enforcement. I believe he has a very easy time getting away with this do to the social status of most of his targets and his position with our law enforcement system. I believe this individual is double dipping. He is a officer or something of that nature by day, pimp/ **** by night. Married well liked and probably an important figure. Someone highly intelligent no one would suspect.. there is a second dumping site that will be found.

Hi...Any thoughts regarding possible connection to VM, AC4 and The Man at Wolf Hill Road, Dix Hills, NY

Not sure if this was posted before, but if you look at the case surrounding "The Man @ WHR" he was found in March of 2000. Valarie was found in November.

The man's body was found eastbound off of Northern State Pkwy- 1/2 mile east on Wolf Hill Road.
    (also towards Manorville direction)

I am wondering if this man could have been her pimp?

When reading the case I noticed newspaper articles stated he one of the things he was found wearing was a tshirt w "New Jersey" emblem on it and also he was found not wearing any "socks or shoes" just like the AC4.

He was found in a black garbage bag, just like VM was found. .

Then I looked up info on the "Porchlight International" site, it stated that the tshirt had "Atlantic City"

Then I started to dig around some more and found this newspaper article w pic of t shirt:

State Police Still Seek Answers In Unsolved Dix Hills Homicide

The design was made by a well-known pop artist Mary Ellis who probably did sell these shirts back in 2000 in Atlantic City.
And lastly, Northern State Pkwy does take you into Gilgo Beach when you get onto Sagitos Pkwy.

I just wonder if VM was with someone, he got shot and she was taken by gunpoint. IDK, any thoughts?

One of the things that stood out to me about Valerie is a particularly rough mugshot. It made me think of Jessica Taylor right off the bat, in that these 2 victims don't appear to be of the "escort" variety (if you catch my meaning). There is just no way, imo , that LISK would engage with providers of this type. Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't think so.
